Thanks for letting us know Baggs, I’m out of sync with everyone having just had to do a massive catch up and I hadn’t realised that soop would actually be in hospital already. So lots and lots of good vibes coming up to Scotland from me with some especially for Mr soop to keep his spirits up until he’s allowed to see his loved one again. There are stages of a hospital stay when patients need visitors.

Love, prayers and virtual flowers will have to do ???

Thank you for the news Baggs. Hopefully, soop will be ringing MrSoop and him to her. Cream cakes - what a lovely idea.

TillyTrotter Sat 12-Feb-22 13:00:44

I am dim - soop has to eat cream cakes!
I have sneaked back in with a large bowl of whipped cream to dollop on .

BladeAnnie, many congratulations and admiration for the work you put in to retain your qualifications. As I seem to have the concentration of a flea at the moment I really admire you.

Nannagarra Sat 12-Feb-22 13:33:59

Thank you for the update Baggs. Sending my very best wishes to soop.

Baggs Sat 12-Feb-22 13:39:24

Marydoll

Sending my very best wishes too.
That's sad about Mr Soop, which obviously means no visitors.
I would have gladly popped in, as Kalu would do too.

Yes. I first met the soops in hospital (might even have been Ross Hall) almost eleven years ago now after soop had had a hip replacement operation. I was clueless about Glasgow's layout back then (only slightly less clueless now, truth be told) and borrowed MrB's iphone for the route instructions.

Sweetpeasue Sat 12-Feb-22 13:58:50

All our best wishes from DH and myself. Thinking of you both. ?

Nannyfaraway Sat 12-Feb-22 14:38:47

Thanks for the update Baggs
Sending my best wishes to Soop and Mr Soop
I will join in with the cream cake eating

Dogsmakemesmile Sat 12-Feb-22 15:14:23

Afternoon everyone. Like the rest of you I keep thinking of soop and willing her a swift recovery from her operation tomorrow.
Many thanks for gingerbread recipes. Typically kind and thoughtful of soop's gang.
A big shop done, tea prepared and house not bad. Took ddog out earlier. He is determined to return to one of his favourite haunts but I am not ready to tackle. So long stand offs on the pavement. His determination used to infuriate but now I am so happy to out there holding his lead. I stand there grinning. He sits there looking sad. I know it's a bit bonkers to love a dog so much but I do. I had no idea the admission date was today but birdbrain forgot about the pre-op [reparation which I will skim over.

This time tomorrow surgery will be almost over and hopefully Mr.Soop will be allowed to visit.

Perhaps Marydoll and Kalu will be allowed to visit postoperatively, otherwise it is a long, dreary day with the TV to keep you occupied if you are desperate.

BladeAnnie Sat 12-Feb-22 16:31:49

Good afternoon dear kitcheners. Thank you DustyAngel - I feel I've still got something to give. Baggs thank you for the update on soop - cream cakes all around ????

dustyangel Sat 12-Feb-22 16:38:13

OK lovely kitchen friends, was this really a good look for going
out to lunch?
And nobody told me! When we were seated after quite a long wait despite having booked, I eventually realised but by then I’d said hello to several people, mostly taller than me, who must have noticed.
When I took my mask off I could feel something different in my hair and DH admitted he hadn’t noticed anything different about me. Maybe they all thought it was a modern hair ornament, or maybe they thought, “poor old soul is definitely losing it. grin

Good evening, lovely Kitchen people, I'm just catching up with all the news, we're away for the weekend to Portpatrick, picturesque fishing port in SW Scotland, 6 miles from Stranraer. We came here often when the boys were wee.
Thank you ladies for the beautiful photos and delicious treats, I don't mind if I do, my new eating plan starts on Monday !
Thank you Baggs for the update on Soop and her dear man, they are in my thoughts and prayers.
It's been wet and very windy this afternoon, but the sun is peeking out now, sending a warm glow over the harbour and seafront. The waves are big white horses crashing on the rocks.

Gagagran Sat 12-Feb-22 18:06:28

You are both very much in all our thoughts dear Soop and MrSoop- we are holding you both close to our hearts. It may feel a long night tonight but the dawn will come and the day will see the long awaited surgery to put an end to your suffering. Onwards then upwards. sunshineflowers

Hello dear Kitcheners, today was a day of doing nothing much. Grey, miserable weather, did some laundry, rode my exercise bike as it wasn’t fit for walking. Thank you Baggs for the update, looking forward to hearing good news tomorrow or Monday. If MrSoop is reading, we are all thinking of you and your dear wife flowers

Doodle Sat 12-Feb-22 20:03:17

Yiayia thanks for the photos. It’s a lovely park and we enjoyed our visits there. It’s a bit far away from where we are so haven’t been there since my brother died but he and my SIL used to go there often.
Dustyangel what lovely colour hair you have. I’m sure they thought your pink hair accessory was very fetching ?
Baggs thanks for the update. We had cream on our cake tonight in support. Please pass on our love ?
Thinking of Mr Soop and hoping he’s ok. What a shame they can’t be together.
Take care all

mrshat Sat 12-Feb-22 20:16:27

Jaxjacky Sat 12-Feb-22 20:42:13

I can sense your joy dogsmakene ?
No visitors allowed in our local hospitals Charleygirl S England, covid numbers are falling, but they won’t take the risk.
Oh dusty, sorry, but funny, I’d be having words with a few people!
Enjoy your break Grannmarie sounds wonderful.
Stir fry made and eaten, one pan wonder, glass of on the go, enjoy your evening all.
I hope both Mr&Mrssoop get at least some rest tonight.

Marmite32 Sat 12-Feb-22 21:17:01

I hope Soop gets some sleep tonight. Mr Soop too.
And I'll be thinking and praying for them both at midday tomorrow.
Thanks for the update Baggs. I'm not surprised about the ban on visitors.

Urmstongran Sat 12-Feb-22 21:23:01

‘Evening All’

Golly, it’s been Baltic around here today! I think this has been the coldest day of winter we’ve had so far. We’ve had a lovely family afternoon and dinner out.

I imagine soop will be feeling pretty hollowed out now ready for her surgery tomorrow lunchtime. Thank you Baggs for your messages. I’m another hoping all goes well and I shall look at the clock tomorrow at 12:30pm and think of her in Theatre.

Grannmarie Sat 12-Feb-22 21:56:34

Thank you, Jaxjacky, we're chilling with a glass of wine after a nice meal, Valentine's menu? down at the harbour, sea view table overlooking the lighthouse.
We head home tomorrow, stopping off to visit DS1'S family. They're at their holiday home on the west coast, DGS1 and DGD are off school for the February break. Looking forward to seeing them, they missed DGS2's birthday party last week cos of Covid, I'm so thankful they have recovered quickly ?.
Hoping that Soop can have a good sleep tonight, Mr Soop too, it's the waiting and worrying that is so stressful. We'll all be watching the clock tomorrow and 'storming Heaven ' , as my dear Mum used to say, on Soop's behalf.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, especially if you are meeting up with family for the school break.
