Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark but dry start here in Brackley this morning, a day to get back to normal routine after hospital .
I slept longer as well , maybe because of interruption in routine.
Get back to square one as to routine .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from Polmont where it's 5° and lovely clear blue skies. It's colder than of late. I'm glad you are feeling more like yourself Mick. I was woken at half two in the morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I was up having a cuppa at half three so I'm in half shut knife territory this morning. Dd is going to nip in to pick something up but apart from that, I'm staying home. Have a good day all.

Good morning from the Black country where it is a bit warmer no frost on the ground.
Glad you are back home Mick take it easy.
Roast lamb for dinner my favourite, will take a walk through the park and get the paper, other than that a lazy day.
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ?.

Good morning all from central Herts where the weather looks grey but dry at the moment and hopefully it will brighten up a bit later on.
Today should be a relatively quiet day, DS3 will join us for lunch following his booster vaccine. I will prepare steamed chicken, pilaf rice and veg, as well as potato salad which I made yesterday. Maybe we'll have a walk in the afternoon.
This week I heard that our local shopping centre is going to lose M&S, Next and Monsoon all in one swoop. They are relocating apparently due to high rents and rates. Our shopping centre will look like a ghost town, which is typical of many towns all over the country. I suppose it's a sign of the times also, most shopping being done on line now.
Hope you all have a pleasant Sunday whatever you may do.

Good Morning. Chilly here in North Wales.
Glad to see you back Mick. Must have been a nasty shock waking up on the floor and injuring yourself.
Hoping for ☀️ for all who need some today.

Good morning all from a Glasgow, where it's 5°.
I hope you are recovering well after your fright yesterday, Mick. Thank goodness there were no broken bones, you were so fortunate to get such prompt treatment. A bit of a scare for you, to say the least.
We had the loveliest of days yesterday, but I have overdone it, I'm now feeling pretty ropey and lightheaded.

DD and SIL appeared yesterday, having decided to come and clear out our garage, not knowing Dollie was coming. It was not for purely altruistic reasons, but partly because they wanted to store their bikes there, before putting up their flat for sale.
Sadly, my spirit is willing, but physically, garage tidying is just impossible now and I was secretly relieved. It used to be so tidy, housing a car, three bikes and still plenty of space!

Some of you will know that there was an estrangement between DS1 and DIL and the rest of the family, so I was on tenterhook about DS visiting.
Well I needn't have worried. When they arrived, having walked down, DS went straight into the garage to talk to them. I was unaware they were there, since there was no car outside, until a cheeky wee girl appeared in the kitchen, with her lunch order!
The icing on the cake was, when Dollie gave SIL a huge hug and his eyes filled with tears. I overheard him telling her how much he had missed her. ?

However, things didn't go too well with the garage clear out. My children call the garage The nuclear bunker, due to my tendency to bulk buy and hoard tins, cleaning materials, toilet rolls, kitchen roll etc, etc in the event of famine/a pandemic/war/ being snowed in or just being too unwell to go out. I admit to perhaps having being carried away, just a tiny bit!
In addition, every two minutes, I was asked if I wanted to keep items or send them to the tip. So much for a relaxing day.

Eventually, SIL handed me a list of what items I had available, which he was going to type up and send to me! ? Also, he had stacked trays of soft drinks in chronological order and tidied up DH's beer stash!. I was brought out to the garage, to be given a guided tour of the supermarket, so that I would be able to find things in future. ?
I will leave you to draw your own conclusions about SIL, he does like everything to be in a specific order and will not deviate from his plan.
He is such a lovely man, whom I love like a son, he treats me like a queen. ?
Let's just say, I won't be shopping for a considerable time. As my mother would say, I was black affronted. ☺ I am not even going to try and defend myself.

It was an absolute joy, having that wee girl about. She asked if she could go to the secret park with her new scooter. DH was about to refuse, thinking I wasn't well enough. However, I insisted we walk round, having been unable to go the last time. Dollie and DH were not amused, when I kept stopping to chat to people. It took forever.
On their return to pick her up, DIL was embarrassed. Dollie had been warned not to ask about the park, since I was unwell, she had just ignored them. She was a girl with a mission and had been thinking about it all week, she told me.

Today will be a day of reading your posts and the papers, not much else. DD showed me how to pressure cook, then air fry a chicken in my new Ninja yesterday, so that's dinner already sorted. The smells were amazing.
I was too afraid to use the pressure cook function, for fear of blowing up my kitchen! Previously, I would have just tried it, I have become a big feartie ?^

Wishing you all, a pleasant day. For some that won't be possible, with sad memories and sickness abounding on the thread, so prayers and virtual hugs for you all.
DD and SIL plan to continue today, I can't wait! ?

Good morning everyone from Northampton where for once it is not frosty, and the sun is peeping out. Hope it stays dry this afternoon as I have a rugby match to go to. We are playing Ulster in the European Cup. Must remember my lucky socks! And must take a bag of books to give to DD; she has asked to borrow the three I have just read.

It felt like a long day at home yesterday, but I did get my knitting out after a break since before Christmas. Managed to successfully insert a pocket lining which I was quite pleased with.

