My get-up-and-go has gone ?

Wanted:
Missing, get-up-and-go
If anybody has it can they please send me some?
Is it the dull, damp morning? Too much food over Christmas?
“End of a cr*p year” syndrome?
Whatever, I am finding it hard to stay vertical, can feel no motivation whatsoever for the (few) tasks I had hoped to achieve before the end of the year, and just want to curl up and hibernate.
Move over Rosie

Happy Birthday Muse ??

I have started prepping lunch. Just received a phone call from middle AS, GS (13) was rushed to hospital last night, seen in A & E, straight to operating theatre and now home sleeping off anaesthetic. How wonderful is our NHS.

Numbers for lunch may be down, GS is insisting they come so he can lay on Grandmas bed and be waited on ?

Happy Birthday Muse

Completely lost the will and now my lady who does isn’t doing today due to Covid and the husband has no golf and is prowling round the house moaning about rain.

Happy Birthday Muse ???

Happy birthday muse ?

Aveline Thu 30-Dec-21 10:48:09

So should I get dressed? It's not even 11 yet.

It’s very hard to find some ‘get up and go’ for me today. This birthday girl should be celebrating it with her lovely DD. She usually comes to stay for a few days between Christmas and the New Year. For the third year running we’ve cancelled it. FaceTime is due any moment.
My lovely DH and dog Mya will lift my spirits as well as lots of messages from my fabulous friends. ??

No energy at all here so just curling up with a good book.

Josieann Thu 30-Dec-21 10:39:49

No chance here! If we don't do this twice a day we're in big trouble. Puppies! See you lucky lazy people later.
I'll do a swap!

Aveline Thu 30-Dec-21 10:39:47

On the other hand, my DGS just sent me this pic. View from their window this morning. I could have been there too but just couldn't be bothered with the sheer hassle of travelling right now. Am regretting it a bit.

Silverlining you make me feel ashamed blush
But not enough to actually stir my stumps! grin
Best wishes to your DH and keep safe yourself flowers

Coffee hasn't worked - at all. If only the sun would come out. Gloomy drizzle doesn't encourage any activity.

BlueSky Thu 30-Dec-21 10:33:46

Oops Maw that’s another theory out of the window! confused

silverlining48 Thu 30-Dec-21 10:24:51

So glad it’s not just me....trouble is I do need some as I get up ( very slowly) and down the stairs as dh tested positive on Boxing morning. It’s only been a few days but it feels an age.

The lesson learned Is I was never cut out to be a nurse. Trouble is I am in a lot of pain too as still waiting fir a new hip. Feeling a bit sorry fir myself. Must pull my socks up, if only I could reach them. grin

Same here, even before all this. I do things and go out only because my DH pushes me to do it, otherwise it would be easier just to mope around. That’s why I believe you need a dog if you are on your own, just to get you up, out and about, and preserve your sanity.

Really?
Get a dog, they said, keeps you fit, gets you out.
Yeah right

Glad it's not just me then! I've become an expert procrastinator; I can come up with a dozen excuses not to do something. I make plans and arrangements to do stuff, meet friends, go somewhere but when the time comes, I have to force myself to actually do it. My mantra these days is "cba".

Juliet27 Thu 30-Dec-21 10:19:02

Ah yes…washing…a reason to get going ?

Aveline Thu 30-Dec-21 10:17:40

Count me in. My brain has turned to porridge. At this time of year I'm usually making plans for events and holidays but no point these days as no certainties any more.
My bossy Fitbit keeps me moving (or I feel sooo guilty!) Sigh. I might put on a washing later. Maybe.

Lincslass Thu 30-Dec-21 10:12:39

Same here, lack of fresh air, too much food. Now sat with doors wide open into the garden, very mild, no rain, and breezy. Hoping the get up and go will breeze in very soon.

DerbyshireLass Thu 30-Dec-21 10:12:04

Glad it's not just me.......I've definitely lost my mojo.

Juliet27 Thu 30-Dec-21 10:11:26

Found the old cot/basket in the loft but the dog won’t let us throw it out. I’m rather glad, for sentimental reasons

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 30-Dec-21 10:06:00

You’re not alone. My motivation has disappeared. The constant rain hasn’t helped. Very mild today but windy too. I feel I really ought to get out in the garden and do a bit but ….

LadyGracie Thu 30-Dec-21 10:00:54

Mine feels exactly the same

Grannybags Thu 30-Dec-21 09:59:32

I was only saying yesterday that I can't be bothered to do anything these days.

I'm usually on a high at this time of year with Christmas behind me but can't find any motivation at the moment
