Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark, but dry morning here in brackley this morning .
My bus trip out to Bicester later , followed by cycling on TV in the afternoon .
I will have a vest from my chiropodist as well today.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from Severnside where I am warm. I’ve just had my first cuppa.

I had a chat yesterday with my friend who passed on some news that left me feeling unsettled for the day. Later on I caught up with Beechnutella after she had finished work for the day. She told me that for the foreseeable she will carry on working from home.

I’ll go out today and call on another friend this afternoon hoping to catch them home.

Have a good day all ??

Good morning from a dark, overcast E Kent. We did have some sunshine ☀️ yesterday, but I was so busy I didn’t notice, I also ended up on my knees…
I started by washing and labelling the previous batch of marmalade with labels I design, print and cut. Four loads of washing, drying, sorting and folding; four more kg of oranges to turn magically into marmalade…
In the middle of all this, we heard that the Probate office (in week 18 of the promised 8 weeks!) decided that we hadn’t responded early last month with various powers of attorney. After a 45 minute wait/call, they admitted that they had all the necessary after all! I have been feeling very fragile this week, but that took the biscuit.
We had roast duck legs for dinner; they had been much reduced. And we had a gratin of mixed vegetables, togethe4 with an apricot frangipan tart, made at the last minute.
I was in bed by 2130…
Spanish today, then DGS’s mum is coming to lunch to talk money. Another difficult and emotional day. ?
I hope those in sorrow, pain or anxiety have a gentle day. Carpe diem. ????☀️☀️??

Pantglas2 Thu 03-Feb-22 06:15:41

Good morning Mick from a not-so-cold north Wales where I’m about to avail myself of the chamberpot ☕️! Isn’t that first cuppa the most quenching of the day ?

Lovely to read of Lauranorderr brilliant family news - let’s have more of the same for everyone with similar worries ?

I’m trotting to Lidl this morning and Mr PG has suggested he comes along, to hinder help....?. Anyway.....later we’ll be out for early tea before cinema (again, second time in a week and I can thoroughly recommend Belfast with the rather dashing Jamie Dornan). Tonight’s delight is Save the Cinema!

Have a good day everyone x

Gagagran Thu 03-Feb-22 06:35:03

Good Morning all! It's 6.9c here on the south coast but not forecast to get much more than that today. Nice day yesterday with lots of sunny spells.

I remain amazed at your industry and energy, Mattie. Hope your financial discussions with your DGS's Mum are settled amicably.

Must finish the click and collect order today. I prefer this way of shopping and we will keep to it despite the easing of restrictions.

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Good morning Mick, morning all from dark and damp South Lanarkshire.

I’m in awe of your energy gMattie!

Such happy news for your daughter in law and for all of your family LauraNorder.

Off for our usual Thursday of childminding which includes a gymnastics class for the four year old followed by a walk along the front to a cafe for an ice cream for her and coffee for us. The little one will have a nap at some point.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Ashcombe Thu 03-Feb-22 06:46:28

Good morning, all, from a quiet, dark Torbay. Yesterday the temperature reached 13 degrees!

I entirely agree about that first cuppa, Pantglas2! Nectar! I hope your worry about the news you heard is resolved, Beechnut. I’ll bet that marmalade tastes delicious, grandMattie. You were busy yesterday, as always, and I’m sorry about the frustrating time with the Probate Office. Annoyingly inefficient. Please take care of yourself amidst all this and I hope the visit from DGS’s mother goes as well as possible.

I have a dance exercise class this afternoon then I’m going to the ballet tonight in Paignton: The Snow Queen, being performed by English Ballet UK. It’s a shame DH isn’t here at present as he would have enjoyed it.

Hope today is as good as possible, especially for those with worries. Thank you for the kind comments about my DGD and the flamingoes yesterday. ?????

Gaga, the money in question is DGS’s inheritance from his late dad which various insurance companies owe him and are holding on to. The other problem is that he is inheriting a rather large sum of money, which we are all worried needs investing before he can spend it, etc. It’s that sort of “difficult”

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Feb-22 07:20:35

Good morning all from 7deg S Hants.
A tricky day ahead grandMattie may it all be resolved happily.
No more niggles today Beechnut ?
The best news for Laura and her family yesterday, your flock of flamingoes were most apt Ash.
Voluntary day on the phone, Farm shop, fuelling of car and cleaning of bathrooms, that’s my day.
Wishing you all a cheery day, thoughts with those struggling, may you all spot a ?or ??.

