six tries at getting the word right..... just one word a day...if the letter turns grey it is not in the word..... etc.

Same here rafichagran. My daughter got me into it and she beat me today (2). It took me three goes.

Well done mollygo.

Wordle was discussed very early this morning on radio 4 world service, Health Check. They said how good it was for stimulating our brains and think that we will get better with practice.

I’ve looked at Absurdle and studied the rules but I can’t get my head around it all

Ah, it’s one of those times of the day…

mokryna re Radio 4
I think that people who aren’t very good at Wordle to start with, will definitely improve with time, but I don’t think if you are ‘naturally’ good with words and their patterns to start with, that you can get better.
I think that 3s and 2s and the occasional dip with a 4 is the best that it can get.
It’s a skill, yes, but there is a great degree of chance and sheer luck too.

5 today envy
First 5 in ages. Thought I’d never get it!

Ashcombe Sun 23-Jan-22 05:47:04

Did it in three but was lucky with first guess. You are right about luck playing a part, FannyCornforth.

kittylester Sun 23-Jan-22 06:17:57

A panicky 5 today.

Oldwoman70 Sun 23-Jan-22 07:06:19

Got it in 3 today

BlueBelle Sun 23-Jan-22 07:27:03

Sunday =3 ?

Grannynannywanny Sun 23-Jan-22 07:34:31

Tried it for the first time today after reading about it here. Took me 4 in 16 minutes. It seems to be the same game as the tv programme Lingo I saw recently on ITV.

tanith Sun 23-Jan-22 08:01:46

Couldn’t get my head round today’s word took 5 goes.

Maggiemaybe Sun 23-Jan-22 08:19:11

4. Clawing my way back from yesterday’s 5.

Visgir1 Sun 23-Jan-22 08:28:12

Either not a "Scooby" or get in 3 like today.

BlueSapphire Sun 23-Jan-22 08:48:12

Got it in 2 again! Just lucky guesses.

TillyTrotter Sun 23-Jan-22 09:12:11

Ditto for me tanith 5 goes. Every letter I chose in the first word I tried was wrong.

Patsy70 Sun 23-Jan-22 09:12:21

3 for me today.

Mollygo Sun 23-Jan-22 09:32:12

3 today, but my first guess was all grey! I almost gave up.
