Good Morning Thursday 13th January 2022
(63 Posts)Good morning!
I hope you have a lovely day. Stay safe!
Good morning all from a distinctly chilly Torbay, with the rare sight of frost on the cars!
Thank you for all the kind good wishes for oldddudders on his long day travelling back to la Sarthe yesterday. I’m pleased to report that all went well with, firstly, the £30 test at Boots in Exeter being negative, enabling him to continue his rail journey to London and onwards via €* to Paris then by TGV to Le Mans, where friends collected him from the station.
My dental treatment was also very comfortable with my fourth new dentist (all at the same Practice!) in two years! This kind young lady expects to stay for the foreseeable. ?She was very reassuring and completed the awkward filling without causing me any problems, then or since.
I hope the folk with pain or worries of any kind find some relief today. ?????
Good morning from south Cornwall where another sunny day is promised. Six very big square canvasses arrived yesterday, one for each day of the Creation, so I shall spend the day tackling them but will emerge at some point for a walk to the Pier. My immediate neighbour, who runs a bar, looked exhausted last night; her young staff are repeatedly getting Covid and yet it avoids her. They haven't had their boosters yet so maybe that's why. Have the best day you can.
Good morning all from a frosty North Leicestershire.
I conquered mount Everest yesterday so today is admin - I have a list of phone calls a mile long. We also have a Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon.
‘Bore da’ from a cool, dark and dry north Wales ??????? where I’m awaiting delivery of the chamberpot ☕️?
At the risk of another scolding from urms, help yourselves to all ??????? which tumbled out of my suitcase ? and I’ve given Laura structions to get the big bellows out of the Anglesey weatherbarn to blow ???it as far as Inverness where my furthest request came from!
I’ll be trotting to Llandudno for some provisions after a LFT and Full Monty this am and catching up with admin this afternoon.
Pleased to hear old Dudders had as easy a journey home as us - like a military operation as Mr PG says!
Will catch up later with everyone’s doings.....x
Good Morning all from frosty Severnside.
I had a thought when I opened the curtains and saw a car go past. When we first moved into this road many houses had no cars and now most houses have two sometimes three vehicles. All those people who appear on EttC to get away from a busy place they live, it’s happened here too.
Today I’ll get the cleaner out from under the stairs and do the dining room. I need to retrieve a picture that has fallen down behind some shelving. That’ll involve scrabbling around on my knees and trying to get back up again.
Have a good day everyone ❄️?it’s so cold the flamingo is keeping one leg tucked up warm near his body ?
Good morning, it’s dark and frosty in S Hants, lots to look forward to Mick.
I have lifts to sort from yesterday, prescription to collect and a request for cold/flu stuff for son and gf with covid.
I might throw a colour on my hair, it’s looking a bit dull.
Have a good day all, ? for those struggling. And some ?? for all.
Good morning from Shropshire.
Childcare today. The hurricane will be arriving shortly then school pick up for Miss M this afternoon.
Yesterday we booked a long weekend away in the summer holidays for us and the grandchildren? When DD told them she said they were screaming with excitement!I’m not sure she should have told them so soon as M has already started packing!
Thinking of all with worries and struggles?
Take care all and have the best day you can??
Here’s Matt. Always a good start to the day.
Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s just getting light. We are forecast a sunny day after all - so you DID leave some for us Pantsglas thank you! Funny how the long range forecasts can change. Himself prefers to get up and look out of the window.
In an hour I shall strip the beds to wash them with free electricity - two hours at no cost between 9am and 11am as in our tariff.
We will have a stroll into Arroyo for coffee. I love sitting at La Canasta, people watching at the big roundabout with all the gorgeous flowers.
We are meeting friends for dinner at 9pm. (Bit late for my taste but hey ho, they’ve lived in Spain for 20y). They hail from Glasgow, are ardent EU supporters, love Nicola Sturgeon think she’s doing a grand job, would vote for Indy 2 and hate Boris. I shall keep it zipped as usual!
?
They are lovely people and if we steer the conversation away from politics we all get on like a house on fire. Friends feelings are more important than opinions any day.
Goodness, all these posters before me.
Good morning from E Kent where the sky is lemon in readiness for sunrise.
Overslept as DH had an acceptable night and we’re out in a minute. Post later.
A chilly morning and I hope for another cold bright day, yesterday was beautiful. I'm off to the hospital with my DD to begin the preparation to enable treatment for her cancer to begin. 8 months of chemo will start on Monday, with the line being put in today, plus other checks. My brave girl is struggling a little, but as a family, we will get her and her children through this.
Good morning and I haven’t looked out to see if it’s frosty, here in Essex. I do hope not ?
Today I will walk to my friends and get a lift to my bowls club. Dh has the car as he’s going for breakfast with two old school pals. I encouraged him to go, as he’s becoming a real ‘stay at home’, which isn’t good for him.
I’ll check up on DD and if she’s ok I’ll go to my art class this afternoon.
Alizirine - 6 large canvasses! Wow you are going to be busy. ! Please show us your masterpieces as they are progressing.
My Gd (12) sent me a pic of her latest and I’ve commissioned her to do a similar one for me. I love it! She really does have an artistic flair . I’ll try to include a pic.
Hoping you all have a pleasant, peaceful and gentle day. ?
My thoughts are with you and your DD , Chrissie. I think we might be heading the same way. Keep strong! ❤️?
