Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looks dry outside here in brackley .
The last of the bank holidays now until mid April , must start to plan my year ahead with holiday breaks etc .
I have got that used to staying in , its slightly changed my routine , mind the xmas break ,gave an opportunity to see others both on the coach I was on, and from elsewhere.
Take care,
Mick

Good Morning, seems to be dry just now , pinkish fluffy clouds drifting in the breeze
Nothing planned for today , but I must decide whether to rip or keep on crocheting , not thrilled with it at the moment
GrannySomerset I’m sure he hears your voice , I hope you get some comfort from it as well xxx'

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it feels mild again.
I have no plans for this last day of the holiday. I cannot sit down as my leg hurts and I cannot drive so I am relying on DH to go shopping for my DD party tea stuff for tomorrow. I will have the DGC here and as it is her 27th we will do her a party tea for when she gets home. It will be rubbish as DH just will not look around a supermarket to get the right stuff, if it doesn’t jump out and say ‘here I am’ it won’t go in the trolly!! I may go with him and endure 10 minutes in the car, I will sit on one bum cheek?
I have had such a quiet and relaxing holiday I am reluctant to get back to normal tomorrow, but life must return to normal and work beckons on Wednesday. Mind you, as I can’t sit down I am not getting much rest to be fair. I will read your posts with a cuppa and a croissant right now.
Stay safe my friends❤️

Good morning from another mild morning in Colchester. The sky is a light greyish blue and it's dry.
It's definitely a Bank Holiday as The Railway Children has just started on BBC1.
The decorations were packed away for another year yesterday.
I've sorted the recycling and made a shopping list so far this morning.
DH and I will walk to Lidl and pick up a few necessaries. No need for the car as DS is driving back to base later today so we don't need masses of food in. Leftover beef in a curry tonight.
Back to some semblance of normality here tomorrow.

Love to all ?x

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire, there is rain in the air though.

The decorations were taken down and put away yesterday so not much planned today. I may phone a few friends.
Things will start opening up tomorrow. I have had enough of Bank Holidays.

Sending love and best wishes to all.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sun has popped over the horizon again and it’s very windy today.
I had a quiet day yesterday taking down the decorations and tidying all the mess (why does an artificial tree drop its bits everywhere?). The bags and box are in the spare bedroom waiting for a visitor to help me get them back in the loft.
The afternoon was spent picking up stitches for the neck of collar of a jumper I am knitting.
Today’s excitement is going out for milk and —perhaps— a walk.
flowers for all those who need them this morning.
GrannySomerset especially for you. As one who has walked a similar path my heart goes out to you.
Take care everyone.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

MayBeMaw Mon 03-Jan-22 08:51:42

I am sure he will be aware of your presence - and as well as doing it for him, you will remember these last days of love in months, even years to come ?

GrannySomerset Mon 03-Jan-22 08:49:02

Plan to go and sit with DH for a little while though he no longer responds at all. I read some poetry rather than just chat though whether he gets any comfort from my voice is unknowable. It is all I can do for him so I will persevere. The next few days are likely to see the end of this.

Thoughts with all travelling and with DC travelling and with those struggling to pick up the pieces of post-Christmas life. An improvement in the weather would help but today is grey and dampish which I guess is better than frost and snow.

Good morning all from a dry, but damp S Hants. Welcome back Alizarin we too had a family lunch out yesterday for my son’s birthday, glad you enjoyed yours as we did ours.
Washing to do and a walk later.
Safe journey for your son gM.
Thoughts with GrannySomerset
Enjoy your day all ???

harrigran Mon 03-Jan-22 08:36:15

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Very quiet day yesterday, decided I wasn't going to do housework so sat myself in front of the TV and watched some films on Netflix.
Today I will make an effort and do the laundry and tidy up.
DD and SIL were going to visit his brother, cancelled at last minute again due to another case of covid. Three times over the holiday it has been arranged and cancelled, DD probably won't get to see them now as she will have to return to Brussels this week.
For all the sad and poorly people flowers

Grandmajean Mon 03-Jan-22 08:33:29

Good morning from Cheshire.
Got most of the decorations down yesterday. Only a few to finish today.
I like to treat myself to a little bunch of daffodils in January. They look so different from all the bright lights and baubles of Christmas. Might just see if any available in local Waitrose which is the nearest supermarket.
Hope today brings some sunshine - real or metaphorical ?

ginny Mon 03-Jan-22 08:32:35

Good morning. Mild and damp here in N. Bucks. No storm for us yesterday but we did have some rain.
We arrived at the restaurant for lunch yesterday only to find it closed ! Two other groups also arrived having booked on line like us. We are waiting for a reply to our email ! Luckily we were able to go elsewhere and it was very pleasant.
We have DD3s dog today so he will keep us busy. Might make a start on taking down the decorations.
Kind thoughts to all.

Grandmabatty Mon 03-Jan-22 08:31:51

Good morning all from Polmont. It's only just daylight, 8°, very windy and pouring rain. Not a day for going far. I hope you all have a good day.

Gingster Mon 03-Jan-22 08:25:45

Good morning all and my post has just disappeared. ?.

