Yesterdays trip out did go to plan ,as the Buckingham bus was late , so stuck to direct bus , I had my usual breakfast bap , but had a hunch, I waited outside local supermarket to see friends i know arrive on the X5 from Buckingham , we spoke of the lateness of the bus into Buckingham, but at laest I saw them .
Today , Lunch then kip ,as its worlds cycle cross champs from the USA on TV we have a potential world champion in the making riding for GB TV choice as well Eurosport or BBC red Button.
Take Care,

Good morning from a dark E Kent. There is a light frost. We are promised a little sunshine ☀️ today.
DGS arrived around 5 yesterday. After chatting, we went to the pizza parlour. There was a big, very noisy birthday party, nice to hear and see celebrations after all the dark day full of restrictions recently. Predictably,DGS wolfed down his pizza with his grandparents sedately sharing the other (and feeling stuffed). I offered him a Nutella pizza. It looked so good that I tried a slice, as did Mr. gM. He had a second slice! The rest was taken home “for GS breakfast”.
Spoke to DD at lunchtime. Iris is negative now, but she is still positive, so she had to cancel taking the family service today for Candlemas, which is a shame. DD is the last testing positive, hope that by Tuesday, the whole family is out of quarantine.
Going to the BCP church service this morning at 8 so need to scamper…
Hope every one has a gentle day. Carpe diem. ???☀️?

Good morning, all from a calm but chilly Torbay at zero degrees.

Yesterday, I finally completed my tax return with the first deadline being tomorrow! To celebrate, I enjoyed a walk over the Downs and a hot chocolate in The Buccaneer. The lovely bar maid was poised to draw a half pint of cider, my usual tipple! I was pleased to see her wearing a mask, as were most shop assistants locally. I certainly feel more comfortable wearing mine in such places.

Today, I shall attend the early service and maybe take another walk later. It’s Candlemas today, hence the photo, showing Jesus being presented at the Temple. Candles symbolise light returning after the darkness of mid winter , too. How disappointing for your DD, grandMattie but good to know Iris is clear. Nutella pizza sounds naughty but delicious!

Every blessing to all, especially those weighed down with worry. ?????

Scentia Sun 30-Jan-22 06:30:11

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is still dark and feels cold.
Ooh Grandmattie that Nutella pizza sounds lovely.
I am up early today as I am taking the DGC swimming, it is not the easiest of tasks taking a 2 year old and 8 month old swimming on my own!! DGS can swim do he is happy to just jump in, swim across and get out again, then repeat, so it is getting easier. Today is the day DGD will don the arm bands and have a go at swimming alone, I wonder if she will be like her brother ( a little fish) or her mother at her age ( a little limpit ?).
An afternoon in the garden if it is fine to prepare for spring I think.
Take care everyone and stay safe❤️ Enjoy the cycling Mick

grandMattie Sun 30-Jan-22 06:41:16

The Nutella pizza was delicious - but I got it dripping all over my (fortunately black) trousers. Mr. gM on the other hand had to go and wash his face as his beard had become brindled! ?. DGS had to have his face cleaned by grandma. Not the easiest and cleanest food.. ?

Good morning everyone from frosty Wiltshire, I’m surprised to see ice on the car this morning.
I think I will walk DDog down to the village this morning, I fancy a coffee and cake from the Coffee Waggon in the market place and I’ll probably see a friend or two there.
Another quiet day otherwise though I might do a bit of furniture rearranging if I can persuade DH to!

Beechnut Sun 30-Jan-22 06:53:10

Good Morning from frosty Severnside everyone.

I started another beading project yesterday so will carry on with that today. I like to sit by the window to do things like that and it was quite warm.

I too would make a mess with a Nutella pizza as I can make a mess with anything.

Enjoy the day all ??

cornergran Sun 30-Jan-22 07:03:18

Morning Mick, morning All from a calm, chilly, frosty corner of Somerset

Decent day yesterday, a good breakfast, a stroll around a local museum, some admin and a long putting the world to rights phone chat with a friend. Plan a walk along the river today and not much else.

