I’m pleased to hear your consultant took the time to explain everything you need to know Marydoll. A visit from darling Dollie is the best medicine and perfect timing to lift your spirits. Roll on Saturday. ?

Hoping nothing untoward is found on your DD’s scan Harrigran It’s so difficult to bear when our adult DC are dealing with health scares and kissing it better, as we did, when they were children, is no longer an option.

A dreadful night with little sleep, finally nodding off at 6 am sleeping until 12 am. Too late to say good morning so, good afternoon from a brighter day in Glasgow, weather wise anyway, certainly doesn’t apply to my foggy head.

I haven’t read the whole thread but want to add, my thoughts are with Gingster, Chrissielou and GrannySomerset

I hope today is kind to those in need of support and strength for whatever trials life has thrown your way.

hollysteers Thu 13-Jan-22 11:48:14

Scraping in to say good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
House stuff today, have booked the panto for Sunday with friend but only seats left at the back, I do like to be at the front, oh yes I do! As there are lots of cancellations at the moment I may be able to swap them.
Lunchtime concert excellent yesterday, clarinet and piano, the pianist so sympathetic to the soloist and recently appeared on University Challenge.
Thoughts to Chrissielou GrannySomerset?

muse Thu 13-Jan-22 11:45:40

Pleased to hear you have family support around you GrandmaSomerset. Hopefully you will a date soon.

Lots of support and caring thoughts for Chrissielou and Gingster. Big hug for you both.

Well Morningsters, despite the lovely sunny day here in mid Cornwall, I'm inside, cleaning more walls. Needs must.

Take it steady everyone and lots of best wishes for a quick recovery for all those who've tested +ive recently. I still find it frightening how quickly it is travelling.

Good morning from a sunny East Midlands. I am envious Urmastongran.

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 13-Jan-22 11:40:37

Good Morning everyone from a sunny and frosty Oxfordshire, up at 6 this morning making sandwiches and other goodies for all of the people helping MissOops and our nephew move house today, MissOops arthritis is causing her a lot of problems mainly due to her having to go up and down the stairs with boxes. They are moving to a bungalow, thankfully hopefully her symptoms will fade when she has a chance to rest.
chrissielou I was on a similar journey to you 25 years or so ago with MissOops, a life changing experience for her, but she came through it all. ?
Thoughts are with those other Grans who have family worries,
Marydoll knowledge is power and I’m sure you are relieved that at last Doctors are passing information on to you.
I have to nip out with MissOops dog and hopefully also be in for the postman to collect a parcel, not sure how that will work.
Have a good day everyone.

Grandmajean Thu 13-Jan-22 11:18:47

So hard Chrissielou - been there too. Think about you a lot.

EllanVannin Thu 13-Jan-22 11:08:55

Chrissielou Thoughts from us all are with you and your DD xx. Be strong.

EllanVannin Thu 13-Jan-22 11:03:39

Lovely to see you GrannySomerset x

Chrissielou Thu 13-Jan-22 11:02:30

I am now at the hospital, I must just wait for my DD now, but wanted to thank you all for your absolute kindness, I can't tell you how touched I am. This cancer journey will be hard and long but having support is so comforting. Gingster, I am sorry if you and your DD are on a similar path.

GrannySomerset Thu 13-Jan-22 11:01:10

DD and GD1 are here. DD is getting on with planning DH’s thanksgiving/memorial service and is contacting former colleagues for stories even though we still don’t have a date. Looking more and more like early Feb I think. Having done a blitz of necessary admin yesterday I feel pretty indolent today but that is OK.

So sorry about the much loved daughters facing cancer treatment and hope for good outcomes, and my sympathy to all under the weather. Not much to recommend January, is there?

EllanVannin Thu 13-Jan-22 10:46:50

Good Morning All x.
Another beautiful start to the day with sunshine and blue skies, though a tad chilly but I certainly don't mind that so long as you keep on the go.

Just back from my INR appointment at the surgery and all is well I'm glad to say, which I've got to " know " as to how I've felt as it does reflect the reading. Also a general " elderly " test including weight/ appetite etc. Plus the usual annual blood test to check on the CKD and HB. Weight is a few pounds up but nothing to get excited about.
No mention about a second vaccination.
That's it until March.

Every good wish for your DD's forthcoming treatment Chrissielou, a long road ahead but one which also sees many successes x.
Thoughts with you too Marydoll , interesting about genetics being a factor in certain heart conditions as my brother, fit/ strong, travelled the globe with his job until he reached his mid 60's when he collapsed and was diagnosed with Wolffe -Parkinson White syndrome, a condition he was seemingly born with and which hadn't shown itself until older age.

Gingster too has been going through a tough time of late, hoping things improve with your DD but try and look after yourself also.
Always worrying when it's your own flesh and blood who's suffering and I know how it can get you down.
Let's hope the brighter weather will lift the spirits slightly.

Another laugh at Urms's Matt cartoon and their thinly-veiled skits. I love it. smile

Don't know what the day holds really----not a lot I wouldn't have thought, though there's lots I should be doing. I know, I'll put the bins out for starters grin that'll motivate me no end.

Anyway, got to think about dinner for later. I'm thinking a mixed grill today as I noticed a couple of stray lamb chops in the freezer and I can nip to the butcher for sausages. Sorted !

Take great care everyone and stay safe xx.

