Good morning all, we were supposed to have sunshine today, no matter, at least it’s dry at the moment in Glasgow but an ominously, heavy grey sky, may change that.

I decided, late afternoon, yesterday, to have a look at Anne with an E on Netflix, I read Anne of Green Gables, one of my favourite books, more than once when I was a child and I was completely hooked into Anne’s world again, a wonderful escape. GD1, 16, mentioned she would like to read Little Women and was delighted when we gave her a hard back copy of the book for Christmas, another book I devoured as a child.

I was pleased to read you have loving support around you GrannySomerset It really does help to have that.
It saddens me to read all you have to bear Marydoll. I hope today’s consultation helps to answer all you need to know.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day and peace of mind for all with worries of any nature, I hope that light at the end of the tunnel isn’t too far off.

Good Morning All x.
A lovely morning so far, blue sky and sun. It does cheer you up when you have brightness like this.
Gagagran gee thanks for the " earworm "--" When morning gilds the skies ", our assembly hymn too at school. Takes me back to 1951 when I was 11 grin. Think I'll hang the towels and bedding out while the going's good, they've been on the maiden so some air would be nice.

Old Tom's having a lie-in again, to which I'm not surprised really as he had a plateful of lamb bits for his supper. I'd saved them for him after mincing what was left and making into burgers, which I had with a lovely brown egg ( fried ) and some spinach. Very restaurantey ! An apple for afters. I know how to live smile

Mainly cleaning today and getting the place in some semblance of order really, then rustle up something for dinner later.
I could have done a days work at 02.45 this morning when I got up to go to the bathroom, I was wide awake as it felt later than it was. I soon changed my mind though but then slept quite deeply for nearly another 5 hours.

Thoughts to * Marydoll* for this next appointment to see what the cardiologist has to say. Hope you'll be alright. x

Safe journey to Olddudders and thoughts to Ashcombe as she waves him off.

More lovely pics, especially the little ones "Scentia* how lovely is that.
I enjoyed seeing the Matt cartoon Urms I was tickled by that one---how true grin, a double take.

Hoping those with troubles/ worries have got some sunshine to lighten their load a bit. Nights are slowly lightening too which is a bonus.

Have a good day everyone and stay safe.xx

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
Enjoyed music club yesterday but felt rusty in one of my solos as haven’t been practicing through travelling south for family funeral.
Off to lunchtime recital in town, will take the bus for a change as it drops me right outside the church.
Can’t keep up my NY resolution to go to bed before 12…
Started new book by Elizabeth Taylor (not the film star) but find it’s short stories not a full length novel, good though.
Hope all goes well for Iris and continued thoughts for GrannySomerset through this difficult time.
Will read through later.

Good morning Mick and all Morningsters. ???
Yippee. We have three days of sun forecast for mid Cornwall. After days of rain, rain, rain, it’s glorious to see.

Special thoughts for those with worries and difficulties to cope with. I know many posters live alone and I hope GN is helping you through the day.

My Marigolds (Sainsbury’s heavy duty ones) are waiting by the bucket of bleach. More black mould will be disappearing today.

???take care all.

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It is a beautiful bright and sunshiny day, but I bet it's cold outside.
I didn't sleep well last night, and that's unusual for me, so my tea was tepid when I drank it, and I feel very stiff.
We may go out for coffee later on and hopefully see some familiar faces. Also call in at Boots and see if my prescriptions are ready, while I am in town.
The knitting I am doing for a friend, is going so slowly, that it's frustrating, but I will carry on, for a bit.
Lovely photo of your GC Scentia. Our daughter had one of those little cars for the grandchildren. It is now about 30 years old, and still popular with little visitors. She didn't have the trailer, and thinks the older ones were bigger than the newer versions.
Best wishes to you Marydoll, for your appointment today. Hope all goes well, and that it doesn't exhaust you.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

I hope you get lots of information from your cardiologist today Marydoll.

No work today as it’s the manager’s day off which means I’ll work Saturday instead. I’m pleased as I can now pop over to DD’s after school to see the children for the first time in ages.

Other than that it will be a quiet day, I’ll have to decide on a recipe to make for DS’s evening meal tomorrow. I always take something I can pop in the oven for them to have when we leave.

Great photos Serendipity and Scentia.

Safe travels for Olddudders and anyone else on the move today.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ??

Blossoming Wed 12-Jan-22 09:38:09

Good morning Mick and everybody. At the moment it’s sunny and dry in my corner of Lancashire, currently 6°C. No real plans for today, laundry ends doing and possibly a walk later. The usual physio exercises and some cycling (indoors) later.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Susan56 Wed 12-Jan-22 09:27:16

Georgesgran, we said the same, we were very surprised it had been taken and yes livid!!

Georgesgran Wed 12-Jan-22 09:16:55

Good morning from Durham where it’s bright, cold and dry.
Car-less today, so house/garden/admin on the menu and I’ve asked (begged) the Paver to come and price up a couple of jobs. He was supposed to come pre-Christmas, but didn’t show up.
Susan56 surprised car badges are still being stolen - in ‘93, I lost 3 in a week and they were £30 each which seemed a lot - I was livid!
However, insignificant compared to other troubles on today’s thread.
Have a good day, if you can. X

Anniebach Wed 12-Jan-22 09:08:38

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Maria59 Wed 12-Jan-22 09:03:47

Good morning very cold here this morning alexa tells me it's 4 degrees but it feels a lot colder I woke during the night feeling really cold. Haven't posted for a few days as we have been doing lots of activities with DGS1 prior to him returning to school on Monday. DGS2 continues to make progress and is starting to look more like himself his speech is slowly returning and he enjoys video calls more. DGS1 taken to school then I am off to hairdressers for rearranged appointment from before Christmas I am hoping the extra pounds will disappear once hair is cut. (If only). Thoughts are with all who are going through tough times.