Thanks everyone including Marydoll , Kalu and Susan for your prayers and kind wishes for my DD. She ‘might’ be home today but she must keep her foot elevated, so I’m in for a busy (busier) time. Who would think that one little mole could cause all this pain and trouble. Just shows we have to be so careful.

My thoughts are with all those with problems, I’ll health and worries. It’s so lovely that we all care about each other. ❤️.

PS - is it a Bank Holiday today? ?.

Best wishes to all

Good morning everyone from a very windy east coast of Fife.

What a wonderful surprise we both got yesterday when our north of Scotland family called in unexpectedly for a visit. It sure passed the day but boy we were both exhausted after they left. thanks
Must taste my dds homemade soup today. smile

Visitors coming today for a mid morning coffee and news catch up. There’s gonna be tears on all sides.

Needing virtual hugs today.sad

Good morning from still dark S Lanarkshire, the road sounds wet outside.

Back home and contemplating the new year, the usual vague feelings of miraculously improving or at least keeping the house a bit tidier!

Making a start on that today and hopefully including a decent walk. Also going to contact a few people who are well overdue a phone call.

As ever, thinking about those of us needing special support, you are in my prayers. grandMattie, GrannySomerset?

Hope everyone has a decent day and that you are not feeling too bad baubles and I join with others in saying a welcome hello again to Alizarin ???

Grammaretto Mon 03-Jan-22 08:08:18

Good morning all from the windy Scottish Borders. I struggled out with the glass bottle recycling but had already missed the paper and plastic. Neighbour's bin content was flying all over the road. shock
The electrician is supposed to be coming this morning to get on with my kitchen.
A df is coming for soup and a sandwich later.
It is still dark here.
Hope your days go well. I find the dark days after Christmas hard.

baubles Mon 03-Jan-22 08:03:28

Good morning Mick, morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.

I hope your DS’s journey back goes smoothly gMattie.

I barely got off the couch yesterday and felt exhausted by the the end of the day but I will have to summon up energy from somewhere to take down the Christmas decorations today. I was always a ‘never before twelfth night’ person but this hasn’t been a normal Christmas.

Thank you for all your good wishes. Enjoy whatever the day brings.

NanKate Mon 03-Jan-22 08:02:02

Morning Mick and All

A clear morning here in South Bucks hope the sun comes out like yesterday it raised my spirits.

Sent you a reply to your pm Marydoll.

Saw some fab photos of our 2 grandsons at the Harry Potter exhibition in Watford. It looked really good and not tacky.

Enjoy the last Bank Hols for a while folks.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 03-Jan-22 07:59:34

Good morning Mick and all

Today is The Imps 2nd Birthday ? where have those years gone? We are going to a local family run restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner with his cousins and AS 3&4 and wives. I think it will be noisy chaos ??

Not sure anything will get done during the day other than check to see I haven’t missed any Christmas decorations when putting them away (already found four little ones in the kitchen)

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Grandmadinosaur Mon 03-Jan-22 07:57:03

Good morning from East Yorkshire . It is dry after rain overnight. No storm here yesterday.
Got the decorations down yesterday and put away. I too have a particular light arrangement that I leave out for a while longer. Collected my M&S order and did a little top up shop of fresh items. We hadn’t got round to watching Call the midwife from Christmas Day so watched it when the new episode was on last night and will catch up during the week.

Nothing planned for today DH just left for a walk and brought my cup of tea in bed. I’ve been to the couple of places I wanted to this holiday so who knows what today will bring. Perhaps will meet the family.

Safe journey home Brook
Take care everyone.

Ashcombe Mon 03-Jan-22 07:52:35

Good morning, all from an overcast Torbay.

Yesterday, after church, we made a brief visit to the larger Lidl store to take advantage of the special offers on various supports, a brace, back heat pad, etc! Exciting shopping! As we left, torrential rain greeted us for which neither of us was adequately dressed! But we didn’t experience the aforementioned thunderstorm, although DH read the warnings.

Good luck to your DS, grandMattie, with his travel plans; this testing regime for travellers takes some organising. I hope he can soon see the surgeon to complete the removal of the pins from his hand.

Yes, welcome to Alizarin and I hope Susan56 and her DH continue to recover. Two of my neighbours in the apartment block have had Covid over Christmas but are recovering. One is a single mother with two small girls who've also been ill.

The last day of the holiday for those in work - hope it’s a good one. ?????

Daisytwoshoes Mon 03-Jan-22 07:48:01

Good morning to all from Herts and belated Happy New Year!
Hoping you all had a happy Christmas and New Year and a good start to 2022.
Here, with us it has been pretty busy but lovely as well.
We spent Christmas Day with DS1 and family, our first time in forty four years not hosting and away from home. It was a nice treat.
Unfortunately our DS3 could not join us on the day as he was still isolating after having Covid but two days later he was able to come to us for a late Christmassy lunch.
Then on New Year's Eve DS2, DIL and latest baby grandson (three and half months now) came to celebrate the New Year and stay over which was lovely.
Now just getting back to normal and today I will try to find a calendar and top up fruit and veg shopping.
Hoping 2022 will be a good year for all of us, and that those with cares and worries will be supported and comforted.

Vaxxed auto correct. I did proofread but he is a valued manger of the family! (As are they all).
