Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark ,and dry here in brackley this morning .
Today , will be spent watching cycling on TV at lunchtime and mid afternoon in two different locations .
What I have noticed on a tree opposite my flat is signs of buds starting to show .
I will do a small local shop early today as well .
Take Care,
Mick

I bet you are all walking on air this morning LauraNorder! Such WONDERFUL news for everyone in your family. x

Good Morning from dry and breezy Harrogate. Yesterday managed a trip to Lidl in Knaresborough. I've never seen those vegetable boxes Marydoll - maybe it's a Glasgow speciality?
Doc has sent over some knockout pills, gratefully received. I am feeling a bit more human today, and intend to take stuff to the tip, then go for a trip into town.
topsyIrene sorry to hear about your loss - animals are part of the family. When DD lost her 1st dog, she had him cremated, then carried his ashes in an envelope which she took everywhere with her. She would sprinkle his ashes on his favourite walks. He was a lovely dog, we all adored him. We have her 2nd dog, she is getting to that age, too.
Glad you enjoyed your trip to Knaresborough Serendipity
When is the wedding Marydoll? We'll be watching for a photo on here!
Oh Fanny I'm so glad your treatment is improving your mobility.
Good to hear your dear sis is improving Gagagran.

Have the best day possible folks.

Good morning all from a mild and much calmer day in Glasgow.

The house alarm is on the blink so waiting for an engineer arriving at 9.30.

So sorry to hear your sad news TopsyIrene. I know only too well the heartache of losing a beloved pet. My near neighbour has two adorable Border Terriers whom I enjoy making a fuss over. ?
As Marydoll says, we must indeed be near neighbours. ?

We visited a fairly new shop in our area selling multi award winning Stornaway black pudding, (marag dhubh) We bought a few to share with family as it is not easy to source.
We also decided to have a coffee in a nearby Costa. We haven’t been to restaurants or cafes for such a long time and it was so nice to do so again. The coffee was dire though!

BP monitor removed yesterday. Readings quite concerning with the highest still in the low 190’s. Practice nurse will phone tomorrow morning with whatever decision is made by GP.
I shouldn’t complain as I know many are dealing with much more worrying health issues than mine.

Have a good day everyone. ?

Wonderful news Lauranorderr.

Nannytopsy Wed 02-Feb-22 10:11:48

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Grey but less windy in Suffolk this morning after a stunning sunset. What lovely news LauraN and all best wishes for your family from here on. Glad the injections have helped FannyC.
TopsyIrene such sad news. It is s nearly 3 weeks since we lost our cat and we still think we catch a glimpse or hear him.
Gardening, bathroom cleaning and ironing today, then a recording of Gardeners’ Questiontime later. It takes about 2 hours on zoom.

Nannagarra Wed 02-Feb-22 10:12:27

Excellent news Laura. Your relief and happiness shine through.
Sending a gentle hug to your DiL.

Nannytopsy Wed 02-Feb-22 10:12:44

And I hope the day is kind to everyone!

GrannySomerset Wed 02-Feb-22 10:22:09

Great news, Laura, and glad to see Gwen sounding more like herself. Gearing myself up to tidy up outside now the wind has gone to annoy someone else, but nothing else on the agenda, though the post when it arrives may bring more admin. Delighted that Dollie is to be a bridesmaid and suspect she will steal the show. When DD aged six was bridesmaid to her godmother her brother told all present that it was A’s big day, entirely dismissing the bride’s role in the proceedings.

Beechnut Wed 02-Feb-22 10:25:21

Wonderful news LauraNorderr?

EllanVannin Wed 02-Feb-22 10:34:36

Good Morning All x. Fabulous news to start the day Laura x. May it be the same result for Chrissielou's DD at the end of treatment. x .
So glad you're managing a break later on*Chrissielou*.

I feel your sadness TopsyIrene flowers An empty space sad

A bright enough day but a lot of cloud about, much lighter in the mornings though.
I'd decided not to hang the washing out yesterday as I had visions of being in and out like a dog at a fair so put it on the maiden instead in the hall and tumbled the undies.

