Sending love and virtual hugs to soop and mrsoop

brook2704 Tue 08-Feb-22 12:11:42

Sending you both the warmest of hugs soop and support for the days ahead
Like Tilly very wisely says you will take care of each other ❤️❤️

TillyTrotter Tue 08-Feb-22 11:30:21

Thank you for updating us soop
It took courage and we appreciate it; this is a very emotional time for you and your beloved man. You will do what you have always done - take care of each other.
The rest will all fall into place if you have faith. A gentle pair of hugs for you both ? ?

soop Tue 08-Feb-22 11:18:38

Dear you lovely lot, I shall not be lingering as I am feeling slightly stressed. Not entirely for myself but for Mr Soop who is beginning to show signs of tearfulness.

You all KNOW that you are special friends. You will, I'm sure, understand why I am not at my chattiest right now. Much to think about. Much to do. A full day of travels to and from Glasgow tomorrow for pre-op assessment. There is only one way to go...forward. You are in my thoughts. You matter. smile

Charleygirl5 Tue 08-Feb-22 09:09:13

Thank you Mr Soop for the update. soop of course you must spend time sifting through the dreaded paperwork but sorry, I nag again, you must rest.

Tilly what can I say- it is so easily done. If you pay promptly, do not argue the toss it will be 50%.

It puts me to shame reading some ladies blitzing their houses and decluttering. My loft is empty and my garden shed is neat and tidy with no clutter there-shame about the house.

cornergran Mon 07-Feb-22 22:53:02

Many thanks for the update mr soop, all systems go now.

I’ve read all your messages, too many to reply without leaving someone out so I’ll just wish you all well.

Decent day today, a wander along the sea front before the rains came - again! A little shopping while we were out , some internet shopping when I got home, remembered to complete the grocery order and still had time for some chatting. What else could I want?

Sleep well everyone.

dragonfly46 Mon 07-Feb-22 22:33:33

Just popped in to thank MrSoop for taking the trouble to update us. I will be thinking of you next week soop.

SueDonim Mon 07-Feb-22 22:18:19

Thank you for the Soop update! Nearly there….smile

What a fab cake, Granmarie!

We finally got to see our dd and the two weans yesterday. The 4yo was thrilled to see us again after a month. We seem to have had an amazing effect on the 4mo as he slept all night from 7:30 until the morning. He’s grown so much, he’s bursting out of his 3-6mth age clothes already and he won’t be in his crib for much longer, either.

Grandmabatty it’s exhausting when small children are cooped up. My GD has just had Covid, along with mum & dad, and had to stay in for ten days. They were all climbing the walls by the time they regained their freedom.

Today we’ve just about finished our Grand Declutter. The less said about the garage, the better, but I’m astonished at how much room we have. Also, I have worktops in the kitchen! grin

This is all a prelude to downsizing, now all the dc have fled the nest. I don’t know when that will happen but hopefully there will be exciting change in the future for us.

Sweet dreams, all! Xx

Yiayia4 Mon 07-Feb-22 22:06:49

Thank you Mr. Soop for the update.
Thinking of you both not long now.?

Aldom Mon 07-Feb-22 20:57:20

Mr Soop thank you so much for sending me the update regarding Soop's operation. I'm keeping you both and your family in my thoughts. Hoping for the best possible outcome. flowers

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 07-Feb-22 20:09:11

Thank you MrSoop for updating us. Thank you soop too. Please look after yourself and relax (probably impossible) for a few days.
Spent the day doing small stuff with granddaughter. Crayoning in unicorns/putting Peppa Pig on various fairground toys etc. Never spent hour after hour doing that with my little ones. Always shooting off to make a bed/put a wash on etc. I look after her at her house so no chores to do.
Back tomorrow. Blitzed house on return for about forty five mins. Will tackle things on Wednesday. TOYA

Grannmarie Mon 07-Feb-22 19:30:26

Thanks, Brook.

brook2704 Mon 07-Feb-22 18:30:35

Love the cake grannmarie how clever! Hope your DGS had a lovely birthday ???
I feel your pain grandmabatty, sometimes the little ones are a real handful aren’t they but well done to your DD for her patience - a good mum there! Hope the chicken pox isn’t giving too much trouble to the younger one
Sorry to hear about the parking ticket Tilly ☹️
Just about to get the dinner on so will pop back later

Grannmarie Mon 07-Feb-22 18:28:46

Thanks, Jaxjacky, I have never been a baker, the digger cake was created by a talented local baker after DDIL2 explained what she had in mind. It was much admired, especially by Papa and the Uncles!
I have had a housework day, stripping bed, hoovering, mopping, two loads of washing, my house is like The Steamie. Planning chicken stir fry now, then early bath, goonie on, feet up for Marion Keyes interview later tonight on BBC. We saw her at her book signing in Glasgow years ago, she is very entertaining.

