Happy New Year to all GraMmingos! May 2022 bring peace of mind, health and gentleness to all.
It is still gloomy in E Kent but we have been promised some sunshine a bit later. Yay!
We had a quiet evening, DH, DS and me, after a nice dinner. No waiting up for us.
Today will also be quiet and a bit reflective as DS leaves early Monday morning. All things unsaid have to come out, especially re. Philip. That’s ok, needs to be done.
I am looking forward to a better, happier 2022 for everyone l. We have had a tough two years, we deserve it!
Carpe diem. ??☀️❤️???

Stay safe and well everyone x

Good morning and a Happy New Year everyone!
Let’s hope it’s a far better one for you all.

Alizarin Sat 01-Jan-22 06:53:54

Happy New Year from a brightening south Cornwall. Though it's been a tough year for so many this little chap, the youngest in our family, is oblivious and contented as long as there's a rock pool near by. God bless you all this coming year. x

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s blowing a hoolie out there!

Happy New Year everyone.

We stayed up to bring in the New Year so I don’t know why I’m awake early. Another quiet day ahead, our last day of isolation unless of course my PCR is positive. I really think I’ve just got a cold though.

Have a peaceful day everyone.

Happy New Year from the south coast where the mild weather continues. DH and chums are going for the first bike ride of 2022 and hopefully it will be the first of many for them.

Sending good wishes to everyone for health and happiness and a better 2022 than the last two years have been. sunshine

Good Morning everyone from Severnside on New Years Day. It’s damp outside.

I spent the evening asleep and woke a few minutes to midnight. I watched the fireworks on tv and then watched the rest of Four Weddings and a Funeral. I heard one firework go off near me.

I’ll take my cards down today and faff about the house a bit. I might go out to a quirky shop in town and see if they have something I’d like to buy for a present.

Special thoughts for you grannysomerset as you face the near future ?

My good wishes to you all for the coming year ??

Beechnut Sat 01-Jan-22 07:22:55

Happy New Year from DD1 house in Cambridge
We enjoyed staying up to bring in the New Year with a bottle of Prosecco and saw quite a few fireworks from the bedroom windows
DGSs have both just got up but mum and dad are still snoozing upstairs, I expect they’ll be there for a while yet as they had quite a late night
Thanks for starting us off on a new year mick and take care everyone whatever the day brings ?

Grannyme6 Sat 01-Jan-22 07:56:35

Happy New Year Mick and all Good Morningers!

We didn't make midnight but the new year has dawned without our input.

We had a lovely visit from DS2 yesterday.

It looks as though we might get rain today.

Gingster Sat 01-Jan-22 08:01:25

Good morning all and it’s just getting light here in Essex.
The fireworks were very loud last evening and went in until about 1am. I have little DGD staying again as mum has been re admitted to hospital with an infection. Let’s hope it clears up soon.?. I’ve never known a child to wriggle and leap about in her sleep like this one! She’s sleeping with me , so I didn’t get much shuteye!

Thinking of grannysomerset . A very sad time for you.?

Nice to hear from Bellasnanna and Alizirin. Great to see you’re both ok.?

Let’s hope 2022 is a better year for all of us. ?

Happy New Year Mick and the Good Morning-ers from east London.

We had our second NYE not going out, due to me being CEV. We made the best of it and had a lovely meal with a bottle of champagne.

The fireworks here were prodigious.

Wishing everyone a better 2022, which is as safe, healthy and happy as possible. ?

Good morning, everyone, from a mild, dry and calm Torbay.

Welcome back, Bellasnana! So good to see a post from you!

We didn’t see in the New Year and I slept through the local fireworks which DH heard just after midnight. Our celebration consisted of the three game roast, originally intended for Christmas Day, before we knew we’d be with my family. We shared fizz from Denbies, a vineyard near Dorking, where we first met at school. It is sold currently in Lidl!

My thoughts and prayers are with GrannySomerset at such a sad time, wrestling with the decision. My inclination would be to share with family if they can be contacted. ?

Peace and love to you all and a happier new year. ?????

NanKate Sat 01-Jan-22 08:15:18

Morning Mick and All.

New Year Greetings.

Welcome back Bellasnana and Alizarin. ??

We’ve invited 2 of our neighbours round for morning coffee and warm mince pies. One is 97 the other nearly 90, they’ve never met before so we thought it would be nice to introduce them. They are both totally with it and one is a bit if a glamour puss so I better put on my glad rags and not wear my slippers.

For once Kitty I didn’t miss Midnight as I woke at 3 minutes to 12 ⏰ for a quick comfort break.

NanKate Sat 01-Jan-22 08:16:03

GrannySomerset ?

Good morning from a grey but mild Colchester.
The three of us saw in the New Year with chocolates and TV. DS has spent much of these last 2 years avoiding social situations. I hope he can soon go back to the normal lifestyle of a 20 something.
Our first New Year here and there were many more fireworks than in our previous area further out of town, but surprisingly less noise from drunken revellers.
We're starting 2022 with a quiet weekend waiting for negative results from family.

Thinking of Grandmasomerset flowers

Happy New Year and love to all ? x

Grandmajean Sat 01-Jan-22 08:20:50

Happy New Year from Cheshire.
More visitors today so need to be organised. Will get up soon.
Hope 2022 sees all Gransnetters in a good place.
