Are you into sums? Nerdle is for you.

nerdlegame.com/

It's similar to Wordle, but with numbers composed into sums.
You can choose an 'easier' mode with 6 squares across instead of 8. Best of luck smile

Will this be any use?

FannyCornforth Sat 05-Feb-22 06:28:01

Morning all!
Please can someone show the workings of yesterday’s (Friday) Nerdle?
Thank you in advance

Ali08 Sat 05-Feb-22 03:04:27

Aveline

Can't do it. Am surprisingly successful at Sweardle though

For all the swearing I do, I failed miserably!!
I don't know whether to be proud, or p'd off!

Maggiemaybe Sat 05-Feb-22 00:32:37

3 today. I’m more of a Nerdler than a Wordler right now. smile

Marydoll Fri 04-Feb-22 23:55:16

mini Nerdle 16 4/6

mini Nerdle 16 4/6

⬛⬛⬛⬛??
?⬛?⬛??
?⬛?⬛??
??????

I could only face the mini one today. You can see why.

mokryna Fri 04-Feb-22 16:07:42

I’m no good at numbers, count on fingers. I tried to eliminate, as someone else suggested, the division and multiplication on the first line but there again tomorrow is another day and this reasoning could go out of the window.

mokryna Fri 04-Feb-22 15:59:13

I’ve done it in 4! An improvement from yesterday. My poor head, it’s not use to this work but I am ?

nadateturbe Fri 04-Feb-22 14:48:25

Thanks Marydoll. I'll try that.

4 today. I really enjoy Nerdle.

muse Fri 04-Feb-22 12:32:55

Good luck NfkDumpling.
I found today's mini Nerdle (6 columns) much harder than the big Nerdle. I get there with Nerdle but it usual involves lots of random jottings on paper. I first try to find which operation (add, minus, multiplication and/or division) is going to be needed.
Someone on here suggested it a few days ago ?.

4 today but very careless on the 2nd line. I knew one number was red but then forgot to put it into the 3rd line. ?

muse Fri 04-Feb-22 11:17:19

Thank you Marydoll. That will help nadateturbe out.
I too find the SHARE button on my iPhone so useful. One click and all the choices are there.?

Doodle Fri 04-Feb-22 10:44:36

For some reason I seem to be doing better in Nerdle than Wordle. Got it in 3 for Nerdle today and 4 in Wordle.
I have been reading with interest the posts about dyscalculia and whilst I don’t have a problem reading numbers, I do have a terrible sense of direction and get lost easily even in places I am familiar with. My mother was the same and one of my sons too.

Re dyscalculia

I have no sense of direction and get hopelessly lost in places that are no problem to others.

I struggle with left and right.

And when I was young, I really struggled with the concepts of front and back door - to me it was dependent on where I was positioned in relation to the door.

I’d love to hear what problems / experiences others with dyscalculia have!

My main problems are around decimalisation. If numbers are grouped in more than two's they tend to get muddled. So measuring in metric is a nightmare. Give me feet and inches / pounds and ounces and I'm fine. I don't have a problem with my sense of direction - my DF taught me to keep looking back in strange places so I would know what it looked like from the other direction. And having a 'fluid' sense of direction means I can map read upside down!

I'm now off to have another look at this Nerdle thing and not just panic at the first sign of figures - as I did!

Pittcity Fri 04-Feb-22 08:53:38

The computer was fussy today. I didn't have two figures in the right place even though this made no difference to the calculation.
I suppose this is the equivalent to Wordle using American spellings....annoying!

Marydoll Fri 04-Feb-22 08:17:41

For Muse

Thank you, I have learned something new from you. The screenshot is what I get, using the Windows Key + V. However, I just use shortcuts when using the clipboard, that's why I have never needed to find it in the last twenty years.
For obvious reasons, I am not showing my history, as I do a lot of copying and pasting, some which is confidential.

However, if you are using a PC, and wish to share Nerdle and Wurdle results, there is no need to find the clipboard. That is an unnecessary step in the process. All you do is choose SHARE, followed by CtrlV and it will appear directly in your post. You can then edit out the parts, you don't need.

I hope this makes sense.

For those with dyscalculia, you have my sympathy. One of my adult DCs has it and despite being very able in other areas has always struggled with anything to do with numbers. They are a whizz at Wordle but are trying Nerdle each day and sometimes solving it in four or five.

FannyCornforth Fri 04-Feb-22 03:54:26

I’ve just seen your post Doodle.
Thank you, yes, I’ll do the mini one instead.

nadateturbe did you try pressing ‘share’ and taking a screenshot?

FannyCornforth Fri 04-Feb-22 03:51:33

NfkDumpling

I have Dyscalculia so no way can I face Nerdle! I have trouble enough with decimal currency!

I do too.
I realised when I was training to be a teacher.

My first two Nerdles were correct in 3 and 4 goes!

It was a complete fluke, as both calculations were 2 digits plus/minus 2 digits equals 2 digits.

It was just a process of elimination.
I can’t get my head around it at all now.
I still have a look, but my mind just doesn’t work that way.

Marydoll Fri 04-Feb-22 00:36:34

I have absolutely no idea, muse. I'm not disputing what you advised, just stating my own experience.
If you use the Windows key on my PC, you can't paste. I tried it tonight, out of curiosity.

In all the years I taught ICT lessons, we always taught Ctrl + V, as a shortcut for pasting from the clipboard on PCs. We mainly had PCs (80) and a small number of laptops. It worked for both types of device.
Ctrl+ C, to copy, followed by Ctrl + V. It is something I do, without even thinking about it.

When sharing Nerdle or Wurdle scores, it's only two actions: Share, Ctrl + V.

I will try and do a screenshot tomorrow.

muse Fri 04-Feb-22 00:07:40

I wonder why Google says to do this Marydoll.

nadateturbe couldn't find the clipboard. She might have a pc. How do you find the clipboard history on pcs?

Marydoll Thu 03-Feb-22 23:13:48

On a PC, the Windows key +v shows your history.

Ctrl+v is the paste function.

muse Thu 03-Feb-22 22:46:06

Tonight I finally decided to find this elusive clipboard nadateturbe. Well done with 4. It was a tough one today ?.

Clipboard?- It depends what device you use.

I use a Macbook: Open up FINDER - click on edit - click on 'Show Clipboard"

On PC: press Windows logo key + V (No pc so can't try it).

Google says: On Android mobiles: clipboard icon is in the top toolbar. Again, I can't try that as there are just iPhones's in our house.

SHARE option works on iPhones. Click on it and choices come up. I use this. Gave up trying to find the clipboard on my iPhone.

NfkDumpling Thu 03-Feb-22 21:51:08

Thank you Marydoll.

Marydoll Thu 03-Feb-22 20:35:00

Nfk, I can understand why. I worked with children with dyscalculia, life was so challenging for them.

NfkDumpling Thu 03-Feb-22 20:02:37