Feelingmyage55 Thu 03-Feb-22 07:25:07

Good morning from a mild north of Scotland. I have a day of serious paperwork to do that could have been done before Christmas and is now on a tight deadline. My own fault but getting off to an early start.
LauraNorder. Wonderful news for your whole family.
Have the best day you can.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 03-Feb-22 07:26:30

Morning Mick and all

I think you need some rest grandMattie please take care of yourself (((hugs)))

Still brightening up here in S E Essex another mild day I think.

We have eldest DiL very poorly with Covid, it’s next DiL’s birthday and her gift hasn’t arrived. I need to get on with some jobs I have been putting off.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Gingster Thu 03-Feb-22 07:34:35

Good morning all and it’s mild here in Essex.

Yesterday, DH and I had a lovely walk with the dog along the river at Hullbridge. The tide was high with lots of wildlife to watch. Coffee In the pub garden followed .

I bought fresh skate from the fish man in the town market - delicious just with bread and butter. Yum!

Today I will walk up the hill to be picked up by friends for our bowls gathering. (Dh will have the car. - he’s out for breakfast with two old school pals) ) . They always say they will pick me up from home but the traffic through Rayleigh is predictably bad and with roadworks at the moment , it’s a nightmare!

Art club this afternoon, so that’s my day!

Hoping you all have a ‘good’ day! ???

Grandmadinosaur Thu 03-Feb-22 07:36:04

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. 7 degrees at the moment and another dry day ahead.

Just reading about your day makes me feel tired GM !

We have been doing click and collect too since Christmas Gagagran but I noticed this week that the sell by dates on several items were the actual day of collection. Didn’t notice till I came to use some of the items and so had to throw them away. Very annoying not only the waste but in store they would have been yellow sticker bargains. Not sure if we will continue although it’s very convenient.

Today I have laundry to do, pack an overnight bag for a trip tomorrow and a phone call to make. DH busy all day with work visitors and out with them for a meal later. This means I can just please myself I am fancying beans on toast.

Take care everyone.

brook2704 Thu 03-Feb-22 07:45:37

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cloudy but not too cold.
Hope today goes ok GM and progress is made as best it can
Today I’m doing to my aerobics class at the gym and then a check up at the eye clinic later.
Hoping your DIL is a bit better soon GG13
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all whatever the day brings ?

cornergran Thu 03-Feb-22 07:48:24

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp, mild corner of Somerset.

Panic call from one job hunting son had me tied to a computer yesterday helping him update his cv. Mr C took on my share of the cleaning so I didn’t do so badly. It was you understand necessary for us to head out late afternoon for a restorative cuppa accompanied by a cream and jam scone. Oh dear, what happened to the weight loss plan?

Today also won’t help with weight loss as we’re off to our favourite restaurant for lunch. No idea what else the day will bring, maybe an after lunch walk if the weather allows. It’s not the best time, some underlying family upsets have left me feeling fragile. Sorry you are feeling the same grandmattie, hope today is less stressful than you fear. It sounds as if you need a relaxing treat.

Wishing you all the best day it can be.

Marydoll Thu 03-Feb-22 07:50:17

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where yet again, the thermometer is stuck at 7°C.

GM, you have been busy, perhaps too busy! You need to look after yourself, its been a difficult year for you.
I hope today goes well with your DIL today.
Could you not delegate some jobs to Mr GM? MrMDoll has taken over the laundry tasks, I wish I had asked him years ago! He is a dab hand at ironing! ?

Yesterday was a bit of a problematic day. After waiting all day, the much awaited phone call from my GP did not materialise.. Eventually at 5pm, I phoned the surgery, to be told it was today!!? DH heard the original phone call from the surgery and confirmed that it was indeed yesterday.
I was on tenterhooks all day, not surprisingly I was very annoyed.

During the day, DS2 phoned to tell me he had bad news for me. My heart sank, either someone had died, the caterer had gone bust or the wedding (on 4th March) was cancelled.
It turned out that his future FIL, who had been sitting next to me on Sunday, had tested positive for Covid. DS was panicking in case I had been infected, despite everyone having taken lateral flows, prior to the meeting. ? The chances of me having a positive test are very low, but we will be testing for the next few days.
If I do, I have access to fast track PCR testing and anti viral treatment, a much better position to be in than previously.

A couple of hours later, my phone rang again, this time the Ebay Queen, who lives across the road and whose DH is MrMDoll's golfing partner.
She caught Covid from contact with her sister's grandson and parents, who arrived back from the USA on Saturday. ???
The golf of course is cancelled! Hopefully DH's partner remains negative.