Enjoy what you can of your days everyone.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 30-Jan-22 07:20:35

Good morning all from chilly but dry Harrogate.
Another bad night last night. Will have to contact the surgery, see they can help me knock this on the head - I’m useless during the day, jobs just are not getting done.
Glad you had a good day yesterday Mick
That Nutella pizza sounds really delicious GrandMattie - we could all do with a share of it!! Sorry Iris is still under the weather despite being “clear”
You have so much energy Scentia taking 2 small children swimming!
Have the best day possible folks

kittylester Sun 30-Jan-22 07:37:39

Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

Not much on today for me but, apparently, dh has to watch 2 football matches!! One involving his own team and one involving the team supported by DGS3 which is going through a traumatic time at the moment.

Urmstongran Sun 30-Jan-22 07:41:39

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s just getting light. I can see the Pennine ridge. The sun comes up behind them. The sky is a wash of primrose yellow and baby pink. Very pretty.

I’m making goulash (a lá Delia) today and my stepfather is joining us. I’ve not seen him since 6th January, although of course we chat every day. He will enjoy his pint in the bar below us first and I shall have a glass of Sauvignon then up in the lift here to eat. It will be good to see him. He’s such a nice man. One of life’s listeners who never complains and sees the positive in any situation.

I can’t believe January is nearly out. Enjoy the day all who can.

baubles Sun 30-Jan-22 07:43:26

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s 2* and rather cloudy.

A day of catching up with things around the house today. We are still unable to visit DD as they are in the third week of covid as they have succumbed one after the other. Of the six of them only the six year old is still standing.

I’m hoping it stays dry so that I can get out for a decent dog walk, I could do with the fresh air.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sunday. ??

Jaxjacky Sun 30-Jan-22 07:44:17

Good morning all from a frosty, -1, S Hants.
Enjoy the cycling Mick I’m up early to watch the tennis. MrJ is off the play golf later, lots of sport going on.
Pleased Iris is neg grandMattie and as you say, hopefully by mid week, all clear.
I will walk later listening to Billy Connolly’s book, probably be laughing as I go.
Enjoy your day all, thoughts with those under the weather (Gwenisgreat), may you improve soon. ???

Urmstongran Sun 30-Jan-22 07:44:33

P.s. meant to say sorry to hear you’re struggling health-wise Gwenisgreat. I hope you can get to see your doctor tomorrow and set off on the road to recovery. I sense you are feeling troubled by this. x

Beauregard Sun 30-Jan-22 07:51:45

Good morning from Derbyshire. It's very calm and still outside at the moment, with the winds due to pick up again later.

We're doing the Great Garden Birdwatch this morning. So, a bacon sandwich for us, mealworms and suet pellets for the birds and off we go. We're not expecting to see many though, after all their trees, bushes and nesting places were cut down to ground level by our neighbours last summer, so the birds have moved elsewhere and not been around very much recently.

We'll probably go a walk afterwards. Roast beef for dinner.

Hope Sunday is a good day for all.

Gingster Sun 30-Jan-22 07:52:48

Good morning all and, yes, it’s frosty here in Essex.
I hope you all survived the storms on the west coast !

DS2 is due here for breakfast in half an hour. He met up with his brother and old pals last evening and will come for an hour before driving back to Hertfordshire. His little family are always busy and he has to get back for the children’s activities. It will be lovely to have him to ourselves for a short time.

DD, Gd and one Gs will be coming for Sunday Roast. We’ll have a cosy afternoon with indoor pursuits and Gs and grandad watching footie on Tv.

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone. ?

