soop, that’s just so unfair if you’re getting another UTI. I hope you get onto the antibiotics quickly.
As others have said, it was kind of your lovely Mr soop to email us, and like everyone else I’m delighted you’ve reached the target. Well deserved!
Aldom, lovely flowers but such a sad message. ?

brook2704 Mon 24-Jan-22 21:10:42

Hope you enjoyed your glass of white wine Yia and you start to feel a bit better soon

brook2704 Mon 24-Jan-22 21:08:32

Oh Doodle don’t make me laugh like that, I almost spilt my tea! ?

TillyTrotter Mon 24-Jan-22 21:02:17

I felt very sad reading about your brother Aldom. Life just ain’t fair sometimes is it?
Your flowers are beautiful and a late Happy Birthday to you. ?

brook2704 Mon 24-Jan-22 21:01:03

Lovely birthday flowers Aldom, I hope you enjoyed your Birthday. So sorry to hear about your brothers though, a sad time for you and your family ?

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 24-Jan-22 20:57:59

Beautiful flowers Aldom . I am so sorry to read of your brother's health and your loss of your other brother.
Yia hope you start feeling better soon. Lins what lovely news! Congratulations.
Grandmabatty don't do too much!
Quiet day (relatively) with little Gd. Lots of colouring in of unicorns and watching The Baby Club. Just completed an on line shop. Cupboards not bare but some essentials missing. Have managed to grab a 4-6 slot tomorrow. V lucky. What would our mothers have thought of that?
Worked all weekend. Great teams both days. TOYA

Jaxjacky Mon 24-Jan-22 20:21:56

Aldom beautiful but bittersweet flowers for you x.
Many Happy Returns?
Hope the steroids kick in quickly Yia.

Doodle Mon 24-Jan-22 19:39:15

Grandmabatty glad you are feeling a bit better. Have a nice time with your DD and the boys.
Lins I hope you are enjoying lots of cuddles with the new arrival.
Brook aqua class in the gym….doesn’t it make the floor a bit wet, or do you do what my DGC used to do. Lay stomach down on a chair and pretend to swim.?
Chicken soup. Lovely Granmarie thank you.
Yiayia hope the steroids help and you feel better soon.
Have a good evening all

Aldom Mon 24-Jan-22 19:35:47

Thank you Mr. Soop for your thoughtful message. It's good to see the Gofundme page looking so healthy. Hoping it will not be long before Soop is also 'looking healthy'.
My phone has been flat all day as I forgot to bring my phone charger home from my daughter's yesterday. I've just celebrated my 79th birthday. Here are the flowers my brother sent me. He is ill with terminal cancer. My other brother died of a similar cancer last August. My brothers are much younger than me.

Yiayia4 Mon 24-Jan-22 17:54:48

Good Evening all.
Thant you Mr.Soop for the e.mail happy it’s all going well, won’t be long now.
Pleased your feeling better Grandmabatty sounds like a nasty virus.

I saw my Rheumatologist today,he put be back on the steroids said I really need them for all the inflammation I have, so should start to feel better very soon,G.P stopped them!!He also said not to be pushed into having my joint replacements until I feel well and ready to cope.In all a good consultation and has made be feel a bit more cheerful.

Salmon and roasted veg tonight with maybe a wee glass of white even though it’s Monday.Enjoy the tourist Jax and Soop we did.

soop Mon 24-Jan-22 17:25:23

Thinking of you ALL. Goodnight and remain safe and warm. Until tomorrow. smile moon

Grandmabatty Mon 24-Jan-22 17:13:12

At one point dgs2 was yelling in my arms because he was tired and hungry while chicken pox Charlie was shouting "Grandma, I need a big pee!" His mum had disappeared to Tesco to get calamine lotion and other necessities. It was definitely a challenge! The family are away and I'm sitting on the couch watching The World at War which is a blooming sight more peaceful than Batty Towers was earlier. I hope you are all well and I'll be back later. Thanks for the chicken soup Grannmarie. I need it.

Urmstongran Mon 24-Jan-22 16:22:31

No Dixon. It wouldn’t send with my post!

Urmstongran Mon 24-Jan-22 16:21:09

‘Evening All’

Bit early, but we are an hour ahead.
Budge up TillyTrotter that seat by the cosy fire sounds wonderful. It’s blimmin’ cold out here today!

Himself is sat filling out our locator form and QR code for Day 2 PCRs (this sounds like Bletchley Park speak) for our homeward flight on Wednesday. I’m keeping quiet as a mouse ?
It’s a bit stressful.

No more of this hassle soon. Travel restrictions are being scrapped in time for February half term. Great news.

I expect many of you Scottish grans will be thinking about and maybe preparing for Burn’s Night suppers tomorrow!

Blossoming Mon 24-Jan-22 16:13:10

It’s turning cold and misty here, but I put the Wonder Woman sparkly pants on (wonder if they do them in thermals) and went out for a walk. Just back in, a bowl of chicken soup would go down nicely Granmarie

I have set myself an intention to go out for a walk every day, but it was tough leaving my warm, comfy chair today. I’m not settling a target , a short walk may be all I can manage.

I have taken some moody, misty photos but I need to charge the camera battery before I can download them.

