If we're doing the same Wordle (there are several sites), it was an American spelling today. Got it in 5.

6 for me. That was a frustrating one. I didn’t think I was going to solve it and the penny dropped eventually.

Are spoilers allowed now?

Another poster started a spoiler free Wordle thread, and she got ticked off, for creating a ‘duplicate thread’ I recall

On line 5. Still can't get it even with clue ?

Please Wordlers, give no clues.

I would never have guessed a US word.

I didn’t look at this thread until after I’d wasted time refusing to give in to the obvious. At least we now have a heads up for future frustrations.

Got it in four. Would have been three if I hadn’t been so stubborn.

Got it in 4. Had to think carefully.

I don’t think anyone’s given a clue as such, have they? When I do the French and German Wordles at least I know what language I’m dealing with.

Though I’m down to my last shot on the German one today and swear I’ve tried every unlikely combination going. I got the normal Wordle in 2 and the French one in 4.

The US spelling for a 5 letter word that is referred to here is always going to be:

Consonant O Consonant O Consonant

As in labour / colour etc minus the U

So yes, it’s a big clue!

That’s why I got it in 2. But there are still plenty of alternatives.

And it’s very frustrating to fail to do it when you’re looking for a British English word you’re never going to find. I’d rather know. What do others think?

I got it in 4 only due to the American clue.
As most of us now know that Wordle uses American spellings then we shouldn’t need a clue. Other option is to not look at this thread until you have done Wordle thus saving any spoilers.
I would prefer not to have the hint even though it helped today.

I'm with Maggiemaybe. I didn't think American spellings would have been allowed so I was glad of the clue. Now I know, I can keep it in mind.

But surely you don’t come on here until you’ve done it ?

We discussed it previously and decided on no spoilers.

Even if you don’t come on the thread, you can see the comments on the ‘I’m on’ section.

Late to Wordle today so got stuck in before posting.

At least we now have a heads up for future frustrations.

I only got it because I'd tried that word on a previous occasion, in desperation, and was amazed when it was accepted as a guess although it wasn't right that time.

I don't normally, but I came on to see if anyone else was finding it difficult. I had tried everything I could think of.

We have discussed American spellings previously.
I think this is the third or fourth time, I could be wrong of course.