‘Evening All’

My plans went west today. My lunch buddy had an SOS from her daughter. (Heating engineer on way). We’ve rescheduled for tomorrow so that’s nice.

Anyway Himself decided to be Mr.Spontaneous (love it). ‘Ck on let’s go somewhere. So at 10:30am we set off. Just followed our noses really. Got as far a Chorley - this side of Preston. It’s always raining there. We carried on driving at least the car had a good run. It was just nice to be out and about. Looped back, found a pub we liked the look of so parked up and went in just after noon for lunch. Very nice.

I’m going to watch the new BBC drama tonight. ‘Chloe’. It looks promising. 6 x 1hr episodes. All up already on iPlayer so I’m going to binge watch the first 2, starting now. Also Sheridan Smith is on ITV at 9pm in a new 4 part drama. I shall have to forgo all the housework I do otherwise I’ll never fit in all my viewings.

Isn’t Mr.Soop just the most lovely man? No wonder our soop loves him so. Very kind & thoughtful of him to keep us all updated.

brook2704 Mon 07-Feb-22 17:53:22

Thanks so much to mr soop for todays update ?

TillyTrotter Mon 07-Feb-22 17:50:53

If you are seconding kitty ‘s post GrannyGravy ,
I third it! ?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 07-Feb-22 17:47:02

I can only echo what kittylester has posted, us lot will be here waiting for you try to get some rest before the day

kittylester Mon 07-Feb-22 17:29:07

soop, everyone knows what a lot you have going on with your upcoming 'you know what' and we want you to get organised and ready without stress. We will be here, wishing you well, with everything crossed waiting to hear from MrS as soon as possible.

soop Mon 07-Feb-22 17:21:54

Dearest you lovely lot, Mr Soop and I have spent hours dealing with all manner of important stuff regarding the forthcoming you know what. We now have a shared head-ache. However, right now, we appear to be on course for a momentous event. Preparing for friends to house-sit and creature feed. Stressful times but...we are winning, methinks.

So sorry not to have spent quality time with you in our kitchen. You will, I'm certain, be understanding.

I send you all my love and very best wishes. Tomorrow may be an easier day for us to negotiate. If so, I shall be back with you. smile moon

Grandmabatty Mon 07-Feb-22 16:49:30

Tillytrotter oh no! A parking ticket! That is very annoying. JaxJacky I suppose we must have done something right to have such wise daughters. I reckon for me it's less being a good role model and more a terrible warning ☺️

Blossoming Mon 07-Feb-22 16:48:58

Good afternoon lovely Kitcheners. I went out for my walk early today, and I’m glad I did as its been raining non-stop ever since!

Mr. B and I have been going through all the various documents relating to his pension funds. He reaches state pension age next year (he is younger than me) and we want to make sure everything is in place. I’m glad that’s out of the way.

Hope everyone is well x

ixion Mon 07-Feb-22 16:48:29

Thank you to Mr.Soop for taking the time to add another update for us?
I was heartily thankful to read that you have been able to factor in some accommodation nearby which will put both your minds at rest, being so close to each other.
Plus, not to be underestimated, removing the need for long and potentially stressful driving.
You'll soon be off to The Repair Shop ?
Everything crossed ?

Jaxjacky Mon 07-Feb-22 16:45:27

Grandmabatty my daughter is the same, endless patience and explanations in a calming voice, she didn’t get it from me.
Amazing cake, someone had patience to make that too Grannmarie, not my forte at all.
A taster muse how did you land that? Do M&S require one I wonder.
A frenzy of cleaning this morning, cooker, hob, hood, fridge and microwave, I felt quite virtuous, washed to floor to finish up. Hoovering can wait until tomorrow, spreading the chores out.
It’s felt cold today, but I was sat, sorting out house insurance renewal, now done, I’ve reduced it by about £30, worth the time spent.
Dinner is marinated chicken breasts with veg, all ready to go later.
Thank you Mrsoop for the progress report, the time has gone so quickly since the fund raising started.
TTFN x
