Good morning from Derbyshire where it's been raining again and is still quite blustery.

So sorry to hear your sad news about your little dog TopsyIrene. It's hard when the time comes to say goodbye.

We had an unexpected face time yesterday with two of our DGSs, who live an hour away. The eldest has tested +ive for covid but with no symptoms. His mum had to stay home with him from her job as a teacher, so more disruption for the school to manage. It also means they won't be coming over to visit family this weekend. It was nice to see their faces though, and smile at their antics.

DH had to put back a fence panel that had been blown out in the wind. Thankfully it wasn't damaged and is now back, with an extra strip of wood to hold it firmly in place.

Not much planned today, other than the usual weigh in to see if I can lose another half pound!

Have a good Wednesday all.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8°. There are sort of blue skies above. It looks dry. TopsyIrene ? losing a pet is so hard.
Yesterday was a lazy day for me. It's not good for me to be lazy as I get into bad habits.
Today I'll visit mum then I have art class returning. I want to do a series of spring flowers paintings and practise using pastels. Probably chicken curry for tea. Have a good day all.

Food morning from my bit of Leicestershire where the sky looks fairly promising.

It was lovely to have a catch up along with my pedicure yesterday and, as I was leaving, a good friend arrived - cue more gossiping.

After lunch, we went to Derby to see DD1 and drop off her birthday present. We waited to see the children before coming home.

Today, I have an interview for another volunteering role with a charity providing singing groups all round the county for people living with dementia and their carers.

This evening our next door neighbour is coming for a wine and catchup!

Good morning from a dull and cloudy Black Country.

A lovely lunch and chat with friends yesterday, the small town was quite busy, so glad I went on the bus. I have had my bus pass 4 years now, and still love the fact I can travel for free!

No plans today, but think I will venture to the gym. The first time since February 2020.

So pleased to hear your news Fanny I hope this is the start of a pain free future for you flowers

Wishing you all a good day.

Morning all,

It’s a rather grey and cold start to the day here despite a lovely red sky last night. At least the gusty wind has abated.

A day to myself today as DH has had to go out on site, so I’ll potter about keeping myself busy.

Sorry to hear about your dog, TopsyIrene. So sad for you ?.

Hope everyone has a good day. Take care.

Good morning from our corner of the S Welsh coast.
Very sorry to hear about your beloved dog TopsyIrene, it is so hard to say goodbye to our pets. Many of us will understand how you are feeling all too well ? Good to see you again.

We took flowers to the cemetery yesterday afternoon, a tricky drive up a narrow track.
No idea what we will do today except organise an online shop. I'm ignoring the ironing!
Good news for your son and family Gingster.

Hope Wednesday is kind to everyone.

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy today but very warm for February. The early morning heating was not needed.
I spent much of the day in the garden yesterday. Lots of snowdrops and primula are flowering. I pruned roses and mowed the back lawn. It looks much more tidy and the green bin is full!
I have a teams meeting this morning then a coffee and catch up with a friend.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Mick, morning all from damp South Lanarkshire.

Fanny, what a huge relief from your pain, I’m happy for you.

I’m so sorry TopsyIrene, the death of a much loved pet is hard to bear.

A day off today with no plans so I’ll enjoy pottering about. I must have look in the garden to see if we have any snowdrops yet Gagagran, they are such a hopeful reminder that spring is on the way

Have the best day possible. Love the flamboyance Ash. ?????

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark rainy Carlisle. I've got to go out in it very shortly. Now that Christmas is behind us and DS2 is winging his way back to Australia, there is no chance of spoiling things by catching covid, therefore I am risking a long overdue visit to the hairdresser. I am sick of my hair, it's at that annoying in between stage, neither tidily short nor long enough to tie back.
I shall pop back later to catch up with all the news. Have a good morning meanwhile!

Stilllearning Wed 02-Feb-22 08:44:03

Morning from soggy S Lanarkshire. Two good pictures to start the day I enjoyed the flamingoes Ash, what a thoughtful granddaughter. Matt is on the button again today Urmston

I’m up and ready to head to the audiologist to have moulds fitted instead of my smaller hearing aids. She assures me that it will optimise my hearing so I am really pleased after several years of thinking (and being told) that things couldn’t be improved. Things have already improved greatly since I was lucky enough to find this young woman and I am very grateful.

Sorry for your loss of your little dog TopsyIrene.?

Must go now, parking at our local hospital is a nightmare and I get so agitated! Would rather be early and wait outside.

Best wishes to everyone for a decent day???

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning from beautiful sunny Anglesey.
We are surrounded by a flamboyance of wonderful pink flamingos today as my gorgeous, brave daughter-in-law is now free of cancer.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and has gone through horrid chemo, dark days of facing an uncertain future, a lumpectomy, lymph node removal, subsequent drain and the battle of trying to keep some form of normality for their little family through it all. A journey I wouldn’t wish on any of you. A journey many of you have been through.
Yesterday afternoon she was given that joyful and wonderful news. cancerfree.
We are all so happy.
I just wanted to share our flamboyance of flamingos, to say thank you to so many of you who have quietly advised, supported and comforted us on this journey and I want to give hope more than anything to Chrissielou and others going through the same difficult time.
Not just this lovely supportive thread but Gransnetters across the forum have been wonderful and I thank you all.

You have no idea ladies, how much your kind thoughts help me. Thank you.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton, looks very windy as well.

Had a good health walk yesterday afternoon, about 12 of us turned out to enjoy the lovely weather and company. A.good long chat was enjoyed afterwards over drinks at a cafe.

Finished my book club read when I got back, after doing some repairs to my coat as I had noticed that the fur trim had come away from the hood.

Tidying up to do this morning then after lunch a visit to our cafe/club, which is meeting for the first time since before Christmas. Shall take my knitting and enjoy a chat along with coffee and cake. We have all been asked to wear masks. Shall walk home from that as I need to call in at the paper shop and pay my bill.

Now to pop back and read everyone's doings. Have a good day, all.

BlueSapphire Wed 02-Feb-22 09:07:57

harrigran Wed 02-Feb-22 09:20:18

Good morning from a dry and mild NE, it is 9 degrees.
Had smart meter fitted yesterday, didn't take too long but lots of things had to be reset after the electricity was turned off.
SIL coming this morning to take me shopping and I have an eye test booked for this afternoon. Lady rang me yesterday and said they only allow one in at a time and I should knock on the door to be admitted at my appointment time, sounds like a visit to a Speakeasy.
Sorry to hear your sad news TopsyIrene, a virtual hug for you.
Have a good day all those out and about.

BlueSapphire Wed 02-Feb-22 09:22:27

dragonfly, did you manage to find some shoes?

Ashcombe Wed 02-Feb-22 09:26:34

What happy news, LauraNorder! It’s a privilege to share your joy. ?????

Georgesgran Wed 02-Feb-22 09:27:59

Good morning from Durham. A bit of blue sky, dry and only breezy.
The expected call about my Storm Malik roof damage didn’t happen on Monday, then yesterday I got a text for me to ring a different agency. Did that and I’m supposedly down to be contacted this morning. We shall see!!! Means I’m tied to the house, but so be it.
Great news Laura
?Topsy
Have a good day.