Nannagarra Wed 12-Jan-22 09:00:34

Good morning from a bright and mild Sefton coast.
Looking after DGdog and picking up DGC from school and nursery are on the agenda today. Before that PMQs will be interesting.
Thinking of GrannySomerset, Gingster’sDD, Iris and others. Have the best day you can everyone.
???

Good morning from a cold but bright South Yorkshire. I missed most of the sunrise by languishing in bed! Today I shall be dragging a reluctant husband round kitchen shops! Our kitchen has had it and we've put it off long enough so off we go wether he likes it or not ?
Have a good day everyone.

harrigran Wed 12-Jan-22 08:54:46

Good morning from a dry, cloudy NE where the sky was streaked with red thirty minutes ago.
SIL is coming this morning to take me shopping, I will stock up for a week and collect my prescription.
Financial advisor rang yesterday and he didn't seem to be talking in Klingon as he was when DH first died, he now works for me grin
Take care Marydoll and thoughts are with the sad and poorly.

Serendipity22 Wed 12-Jan-22 08:52:51

Marydoll
Thoughts with you today for your appointment with the cardiologist. X

aggie Wed 12-Jan-22 08:51:17

Good Morning, cold and brightening, must get on with the crochet blanket , it keeps the brain alert following the pattern and it is now big enough to keep my knees warm ?
I’ll do a few circuits of the garden , it’s amazing how much growth there is . I have anemones in flower , the aubretia is showing a few blooms and a wee bushy thing has white flowers on ! Crocus daffodils and tulips are all poking through . I am hopeful of more magnolia flowers this year , judging by the buds
I hope your appointment reassures you Marydoll xxx
Thinking of those with sadness at the moment and hope brighter days are ahead

Alygran Wed 12-Jan-22 08:47:43

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s dry and mild so far.

Off to pick up a friend and go for a walk at Sutton Bank on the edge of the moors this morning. We won’t be going far as she has osteoporosis and lots of joint pain but assures me that walking is the best thing for her. Lunch at the garden centre after.
I went to a very interesting talk on the Stockton and Darlington railway last night. They hope to open the line as a cycling and walking path for the 200th anniversary in 2025. It’s a very ambitious plan.
Hope all the appointments go well today. Thoughts to all in the sick bay.
Have a good day everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 12-Jan-22 08:46:53

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently a balmy 8°. It's just starting to get light but it might as well not bother as there are low clouds covering. Lovely photo Scentia of your grandchildren. Marydoll take it very easy madam. No shenanigans today. Alizarin a clear day in Cornwall sounds glorious. No wonder us Scots are accused of being dour- cloud, cloud and more cloud!
Yesterday I did very little and was awake coughing for an hour or so in the middle of the night. The earache has subsided but left me with tinnitus and now I have a running nose to add to the beautiful picture. ?
Today will be a rerun of yesterday. I need to tidy the kitchen which I left last night. I have mail which must be sent as it involves a matured endowment policy and a WhatsApp chat with pals this afternoon-if I can hear them through the bells and whistles coming from my ear! Have a good day all

Urmstongran Wed 12-Jan-22 08:40:44

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Malaga - where we have a sky full of grey clouds! Look Pantglas I know you were asked to take some sun back for the others but you didn’t need to take it all.

No plans here. We will potter about (that means playing on here for me) for a bit then we might go out for a walkabout in case we get rain later!

Right, I’m a bit later and there’s 33 messages already so I’ll settle back to read them all.
?

Lins1066 Wed 12-Jan-22 08:34:28

Good morning from a frosty corner of the S Welsh coast, beautiful sunrise earlier.
Today will be spent looking after our little spaniel who was at the vet's being neutered yesterday. He is still a bit disoriented after the anaesthetic.
Stay safe everyone and have a good day.

Newquay Wed 12-Jan-22 08:23:02

Good morning from a frosty Staffs.
Had arranged for nearby lady who works at garage to collect our car this morning to take it in for annual service and MOT-should have garaged car, DH has just had to clear it!
It looks a lovely clear day though so. . .no excuse not to do some housework and clearing up today ?
Had terrible problems with t’internet yesterday meaning I couldn’t get onto my U3A French zoom-very frustrating. For some time we’ve had a couple of French nationals joining us which makes it SO enjoyable.
A young man from Sky had us installing a new modem/router (?) talking us through it over the phone-bet he had to go and lie down after that! ?
Apparently it’s a local outage problem with BT Outreach so not just us-we’re so used to it all just working aren’t we?
Hope all have a good day and thinking especially of those with problems

Mapleleaf Wed 12-Jan-22 08:17:31

Morning all,
Very frosty here in South Yorkshire with a beautiful sunrise.
It looks as if it’s going to be a lovely day.
No plans today other than the usual household jobs, though will probably go for a walk later.

Alizarin Wed 12-Jan-22 08:15:54

Good morning from south Cornwall and what promises to be what I call a St Ives day, sunny, clear and bright. They're rare at the moment so I'll make the most of it, take a bus down there and soak up the beautiful light. I hope the sun shines where you are today.

Scentia Wed 12-Jan-22 08:10:53

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is frosty.
I had a second negative test today so I am free to go!!
Bet Boris will have a positive LFT today so he can’t get to PMQ’s??
Marydoll I do hope you are feeling ok?
Had a lovely day with the DGC yesterday and we played shops most of the day, I feel like I have been on a spending spree!
DGD loves travelling in the back of his car and this picture just melts my heart, she will sit in there for over an hour while he drives her round❤️
Take care everyone and and stay safe and upright in these icy conditions.xx

Marydoll Wed 12-Jan-22 08:06:13