Just need fresh milk today, not a lot else after my food delivery the other day. Lamb chops for dinner later, a favourite I must add so looking forward to those.
I wish we had a wet fish shop close by as I should be eating oily fish and I love fresh mackerel, haven't had it for ages.

Some ironing---only what I need smile then a general tidy up. Nothing exhausting you understand grin

Anyway have a lovely day whatever you do and stay safe and well, with thoughts to those who aren't too clever for whatever reason. xx

Megs36 Wed 02-Feb-22 10:36:23

Good morning all, and good wishes to all those sad and needing comfort for whatever reason.
Some of you will remember my husband had a bad flare up of COPD before Christmas which has not improved even with various visits from respiratory team, and has resulted in us being housebound with the occasional ,welcome, visitors. On Sunday with son and daughter in law here to nice lunch disaster struck!! My (forty year old ) 5 tooth bridge fell into my plate ?. Visit to dentist yesterday, she tried her best to stick it back but no luck…. Now got to be three extractions and a denture. Yuk, yuk. Oddly the bridge had replaced a denture all those years ago . As I am not very steady I’m not looking forward to these outings despite being housebound ?? As I take blood thinners the appointments are quite wide apart. Have granddaughters wedding in May, not sure we’dmake that anyway and now with no front teeth it’s almost inevitable that we won’t. Something to be said for mask wearing ??.

TopsyIrene06 Wed 02-Feb-22 10:48:57

In my sadness I forgot to say Laura such good news.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 02-Feb-22 10:52:52

Glad to hear you feel a bit better Gwen don’t overdo it though. We have the wonky veg boxes at Lidl here in East Yorkshire too. Strangely at ours they are placed on the shelf where you pack your shopping once through the till.

EV Although I think prices aren’t cheap and you may have to buy in large quantities there are companies online where you can purchase wet fish. I haven’t used any myself but did look during lockdown. Just a thought.
Hope you get your teeth sorted in time Megs an expensive necessity no doubt.

Grandmajean Wed 02-Feb-22 11:12:20

Just seen your newsLauranorderr and so delighted for you and your family.

Auntieflo Wed 02-Feb-22 11:18:26

Good morning Mick, Annie and all.
I haven't posted on here for a while, with not much to say, but I do read each day, and try and keep up with what's going on.
My lovely cleaner has just gone, after working her magic, and now she is going for a run. The energy of that girl is amazing.

I just had to add my best wishes to LauraNorderr and her daughter in law. What wonderful news.
One of the oncology nurses has been on the phone this morning, checking up on me . She is so nice to speak to, has time for you to get any worries off your chest, and I get more reassurance from her, than from the new Dr that I sometimes see.
I am off to get my hair cut shortly, and hope that she can make the best of a thinning head of hair. ?
Have a good day one and all.

Mapleleaf Wed 02-Feb-22 11:23:41

That’s wonderful news, LauraNorderr. You must all be so happy and relieved. ?

hollysteers Wed 02-Feb-22 11:45:42

Good morning all from a dull northwest coast. Off to lunchtime concert soon after strange brunch of quiche frozen leftovers from my brother in laws funeral in the south weeks ago. I hate wasting even a scrap of food.
Must return a denim shirtwaister dress to Matalan, I have the opposite attitude to an anorexic, I think I’m slimmer than I am., but still know I’m a standard size 14.
As always, I don’t feel like going on this outing, but always glad when I’ve done it.
Thoughts to chrissielou congratulations to LauraNorder and will read through properly later.

LauraNorderr Wed 02-Feb-22 11:53:38

Just to say thank you for sharing our joy this morning especially those of you have shared our happiness through your own pain and sadness. A reflection of just how lovely you lot are.
Off to Specsavers now to adjust my new specs which keep slipping down my nose.
?

Blossoming Wed 02-Feb-22 11:53:44

Good morning Mick and everyone. Had to be out early this morning, just got home in time to post! It’s a changeable day weather wise, seems to be brightening up so I will go for a walk after lunch.

Will read posts later, best wishes to all ?

EllanVannin Wed 02-Feb-22 11:54:39

Thankyou for that tip Grandmadinosaur I didn't think of online for wet fish, though at the moment I wouldn't get a sardine in the freezer grin but thanks anyway.