Gwen, an echocardiogram is the least stressful of all the procedures, I have had. A bit like having a pregnancy scan, but over your chest and boobs, rather than your stomach!
Good luck!

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 13-Jan-22 10:04:10

Good Morning all from Sunny Harrogate. The Sainsburies shopping came early this morning, which is fine.
Sorry to hear there are so many ailing, especially the younger generation. My thoughts are with you Chrissielou, Harrigran and Gingster for your daughters.
Yes, it must be a relief to know what's in front of you Marydoll undoubtedly you will fight the good fight - with help from Dollie
This afternoon I have to have an Echo cardiogram. No idea what's involved, but will find out later. Then it's a zoom chat time with my sisters, both retired nurses, it will be like an inquisition!
Thank you for sending some sunshine over here Pantglas much needed - have you got any left for tomorrow?Urms I do like your daily doses of Matt - he hits the nail on the head every time.
Hope you all have the best day possible

Good morning from south Devon near Dartmoor.
A heavy frost overnight, which makes me realise how little frost we have had this winter so far. But the sun is shining .
Son and partner are coming here later and staying overnight which is lovely. I'm going to do some real housework in a minute.

cornergran Thu 13-Jan-22 09:56:21

Morning Mick morning All from an opticians waiting room. Mr C is bankrupting us with his need for new glasses.

Sun is out in our corner of Somerset so we plan a seafront walk after a restorative coffee. Jolly cold so well wrapped up

Thoughts to all with worries or sadness. Life’s hard for many. Hope Thursday is gentle with us all.

BlueSapphire Thu 13-Jan-22 09:52:19

Meant to add that my thoughts are up in Stockport this morning as I think of my good college friend whose funeral it is today. A very sad day for her family and friends. I am thinking of the good times we had back in the mid 60s, when we were 18, and full of our hopes and dreams for the future. RIP Sue.

BlueSapphire Thu 13-Jan-22 09:42:20

Good morning everyone from a very frosty Northampton. Am showered and dressed early this morning as Sainsbury's are due to deliver within the next hour. Already have the towels in the washing machine as well.

Managed a thorough clean of the study yesterday, did some decluttering and rearranged the shelves. Would like to sort the rats nest of cables, but fear that if I do so much as touch any of them I shall do some damage, and disconnect something important like the router! Perhaps DS or DS-in-law will have a go for me.

Ballet class this afternoon, and have my thermals on as it was so cold last week; shall get the bus down to the village, but then walk home with a friend. Could not think what to have for tea tonight so have ordered a Charlie Bigham fish pie; had one the other week and it was delicious. Which reminds me, must get my extra portions of the chilli I made yesterday into the freezer.

Glad you feel better Marydoll after your visit and chat with the consultant yesterday. And special thoughts to those GNs whose daughters are poorly.

Take care and stay safe everyone.

Marydoll Thu 13-Jan-22 09:40:24

Harri, I hope today is not too worrying for your daughter.

Blossoming Thu 13-Jan-22 09:35:15

Good morning Mick and everybody. At the moment it’s sunny and dry in my corner of Lancashire, currently 6°C. Today we are off to Wensleydale, for some fresh air, scenery and cheese.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Marydoll Thu 13-Jan-22 09:32:05

Chrissielou, my heart goes out to your daughter and her family. She has a long road ahead. With you by her side, I'm sure she will get through the very tough times.
Life is so cruel at times, we would rather suffer ourselves than see our children in pain.
Please remember, to look after yourself too. ?

Nannagarra Thu 13-Jan-22 09:32:02

Good morning from the Sefton coast.
Yesterday lunchtime DS2 tested +ve so we did not pick up our DGC from school and nursery. Luckily he is fairly problem free and the only one in his household to be affected.
Besides dog walking for the same son who has his leg in plaster, general pottering and tidying up are on my agenda today.
Pleasing news that olddudders had a safe journey. What a talented DGD you have Gingster; I really like her work.
My thoughts and best wishes go to the DDs of Chrissielou, Gingster and harrigran.
Have the best day you can everyone. ???

Auntieflo Thu 13-Jan-22 09:27:02

Harrigran, I meant to add my thoughts and prayers for your daughter.

GrannyOwl5 Thu 13-Jan-22 09:26:14

Good morning Mick and everyone from a sunny north Kent coast. It looks beautiful out there.

Thoughts with Chrissie and Gingster and their DDs. Also those struggling with illness, worries or burdens; sending good wishes to you.

Have an empty this morning as DH is playing golf so will spend a few hours doing some painting in acrylic; had my first experience of this at my art class on Monday and really enjoyed using it. The art classes are so enjoyable that I have signed up for the next two sessions running throughout the spring and summer….still can’t draw though ??

Hope you all have as good a day as possible. Take care

Auntieflo Thu 13-Jan-22 09:25:45

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. It's very cold and frosty here.
I have a neighbour popping over for coffee later, so had better get a move on and be ready when she calls.
Today is my beautiful GD's 31st birthday. Where did the years go?
Still awaiting a text to say my prescriptions are waiting to be picked up.
I did manage to find two bras, single packaged, yesterday, but one will have to go back. Why oh why do manufacturers package bras in twos, one of which colour you will never wear?

My thoughts go out to ChrissieLou, Ginster and their daughters. Also to Marydoll, on her long journey trying to find solutions and answers.

To all others with problems to bear, I send gentle {{{hugs}}}

Have a good day one and all.