Bacon butty ahead this morning and a hotpot to put in the slow cooker to come back to after rugby. And a lateral flow test to do.

Sorry to hear about your accident Mick, it must have given you a fright; hope you're feeling better. Take care and stay safe everyone.

Good morning all from sunny Spain ????. I am enjoying a relaxing well here with my lovely friend. Today's plan is to walk into the village for coffee and then chill in the sunshine.
Glad you are ok Mick take it steady now. Wishing you all a lovely day

Good morning from a grey, damp NE.
Sister brought the family tree yesterday and we had a long discussion about various family members, it followed from DS and I searching for and finding the grave of my father's brothers who died when they were in their 20s.
DS and GD stayed quite late as she was in the music room composing some music. Her dad and I now have the music on our phones, a nice piece to relax to.
DD and SIL are coming for dinner tonight and staying over so that we can work on some financial papers tomorrow, hopefully we are coming to the end of all the big stuff.
Heard yesterday that all my cousin's family have covid including the baby, toddler, parents and great grandmother, not hard for them to isolate as they live in a house with large grounds and can be outside without meeting others. Seems as if this will never end.
Take care.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 16-Jan-22 09:59:14

Good Morning all from dry but chilly Harrogate.
Apart from a bit of tidying have not got much planned today at all. I'm not going to church these day until there is less Covid around. The figures are going down here, but not quite enough for me. I've still got some eggs to use up, so might do just a little more baking. There's also a plug that needs wired up, it's been lying around for a few days, probably DH waiting for me to do it.
In this house, Marydoll we don't have a garage, so we have nowhere to store our junk apart from around the house. It's the first house without a garage we have owned.
Take care Mick and stay off those train lines!!
Have the best day you can, folks

Nannytopsy Sun 16-Jan-22 10:03:29

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Glad you are back (nearly) in one piece. Marydoll what a wonderful day for you - I guess you are quite happy to rest today, for that day. IYSWIM.
Off to get some meat from our local butcher - they open on Sunday as they are in a garden centre.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning all from East Yorkshire where there are streaks of a blue sky.

GS is still here after his sleepover. He was good as gold. We made a treasure map before he went to bed and he slept right through. I got up to the loo at 8.15 which I think disturbed him. So he breakfasted on crumpets, mini pain au chocolat and some blueberries. DS and DH have just left for football. They are lucky to have been invited into hospitality. It’s a lunchtime KO so will be getting brunch. I am taking Gs home soon. Mummy is taking him to soft play and lunch. I will go to the village and have a coffee ,a walk and just relax after.

Pleased to hear all’s well Mick but take it easy.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning All x.
Rather dull this morning and I've just had to put the light on as it was getting darker and darker that I couldn't see the keyboard, so Lord knows what gobble-de-gook I could have typed grin

Good to see Mick back after his fall, which shakes you up more than anything else so a rest today is called for.

Loved hearing about the " reunion" Marydoll it was heartwarming and must have felt that way for you too. So glad smile

Had a good laugh at Matt Urms it lifts my mornings.

I was watching a neighbour along the garden earlier who's preparing the newly built rabbit " house " for the occupants. Can't wait to see them when she gets them. I say house because it's not your typical hutch as this one is built upwards. Hope the resident fox doesn't sniff them out ! I'd hate to see fluff all over the lawn.

Must say I enjoyed my chicken Korma yesterday after all the riches from recent weeks, it made a nice change and as predicted there's plenty left over for today, just need to make some fresh rice. An easy dinner for once with only one pan in use instead of 4 !

Well I didn't get any visitors yesterday, so stones have been removed off the mantlepiece-----you watch, I bet they'll breeze along today grin Ah well, I'll just leave a duster on the coffee table as an excuse. One has to have ones wits about them.

Had a good hoovering session yesterday, so just the bedroom to do, but that can wait a day or two.

Darker than ever outside now and it's drizzling. What a come down after a lovely bright week. Never mind I won't be going anywhere just a take it easy day.

I hope everyone is alright and free from lurgies so enjoy the day as much as you can. Stay safe.xx

A late good morning from my bit of S Lanarkshire, nice bright sky which will tempt me out for a walk later if I can stay awake. I am following an online course which promises to help with poor sleeping and the ‘it’ll get worse before it gets better’ part is kicking in. I am exhausted all the time except during the night!

I’m glad you are well again after your frightening experience Mick, anxiety dreams feature in my life too, they are horrible and I hope you get some relief now.
I hope your sleep settles down too Grandmabatty

A happy day for you yesterday Marydoll, that would really lift your spirits, lovely to hear about.

Online mass for me now where I will be remembering all in our group who need support.

Wishing a good day to everyone ???

Chrissielou Sun 16-Jan-22 11:17:50

The sun is shining now after a grey foggy start in Oxfordshire. The fields are very muddy, now the temperatures have risen. I've had a busy morning; up early cooking meals for the week to help DD1 and washing/drying school uniforms for my GC, will pop them over this afternoon. Caught up with DS2/DDiL and GC yesterday, lovely to see them. Roast chicken prepped for us later, will be glad of a sit down by then! grin
Hope you all have a good, happy and restful Sunday.