Good morning from a cold, frosty Colchester. Another bright day promised.
DH has gone fishing so I'll take a walk and a mooch around the shops. An empty is also a chance to hoover and mop with no impediment.
I'll also change the sheets and find something for tea. Think that's enough for one day.
Love to all ? x
Morning Mick and all
Gingster thinking of your DD, Chrissielou you, your DD and all the family have a rough 8 months coming, with many ups and unfortunately many downs (((hugs)))
I managed to do something to my back yesterday whilst putting a cup in the dishwasher, have had a rough night as it is is very painful. Will do some stretches and gentle movements first thing to try and loosen it up.
Need to sort out some car admin which I didn’t do yesterday, and find something in the freezer for dinner.
Pleased your DH for back home to France safely Ashcombe
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
Good Morning everyone from a -1.2degrees south coast. The sky is clear and the sun is getting ready to emerge in the eastern sky so I think we shall enjoy another lovely day.
It's my WI meeting this afternoon and I am looking forward to catching up with everyone. There is a sales table so I have a bag of goodies to donate which will raise some funds, Anything not sold is taken to a charity shop so either way will be helpful.
Glad to hear Olddudders is safely back Ash though I expect your home feels very empty this morning with him gone.
Love the artwork too Gingster. Our DGD 2 is also a good artist, especially portraiture and we have portraits of her Dad (DS) and Aunt (DD) on our wall which give us great pleasure every day. She just has that ability to catch a likeness and is applying to do fine art at university this year.
Welcome back Pant and for bringing the
with you! You will soon catch up with the post-holiday chores I am sure.
Have a good day everyone - spring is still on its way!
Heartfelt best wishes going forward for your daughter Chrissielou. x
Good morning from North Yorkshire. The sky is apricot as the sun begins to rise.
Chrissie and Gingster sending you both a big hug. DH had a Hickman line. I hope treatment goes well.
I had a lovely walk yesterday. It was very clear and there were great views from Sutton Bank.
Today another charity group to make coffee for.
Have a good day everyone.
Thinking of you and your daughters Chrissielou and Gingster?
Good morning all from a dark Glasgow, where it's 7°.
I would prefer to have a lie in, but the gas engineer is coming to find out where the leak in our boiler is. We have waited over two weeks for this appointment, I booked it on Boxing Day!
Thank you to those who sent me good wishes yesterday, for my cardiology appointment. It was a bit of a mixed bag!
We had a very pleasant journey, compared to last week. The view from the Erskine bridge, over the River Clyde, looking down towards the Tail 'O The Bank, never fails to lift my spirits.
The cardiologist advised me that the main purpose of the visit was to help with the research and little time was available for a proper consultation.
However, on realising how unwell I was, he took the time to patiently explain what exactly was wrong with me. This has taken three years! In addition, he changed some meds, but unfortunately, my many drug allergies, comorbidities and the fact that little is known about treatment this condition, make it very difficult to treat me. What he did reveal is that they have discovered that there is a genetic element involved.
His intention is to write to my GP and send me a copy of the letter, so that I can chase up my GP, if I hear nothing. Furthermore, he was not impressed that there had been no follow up by any clinician after my heart attack last January. If there is no improvement, there will be a referral to the professor, who is running the research.
The not so good news is that he suspects my RA is now probably affecting my lungs and I may be permanently breathless. That's a bu**er to say the least, its not a good diagnosis. The fear of developing Rheumatoid Lung, has always lurked in the background. It's all become very complicated, as my conditions are impacting on each other.
Despite the news, I feel as if a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders, due to the fact that I had been able to unburden my worries and fears and the new regime may improve things.!
I hadn't mentioned my hospital visits to my sons, only DD, as they are under a lot of stress at work. Unfortunately I got caught out, when DS1 contacted me yesterday and I couldn't reply!
I ended up with calls from two worried boys and a telling off! When DS1 phoned, I could hear a chirping noise in the background. It was Dollie, desperate to speak. Her first words: Gran, would you like a visit from a cheeky wee girl on Saturday and have you bought mint Cornettos for me? my heart was bursting with joy! Perhaps not the best metaphor to use. ?
I haven't read the posts and will be back later. I need to get dressed, in case the engineer arrives.
Good morning from a dry and mild NE.
SIL and I went shopping, I bought greetings cards for all birthdays and anniversaries this year. We then did a massive Morrison's shop, home for lunch and then collected prescription and a few things from Aldi.
While we were out SIL had message from DD to say that she has been called back to the hospital for another scan today. I am worried now, it is unusual to get seen this fast in our area.
DS will be here in less than an hour after he drops GDs off at school in Durham. Today we are going to a cemetery to look for family graves and get some fresh air. This afternoon he will work from my study as he has a video meeting, maybe I will have a snooze before the GDs arrive after school.
Have a good day everyone.
Lovely pictures from Gingster and Alygran.
Thoughts with Chrissielou, Gingster and their daughters. ??
Good morning from a bright Leicestershire.
Better get up as I have Tai Chi this morning.
Thinking of your DD Chrissielou.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s cool and dry.
Childminding today, it’s been a few weeks, I’m so looking forward to seeing the children. DH is dropping daft dug at doggy day care right now having brought me my coffee, I must drag my body out of my cosy bed. DH is the bright, morning person in our house, I think I’m at my best around lunchtime.
Thinking of you and your daughter Chrissielou.
Love the fluidity of the painting Gingster.
Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ??
