What is you bedroom like?

I have pale duck egg blue paint on 3 walls and duck egg blue feature wallpaper on wall behind bed. Same colour but darker curtains and pine venetian blinds. Pine wardrobes, chest of drawers and headboard. Soft green carpet. Sounds lovely eh? Well as my daughter, partner and 2 year old son slept in there over Christmas it looks lovely but usually there is an ironing board draped in clothes at the end of the bed...things on hangers hanging from wardrobe...clean washing waiting to be put away. Normal situation I imagine??

Thinking about my home, I think my recent redecoration is a fight against having an old woman’s bungalow! I’ve gone overboard with a kind of Scandinavian style of white, clean lines with pops of colour, few ornaments, no curtains or fussy drapes and brightly lit. I might live in a bungalow but I don’t want to live in anything resembling a care home!

I recently had my house totally redecorated with every wall painted white. The idea is to use accessories to create colour while keeping everything minimal and clutter free.

I have a large bedroom with light ash fitted wardrobes on two walls and just a few other pieces - free standing mirror, small chair, linen basket and a couple of pictures. There is an inset area above some drawers for a TV but I no longer have one in the bedroom and have a large plate there instead. I’ve just ordered some white plantation shutters/blinds to replace the louvred dust attracting blinds so don’t have any curtains. The bed is a wooden one, again a simple design.

The main colour in the room comes from the bedding. I’m toying with the idea of replacing the carpet which is a nasty shade of orange/brown ( like the old American tan tights!) but can’t decide on what flooring or colour to have. I’d like cream but as I live in a bungalow and tend to walk straight into my bedroom when I get in to take coat and shoes off, cream is not really practical. Maybe laminate like I’ve just put in my lounge with a colourful rug?

I love my bedroom it is not too large and everything fits in nicely.the walls are cream/gold and the brass headboard looks good against the wallpapered one wall.
The furniture is golden pine and the flooring pale wood most of my bedding is white/lemon and I have a huge mirror over a dresser finished off with a large glass chandelier bought in a charity shop for a gift of a price.

Painted white (everything, as it's a mish mash of odd old furniture)
Big, high, black wrought iron bed, bright pink curtains and lamps.
Grey cushion floor.

I like mine calm and tidy it’s dark teal and silver blue on the walls with grey carpet.

Don't get me wrong, I love and enjoy looking and being in " grand, modern " places but I also love being with and in my own comfortable surrounds too.
I've visited some beautiful homes in my life-time, really swish but there's never a place like home

My problem is that I still live in the past and what I have has character and a " tale to tell ". I can't bring myself to live with the times and lose it all to a modern lifestyle, it wouldn't be me as my identity would be lost forever.

Our bedroom is a calm relaxing space.

Cream walls, white gloss on all woodwork, gold coloured chandelier type ceiling light ( our Victorian cottage has very high ceilings so can take a big light), neutral carpet. Wooden sleigh bed (very heavy), and similar bedside tables, dressing table, chest of drawers.

Fireplace with a chunky wooden mantlepiece made by MrLP from some old wood we inherited.

We stick to plain cream for the bedding, but we have 5 handmade patchwork bedspreads, sourced from *bay/antique shops, which we use on top and rotate during the year. These are in various muted shades, one looks more wintery, one summery etc. I love changing them over, and noting the passage of the year.

We also have 2 sets of Christmas bedding, which appear in December!

Mine is fairly plain and light- coloured with two windows which have wonderful views.

Plain, white walls, white painted floorboards, duck blue plain long curtains in front of a pair of French doors.

2 Folk style rug and 2 small pine cupboards. On them a clock a plant, a lamp and a bird ornament.

A row of quaker style pegs on the back wall.

Cosy, calm, an uncluttered simple room. A pop of colour in the bedding/duvet covers.

Calm light grey wallpaper with embossed trees that glitter a subtle gold (JL) light grey carpet. Bed head and side units dark wood in a 1920"s colonial style, dark rich mulberry curtains with side light that match.
Pictures from far east in Gold bamboo frames. Fitted wardrobes in white and full length mirrors in middle sections.
Only white of pale grey bedding.
Very calm and restful.

Currently like Pickford's yard, as I'm moving in 18 days' time. Eek, in 18 days I will (hopefully) be lashing over the M62 to my forever home!

Based on my beautiful curtains, the look I'm going for is darkly opulent. going to be easier to achieve in the new place with nice little bits of furniture around as opposed to here, where every inch of the room bar the bed is built in. Practical, I suppose but not at all atmospheric.

Ours has plain cream walls and to compliment this we wallpapered the large sliding doors on the wardrobe with a cream and gold pattern.

It was my husband who suggested wallpapering the large doors to which i said NO WAY, IT WILL LOOK RIDICULOUS...hahahahaha, it looks great. Oh and plain cream thick carpet.

A bed and two bedside cabinets .I could not sleep in a room with fitted units.

Neutral shades for the walls, carpet, curtains, bed head and bedside lamp shades; white furniture. Bold colours come from the bedding by bluebellgray. Wall art, a full length mirror and a central light which casts beautiful light effects on the ceiling.

We have wooden nice quality furniture, large mirror, white curtains, all quite calm and subtle, until I decided that painting the bedroom yellow was a good idea. It's awful. I wouldnt go dramatic unless you actually know what you are doing (I didnt)

A mess. Nothing matches. I'm hopeless with bedrooms for some reason.

Mine is supposed to be plain and calm. Actually, it is used as a dumping ground for everything without a home for me to 'sort out later'.

Originally, it was all white with pale bedding and very calm and zen. It WAS lovely and relaxing. A real sanctuary.

Calm and pale with blackout curtains. The lights on the marina, dock gates and bridge are very bright and on all night.

Mine is full of boxes as 'trying' to move house! I sleep in the kitchen in a riser recliner and have done for a decade now, but that's full of boxes too, have been recycling clothes now for 4 months!