Pittcity Sun 30-Jan-22 07:57:00

Good morning from sunny Colchester. There's a light frost and a clear blue sky.
I got lots of washing dry outside yesterday so have ironing to tackle as well as DHs fishing clothes to wash.
Roast lamb later.
Love to all ? x

Beauregard Sun 30-Jan-22 07:59:20

Oh yes, I forgot about the football kittylester. I think DH is going to pay the £10 fee to watch his team, as there is a march from the city centre to the ground today by the fans and the game is a sell out, so the coverage might be interesting. He might watch some of the other game too, to get his money's worth you understand!!!

brook2704 Sun 30-Jan-22 08:01:08

Good morning everyone from a wet and still a bit windy Inverness. We got though yesterdays stormy weather without any damage as far as I can see but there’s more stormy weather forecast to arrive later today.
Hope you’re feeling better soon gwenisgreat
Ahh I remember walking past the Buccaneer Ash and you pointing it out to me - I hope the hot chocolate was good!
Yesterday I went to DD2 house and apart from taking DGD to her dance class we stayed in playing games. I’ve nothing at all planned for today apart from some admin to sort out for the car and house insurance.
Scentia what a super gran you are, taking 2 little ones swimming on your own can’t be easy - well done to your DGS though for swimming at such a young age, a little fish indeed!
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Lins1066 Sun 30-Jan-22 08:02:34

Good morning Mick and all from a corner of the S Welsh coast. Lovely sunrise here and Jack Frost has made an appearance.
DD and I visited our DS's yesterday and dgd slept for the entire time in her aunt's arms.
A walk by the sea this morning and a read of the papers this afternoon, or maybe the other way about.
Hope Sunday is kind to everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 30-Jan-22 08:06:40

Morning Mick and all

Yesterday we started cleaning DD’s new home, I cannot describe how filthy it is, how can someone live like that? DD and I are going shopping for more rubber gloves and cleaning products first thing then it’s back to scrubbing the kitchen cupboards (bathroom taps, shower heads and the disgusting toilet seat all need replacing)

I shall shower this afternoon, than DH and I will go out for a late Sunday lunch

Keep safe and well ?‍♀️?

BlueSapphire Sun 30-Jan-22 08:07:36

Good morning everyone from a bright and frosty Northampton, a lovely clear sky with the sun just peeping over the horizon. Just done the Wordle in 3!

Had a very quiet day yesterday, reading, knitting and watching tv - enjoyed BBC2 in the evening, Morecambe and Wise, followed by an evening devoted to Elaine Page and Evita. I recorded the musicals programme on BBC1 to watch at another time. Glad to say my rugby team had a good away win - must have been my lucky socks! Just watch the highlights.

Out for lunch today with the whole family to celebrate DD and her husband's birthdays which were last week. Going to an Italian restaurant in a large retail park the other side of the county. DD-out-law phoned yesterday to say shall we go early so we can have a look around the shops, which I was mightily pleased with, as I can then have a look at the coat I fancy!

Must do a LFT before I go, and then have a bit of breakfast - fancy a boiled egg and soldiers this morning.

Wishes to all for a pleasant Sunday.

Grandmajean Sun 30-Jan-22 08:08:44

Morning all.
Calm here in Cheshire but think another windy day expected.
Sorry you aren't feeling good Gwenisgreat and hope you can speak to your GP.
Not a lot happening today and nothing planned as yet for dinner. Can never relax until that's sorted in my brain !

Grammaretto Sun 30-Jan-22 08:15:25

Good morning from the Scottish Borders, where it is 2°C, quiet with a red sky.
Yesterday's Hoolie left DMiL powerless and freezing so I rescued her and brought her to mine to warm up.
Everything at hers is electric from kettle to doorbell, stairlift and central heating (gas but needs a spark)
Luckily I didn't have a power cut. Fingers crossed for today. Snow is forecast.

It's DS 50th birthday. How can it be? He was born in a snowstorm but now lives in NZ and celebrated with a barbeque. I miss him and his family very much.

I always thought Candlemass was February 2nd Ashcombe but you would know.
I will count the birds today as part of the RSPB annual Birdwatch.
Yesterday 2 wood pigeons were huddling away from the wind
Have as best a Sunday as you can, everyone.

Grammaretto Sun 30-Jan-22 08:17:52

Gwenisgreat I hope you feel better soon. Do contact the surgery. flowers
