Presuming BJ goes.

We’ve all had our say about whether he should go or not.
Why not turn this on its head and say who you would like instead of BJ, and why you think they would be good?
First someone from the Tory party because they’re still in. You may struggle to think of anyone, but give it a go.
Then who you’d like from any party or the party you vote for and why.
I’d vote for Andy Burnham. I know he’s only the Mayor of Greater Manchester now, but I think he’s really developed throughout Covid and he listens to the people.

Lucca Rayner referred to Tory voters as ‘scum’
I think that is what GSM is referring to, as opposed to calling AR scum

Kenver60 Mon 17-Jan-22 18:24:39

Theresa May . She’s genuine never should have left. .

All2gether Mon 17-Jan-22 18:26:48

If I had to choose one from the conservative party it would be Michael Gove, his the only one I can actually listen to! I’ve found he doesn’t answer questions by going round the houses and not actually answering the question put to him!
Andy Burham would be my choice for Labour prime minister, he did such a lot for the Hillsborough Campaign and for the city of Manchester. I think he would be a fair PM and serve both the North and South in equal measure.

I stand corrected.

Casdon

This is a rehashed photo which had already been released last May and the circumstances confirmed. He’s saying it wasn’t a party because it wasn’t a party Nightsky2. That’s why every single newspaper apart from the Mail hasn’t mentioned it. It’s a non story, a failed attempt at a right wing slur.

It’s in todays Telegraph which I have in front of me.

?? it is certainly doing the rounds.

Last May Murdoch decided that it was a non-runner. Now the Johnson supporting papers are scrapping the Sun’s barrel.

The was taken a day or two before the local elections. Starmer is pictured discussing strategy and a takeaway and beverage was ordered in.

Oh well.

I see Cummings is calling Johnson a liar. Takes one to recognise one I guess.

Or so he says. Why did he look so uncomfortable when being interviewed yesterday.

Funny how people are now only too happy to believe everything and anything Cummings has to say. Pot calling the kettle black.

Don’t teachers sometimes hit the nail on the proverbial…

Casdon Mon 17-Jan-22 18:30:33

The headline in the Telegraph today is ‘Johnson questioned by Gray over Partygate’ Nightsky2. Thee may be a minor article about Starmer, but they know it’s a non runner, or it would be in lights on the front page in the Telegraph, which is of course a Tory paper.

GillT57 Mon 17-Jan-22 18:52:56

The pathetic attempts at classifying what Starmer did (beer during pre by-election prep meeting) and the multiple Johnson events are just that, pathetic. I am sure that every Tory supporting newspaper is doing their best to find something incriminating, and failing. To me, it shows that the Tories know they are in bother, maybe the electorate have finally realised what a liar and cheat they have put in office.

Barmeyoldbat Mon 17-Jan-22 19:35:04

Luca, ref your comment about Angela Rayner calling the Tories scum, at least she is not lying and hasn’t Johnson himself often done a bit of name calling, calling Muslim veiled ladies letterbox’s and more.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 17-Jan-22 19:37:48

On reflection scum is quite moderate in the current circumstances.

madeleine45 Mon 17-Jan-22 19:59:22

If we have to have a tory pm I would go back to Theresa May. At least as far as we know she hasnt been lying, cheating, or giving contracts to cronies who dont even hav e business knowledge as an expert in the field required. Yes I agree, John Smith was much missed and mourned as a man of principal and trustworthy. We need more Green party people in the mix, who have taken the trouble to find out information and what possibilities we might use to save energy etc. For instance I was in Sweden over 50 years ago and we stayed in midwinter in a wooden very well insulated bungalow with triple glazing , heated by one small fan heater. Whilst we should be doing all we can to save energy it seems ludicrous when there is so much about electric cars and yet the thing that would make a considerable difference is that if the law insisted that any new buildings would only get planning approval with highest level insulation and triple glazing. They are still building poorly insulated and expensive heating costing properties .If they all had to do it then individual builders couldnt do the usual " well I would like to but the other builders wont and I wouldnt get any business" The overall long term benefit would surely give far more than just using electric cars etc. The triple glazing also meant very quiet places , thus cutting down on neighbour rage etc. If we want things to improve we have to think long term and not just what is going to look good in five years, which is the situation at the moment.

I’m beginning to think that Angela is a good replacement for Dennis Skinner. I’d love to know his thoughts on the current government. I wonder how his constituents feel now about replacing him with a Conservative MP.

Not to mention the dire management and failures of the Greater Manchester police which, for which, somehow he has managed to avoid taking responsibility. Also Chief Secretary to the Treasury at the time of the 2008 crash. His opinions bend with the wind - he sits on the fence then says whatever he thinks is going to be the most popular. No thanks!

Sorry talking about @MerylStreep's comment on Andy Burnham here

"I couldn’t vote for Andy Burnham because of his comments/ handling of the Mid Staffs hospital horror."

Definitely not Priti Patel she's awful. I think Boris is good enough
Labour Kier Starmer was head of CPS when several people made complaints to police about Jimmy Savile. The CPS decided not to prosecute but nothing to do with KS he was just head of CPS at the time. So I will never ever vote for him
Dominic Cummings is behind a witch hunt against Boris. He was sacked mainly for calling Carrie princess nut nut. And can someone tell me why he did not challenge Boris over these parties at the time they happened. Surely he should have raised it in parliament at the time. My guess is he attended them himself. Vile creepy man

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 18-Jan-22 09:12:48

How would Cummings have raised anything in parliament? He’s not an MP.

Valkimob Tue 18-Jan-22 09:47:08

Cant think of a Tory. Yvette Cooper for me.

Lucca didn’t say anything about Rayner calling Tory voters ‘scum’.

And she is anything but a Johnson fan!

Oh please, not the Jimmy Saville thing again. This has been disproved so many times….

So sorry Luca, just read back over the posts and I got it wrong. Don’t know what’s got into me these days I am certainly living up to my name.

Highly unlikely. It will be interesting to see how the next revamp is funded. I tried to find info on how previous revamps were funded without much success.
