The only people I know who have acquired Covid, have attended weddings.

When this first started to hit the headlines I was doing my usual going to various shops. When it was lockdown I was reluctant to go anywhere so either did one big shop or shopped on line. I have continued with masks and sanitising etc but I go to various shops. I like the freedom of choice and there are certain products I can’t get in just one store. I think the media try to be one step ahead of competition so they cook up the head lines accordingly.

Nonsense.

Supermarkets are spacious usually whereas trains buses and the tube get crowded quickly. You only need someone near you to breathe over you.

I’be had my shopping delivered since before the pandemic and still caught Covid despite being double jabbed and careful! confused

Nonsense I do a week.y shop and volunteer in a shop three days a week I wear a mask when needed and expected and I wash my hands as I normally would do
It’s a nonsense account not worth reading

Exactly, I was worried because we had tickets to a show in London jan 2nd, worried about being on the tube trains, coffee shop, Pizza Hut for a bite to eat & a packed theatre! Did all this, glad it was on a Sunday as apart from theatre everywhere else was quiet. All facemasks in theatre, did a LFT Monday and Thursday - still negative results.

Ha ha yes! Seems you can’t do much these days if worry too much of catching covid

bevisp1 Sat 08-Jan-22 09:44:19

Yes, me too, I’ve never had covid to date..

bevisp1 Sat 08-Jan-22 09:43:31

Exactly, that’s what I would have thought.

Sorry, but FFS...

Stay indoors. Bar the door. Hold your breath taking the bins out.

We're doomed, doomed I tell you....

Aveline Sat 08-Jan-22 09:40:29

Suspect it's clickbait. Ignore.

We've been doing a weekly food shop throughout and have remained Covid free. How do they know? What are they basing this on?

Lucca Sat 08-Jan-22 09:37:37

I think that’s just a bizarre thing to say…. More likely than people who commute on a crowded train or bus with the Uk reluctance to wear masks ? More likely than those working in schools ?

Aveline Sat 08-Jan-22 09:36:20

Whose research shows that weekly shoppers are most at risk?

bevisp1 Sat 08-Jan-22 09:33:47

According to the papers today, people who do a weekly food-shop are in the highest category to catch covid. Me myself, I do a food shop weekly, I sanitise my hands before going in, still wipe my trolley down, face mask and no longer than 30-45 in a shop. And most of the time I still wipe my food packages down when I get home. I would consider it much safer than working in hospitality or sitting in a bar for 2 hrs or so. Or sitting on a packed train, etc. What’s other people’s thoughts on this.
