Even if it had started out as a 'spam' post (which, by the way, I'm not suggesting it is!), it's developed into something quite fun and interesting, has it not?

I've put on links to products before now but usually add "other retailers/outlets are available."

I'm glad so many people are engaging with this thread. It was indeed GN who were promoting the collagen supplement. I just offered a price comparison. I didn't spot an option to buy anything on the link I posted. I'll take another look.

My son was taking issue this morning over the US insistence that tomatoes are a vegetable not a fruit, because they are not sweet, so my contribution today is: Did you know that the part of a plant that contains seeds is (botanically speaking) a fruit? So that includes tomatoes, bell peppers, pumpkins, squashes, cucumbers etc. So the pods that contain beans, peas etc. are also fruits. Rhubarb is a stem, not a fruit.

I was taught at school that a tomato is a false fruit, the part we eat contains the seeds rather than being the seed, which botanically speaking makes it a false fruit.

Same applies to loads of other fruits.

Damn!! That was one of the questions in a Christmas quiz I took part in. (We're still waiting for the results - the organisers are rather chaotic). Our team of 3 were unanimous that the population was 3! (Out of Multiple choice answers 30000, 3000 and 3)

I should be able to post a "Did you know?" about Germany. Will come back when I've thought of one.
