Good morning dear Kitcheners. Phone call from Ross Hall last evening confirmed date of surgery Sunday February 13th.

I have to busy myself for part of today. Will return this afternoon. A big group (((hug)))

GrannyGravy13 Wed 26-Jan-22 10:51:34

Oh soop how reassuring to have confirmation of your op ??

Urmstongran Wed 26-Jan-22 10:59:18

Hello Kitcheners. Sorry I can’t bring back any sunshine it’s another chilly & grey day here!

Excellent news soop that you have a date to work towards mentally now. It will soon come around.

We are at Malaga airport. It is VERY quiet. No queues anywhere, not at passport control - we went straight through ‘belts and shoes’ as I call it. No queue in duty free either. The staff are bored I bet, polishing the display shelves.

Off to eat an early lunch now in Giraffe World Kitchen - their food is always delicious. Only about 20% busy, lots of empty tables. Sad really that their are so few travellers.

That's good news Soop. It won't be long.? I've dropped clothes off at the charity shop, picked up my prescription and am now having a cuppa. Mum cancelled my visit as she was going back to bed. I'm not sure what I will do today. Beef stew with dumplings for dinner.

Jaxjacky Wed 26-Jan-22 12:43:35

What good news soop you’ve come so far.

Susan56 Wed 26-Jan-22 12:46:19

SueDonim Wed 26-Jan-22 13:52:48

Less than three weeks, Soop! ?

I awoke to a number of messages from my dd1. Covid has finally made inroads into our family. sad Her 4yo dd and her Dh both have Covid. Dd herself is unwell but LF’s have been neg. They’ve all had PCR’s done this morning. Luckily the baby is well, although he was supposed to get his baby inoculations tomorrow.

TillyTrotter Wed 26-Jan-22 15:01:04

The days can’t pass quickly enough until 13th Feb soop.
It is possibly the most important date on your calendar this year ?

TillyTrotter Wed 26-Jan-22 15:03:06

Oh dear SueDonim, a worrying week ahead for you.
I hope they do not suffer too badly.

Nannytopsy Wed 26-Jan-22 15:10:54

The days will soon pass soop - look how quickly Urms holiday has flown by.
It’s a washing and ironing day today. Everything dry is ironed so far but it won’t last. Time to load the machine again.

brook2704 Wed 26-Jan-22 15:12:12

That’s great news soop it’ll soon be here, I’m so pleased for you
Oh Sue hoping the family aren’t too poorly and recover quickly
I did my aqua class earlier and now
I’m sat at the hairdressers, the colour has been applied and is just doing it’s magic in covering the greys .. my hairdresser has kindly made me a large cup of tea and even supplied biscuits so all is well …
Hoping Urms enjoyed lunch at Giraffe and is now settled safely on the plane and home very soon

Dogsmakemesmile Wed 26-Jan-22 15:57:52

Very pleased for you Soop. Not long. Though it will seem like it...Sue sorry that covid has hit the family. Fingers crossed it will be swift and mild. You will worry.
Urms hope the journey keeps going well. You may even be home.
Made bread, soup and then tackled a job application. Discovered I had thrown away various certificates/pages of information that would have helped considerably but marched on. I don't look very much on paper... Seeing it as good experience. TOYA

An electrician came today to do two jobs and brought the sun with him but unfortunately took it with him when he left- a bit mean- I did pay him.

soop that is the best news this week- the time will flash past.
TOYA

GrannySomerset Wed 26-Jan-22 17:21:28

Such good news, Soop. Light at the end of the tunnel!

Grandmajean Wed 26-Jan-22 17:27:12

Really good news ,Soop That's only about three weeks !

soop Wed 26-Jan-22 17:37:27

Wow! I did not expect so many kindly messages from you lovely lot.

Truth is, I am needing to tie up many loose ends in a short space of time. All a bit of a shock. The first time that I ever met Baggs was in Ross Hall where I was referred by the NHS for hip replacement surgery (because, at that time, I had been on the waiting list for yonks). Baggs walked into my room and we immediately hit it off.

I so wish that I could have visitors this time around. I believe that Covid will have put to an end to such pleasantries. Wouldn't it be lovely if we could all have a pre-op celebration. wink

I have two pet portraits that now need urgent attention. In between other must-dos I shall do my best to complete them.

Sue My thoughts and best wishes go out to your family who have the dreaded lurgy. I hope with all my heart that the baby remains well. Please keep us updated.

I have made an appointment to get my hair trimmed. It's a bithee, bithee time. Thank you all for your support. I appreciate it.

Until tomorrow. TOYA smile moon

mrshat Wed 26-Jan-22 17:55:10

Great news soop. It will be here before you know it!! wink

BlueBalou Wed 26-Jan-22 17:56:31

Hugs to you both Soop, that makes it all even more real doesn’t it, having a date?
I’ve decanted 5 boxes of glass, China, linen etc to charity shop, taken DH to B&Q to buy an extension lead, orchid compost and new clear orchid pits (mine are so old they’re cracking when you pick them up, so brittle. Then a wander around Lidl’s and home.
It’s been chilly here all day, not a frost but that cold, grey, joy-sapping sort of gloom. Let’s hope there’s sunshine tomorrow!

brook2704 Wed 26-Jan-22 18:00:27

Lovely to hear from you soop I expect you will be busy between now and the 13th, I’m sure the time will fly by. We can have a virtual pre op celebration before the 13th and an even better one once you’re back home again afterwards!

cornergran Wed 26-Jan-22 18:08:18

You’ll get organised soop, I have every faith in you. So good to have a confirmed date, delighted for you

Hospital appointment went as well as they can. A car parking space appeared magically as we arrived, woohoo. Was told I have an unusual presentation. Well, that sort of sums me up grin. Been referred for an MRI in hope of clarifying. There is likely to be a long wait, fair enough, others have more urgent issues.

We’ve now got two sons job hunting. One was anticipating redundancy and is quite phlegmatic, the other a victim of reorganisation. He’s not impressed with what’s on offer. Keep your fingers crossed for them both. So far we’re managing not to worry, it won’t help them if we do. Best to have cheerful parents, for now at least.

Hope you’ve had happy landings urms That sounds positive yiayia, hope the pain lessens. Good luck to your family sue, I’m beginning to think those of us who haven’t had covid are in a minority.

Time for some food here, take care everyone. TOYA.