MrMDoll's car failed its MOT yesterday. Why? Despite me advising him to check all the lights were working prior to the test , he didn't! You guessed, the two indicater lights at the bottom of the car had failed. An expensive mistake, especially as he is awaiting delivery of his new car.

My day will be spent footering about and trying to book my fourth vaccination. I received a text yesterday, advising me that my appointment had been cancelled and to phone the helpline to rebook. I didn't even know I had an appointment and hadn't realised that it had been twelve weeks since my third primary one. Time has flown by.

As always, I'm sending my best wishes to all who are struggling.
Great news about your DIL, LN and praying for the same news for those in a similar position.

Enjoy your day, whatever your plans.ans, you busy people.?
I'm off to gave a look at Nerdle and Wordle.
Mick I see you had a go yesterday, you must let us know how you fared!

BlueSapphire Thu 03-Feb-22 07:53:24

Good morning everyone from a dry Northampton; I am hoping that the grass will be dry enough for its first cut of the year this afternoon before it gets unmanageable.

Towels in the washing machine already. Sainsbury's delivery between 10 and 11 am, so must make sure I am showered and dressed by then.

Had a pleasant afternoon yesterday at our cafe/club, chatting and knitting. It was nice to see familiar faces after the December/January break. Walked home and called into the paper shop to pay my bill.

Take care everyone and have a good day.

Grandmajean Thu 03-Feb-22 07:54:05

Good morning from Cheshire.
Hope your difficult day is better than you anticipate GrandMattie
Agree wholeheartedly about that first cuppa Pantglas
Choir this afternoon for first time in nearly two years.

Georgesgran Thu 03-Feb-22 07:56:33

Good morning from Durham, still breezy but dry, so I’ll have to water my new turf. The Independent Validator finally rang and is coming on Saturday - no doubt he’s rushed off his feet, but that’s not my problem!
Taking DD2’s dogs to the groomers, then might pop into Newcastle as I’ll only be a few miles away.
GM please look after yourself.
Have a good day. X

Pittcity Thu 03-Feb-22 07:58:06

Good morning from another grey day in Colchester. It's still dry as yesterday's forecast rain didn't materialise. A couple of my pots need watering....bet it'll rain tomorrow!
DH has gone fishing. My "empty" will be filled with housework and shopping etc.
Beef stew with dumplings tonight at DH request.
Love to all ? x

EllanVannin Thu 03-Feb-22 08:00:02

Good Morning All x.
It's dry so far as I can see and pretty mild as well.
Switched on for my local news and am still no wiser as BBC London came up grin---they boobed ! This is North West.
Ah well, they might get it right before 8.

The furthest I'll be going today will be the post box to post brother's card for tomorrow. In fact it's two cards, one inside the other as I always send an " age-related " humerous one along with the usual nice one to give him a giggle.

I might just stroll along for some of the lovely sausage from the butcher, then I'll freeze them---if I can squeeze them in.

A couple of blobs of that marmalade would go down a treat on my crumpets grandMattie, it looks delicious and so inviting. You're such a busy bee smile

I can't believe it's Thursday already, we're flying through the weeks, still, it's better than being bored and the time dragging.

I have a Chinese chicken meal today so will do some chips with it. This is a change for me, but no doubt it'll go down alright.

Hope everyone is alright and free from any lurgies.
Enjoy your day and stay safe.xx

Will read as I go along.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 03-Feb-22 08:11:30

Just had a message from eldest son, he has just tested positive (he has to test daily for work) .

I do hope he is not as poorly as his wife, as we are all over an hour away from them.

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Feb-22 08:15:01

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8°. Again. Very grey and windy out so I expect there will be rain.
Yesterday was a good day. I visited mum and she was in good spirits. My son sent a message and I've been worried about him so that, at least, was something. Then I went to art class and tried out pastels for the first time. I was quite pleased with how it turned out. I've still a lot to do to it before it's finished though.
Today I'm meeting my aunt who is younger than me for a coffee. I'm really fond of her so looking forward to that. I made chicken tikka with Bombay potatoes and veg curry yesterday and have enough for tea tonight so that's sorted. Have a good day all.

EllanVannin Thu 03-Feb-22 08:18:35

I can see another year of us struggling with this virus GrannyGravy it's so frightening and when it's your family it's worrying.
I hope things clear up for the family soon.