Jaxjacky Mon 24-Jan-22 16:12:43

I was wrong soop goodness knows why I thought the last episode was yesterday, daft, another week to go. I too was thrilled with the email from Mrsoop, thank you.,
You’re on for a bbq brook Finley will love hot dogs, I’ll do veggie for Imogen, won’t be too long now!
I’m pleased that hopefully, your dratted bug has pushed off Grandmabatty a long time to feel poorly.
Our clearing out of under the stairs and the shed seem to have become an annual event Grannmarie ‘have space, will fill it’ must be our motto.
I’ve just been out for a walk, it’s so dull and chilly, seems like almost the whole of January has been grey.
TTFN

soop Mon 24-Jan-22 15:38:35

Maggiemaybe Oh yes you are...a Kitchener. Us lot welcome you.

Grandmabatty you are on the road to recovery. Well done. Gentle (hugs). Keep up the good work. Chicken Pox is unpleasant. Good wishes to your grandson. You are a good granny. X
Thank you for the hearty bowl of chicken soup.

soop Mon 24-Jan-22 15:31:38

Huge congratulations on the safe arrival of your bonny baby granddaughter. Good times lie in store. There will be much well deserved celebrating. flowers

TillyTrotter Your replica Christmas Day all-day treat sounds wonderful. Lots of blether and shared laughter. There are fewer things better for the soul.

corner It is only mid afternoon and yet, I am feeling utterly exhausted. Lots of wees suggest that a UTI is in the making. Sample will go to the surgery in the morning.

Mr Soop enjoyed putting into words the gratitude that will continue to feel for all your support in our hour of need. The sooner I go in for the surgery, the sooner I can return home. That one thought will sustain me.

SueD Please will you refrain from adding to my guilt. wink You are bursting with energy and such. I would really appreciate a taste of your boundless get-up and go.

I have promised our wee hoos an early spring clean. No way can I go into hospital without ensuring that the homestead is polished to perfection. grin

Jax Here in bonnie Scotland, we have one further episode of The Tourist to look forward to. Last night's was, at times, somewhat baffling. Very clever script. Superb acting.

Lins1066 Mon 24-Jan-22 15:10:23

Thank you brook sorry your class was cancelled. You being in Costa reminds me, I've had an email saying they will cancel my card if I don't use it by the end end of the month. Our last coffee there was pre pandemic.
Many thanks to you Grannmarie. I need to do a lot of clearing out, the Swedish Death Cleaning Workbook sounds interesting. Mr Lins is a hoarder ?
We need a plumber to do a few small jobs but it is proving very difficult to secure one in our neck of the woods.

Grannmarie Mon 24-Jan-22 14:25:32

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people smile.
Dear Mr Soop, thank you very much for the update email, very thoughtful of you!

Lins, many congratulations on the safe delivery of your precious baby granddaughter, such a happy time for you and yours. ?

SueD, you have inspired so many Kitchen people with your clearing out! I've finally made a start on the glory hole under the stairs. My electric meter is there, and I'm getting a smart meter fitted on Friday, so I've been fairly ruthless, for me... I've been to the charity shop this morning with my singer sewing machine, my 16th birthday present, unused for years now. Also been to the skip...I am going to try to clear out something each week now, I've downloaded the Swedish Death Cleaning workbook, free. on kindle unlimited .

Brook, fingers crossed ? for your trip to your DS in Switzerland.

Grandmabatty, glad you are feeling a wee bit better now. I've started watching Hidden Assets too, having binge watched all of Ozark season 4 episodes 1-7....very compulsive!

My plumber and his mate have just left after repairing a leak from my wash hand basin. They've both had Covid since they replaced my outdoor tap last summer, the mate was seriously ill in hospital despite having all his jags, it's still a worry.

I'm making chicken soup now to take through to DS2, DDIL2 and DGS2, but I'll leave plenty on the side to warm you up!
We'll drive through this evening when motorway is quieter, childcare Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wishing you all well, take care, TOYA.

brook2704 Mon 24-Jan-22 13:47:18

Thank you for the lovely flowers Tilly they really brighten up January. Your day yesterday sounded really enjoyable too, so pleased you enjoyed it
So good to see you back in the kitchen lins with the worrying times behind you. A gorgeous new baby in the family too - lucky you!
A warm kitchen welcome to maggie everyone is always very welcome here so please pop back when you can
Hoping you’re feeling much better grandmabatty and your DGS is ok too, poor lamb! Hope they’re not too itchy if it is chicken pox
My aqua class at the gym was cancelled so I came straight into town to do a bit of shopping. It’s very quiet even for a Monday so I’m just having a cup of tea and a sandwich in Costa and catching up on here. M&S have the last of their sale things out with the yellow stickers but there’s nothing much that appeals to me so I’ve not got any bargains!!

Lins1066 Mon 24-Jan-22 12:30:11

Thank you Tilly, she's a lovely kind hearted girl and is far more a dil to us than our ex dil was in 13 years. You always have the most beautiful flowers, your kitchen sounds very inviting. It is cold and grey here, what my mother would have called 'raw'.

Maggiemaybe Mon 24-Jan-22 10:31:26

I’m not a kitchener smile, but just popped in to say how thoughtful it was of your DH to update us on your progress, soop. And to pass on my very best wishes for your op and speedy recovery. thanks

Blossoming Mon 24-Jan-22 09:43:14

Good morning dear Kitcheners. Hope that virus has taken the hint that it’s not welcome Grandmabatty, have a lovely time with your family.

Grandmabatty Mon 24-Jan-22 09:36:10

Thank you all. The sore throat has subsided this morning so I'm hoping I can wave goodbye to the virus. Still a bit deaf but that can come in handy. I am getting an unexpected visit from dd and the boys today. Dgs1 has possibly chicken pox! That means no playgroup. As sil isn't feeling well, I suggested she comes down for a visit. I'll catch you on the other side. Tara for now.
