Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark, but dry morning here in brackley this morning .
My bus trip out to Bicester later , followed by cycling on TV in the afternoon .
I will have a vest from my chiropodist as well today.
Take Care,
Mick

Marydoll Thu 03-Feb-22 16:46:21

I think Mick means a visit from his chiropodist.

What’s the chiropractor vest like? Does it help? It sounds like you have back pain?

Auntieflo Thu 03-Feb-22 12:55:18

Good afternoon! Mick, Annie and all. Have been lazy, again, this morning, but also reading the thread.
GrandMattie, you are a very busy bee. All that marmalade, it sounds delicious, especially the one with cranberries. I always used to make the Mamade type, but recently have found a dark, thick cut one in Aldi, that I like, so it's made me lazy.
My haircut was a success yesterday, as she cut it a bit shorter.
I had an email from our surgery, to say that there was a message waiting for me, and to click the link. I had to enter my DOB, and it kept telling me that it was wrong. Well, it's been right for nearly 80 years, so I phoned them instead. Probably "a glitch" said the receptionist, so I can read it out for you, so she did. Nothing important.
No Premium Bond win this month ?. Shall I cash them all in and re-invest?
Ginster, your mention of Hullbridge and Rayleigh, brought back fond memories, as we lived in Rayleigh until 1968, when we moved here, to our bit of Berks, which was nice back then, but is rapidly being built on, everywhere.
Have a good day one and all.

Welcome Jerseygal?

LauraNorderr Thu 03-Feb-22 12:25:55

Welcome Jerseygal. What’s the weather like on your lovely island today?

LauraNorderr Thu 03-Feb-22 12:24:17

Glad to have cheered you Joyce, now go and peg out that washing, the fresh air will do you good and you can spend what you saved in electricity on cake.
Have a good day yourself.

EkwaNimitee Thu 03-Feb-22 12:24:12

Good morning, (well afternoon really) Jerseygal and welcome. I assume you are in Jersey?

Marydoll Thu 03-Feb-22 12:23:48

Welcome Jerseygal.

I saw you testing the site with your post about deletions. As many of us have learned (panic stricken), only GNHQ can delete.

Jerseygal Thu 03-Feb-22 12:16:06

Good Morning Learning how to use Granset. Interesting reading here what living in the UK is like. sunshine

joyce6135 Thu 03-Feb-22 12:15:49

Hello everyone, just wanted to say how much LauraNorderr’s news cheered me up as I have felt really down lately, unsure why! But reading her post yesterday relayed the joy she felt. Just wondering whether to peg the washing out, or tumble dry, I have never been so conscious before about energy prices! Kind thoughts to everyone, have a good day all.

Thanks Marydoll. Off to,look at the Glasgow meet up thread.

Daffodils opening their cheery heads. Don’t know if it was me or my phone but now corrected.

LauraNorderr Thu 03-Feb-22 11:18:02

Good morning Mick and all from another sunny, blue sky day on the Isle of Anglesey. Snowdrops in all the hedgerows and even a few early daffodils have opened there cheery heads to tell us that spring and hope is on the way.
Thanks for so much kindness from you all in sharing our good news yesterday.
Thank you for kind words Chrissielou I’ve only given a little of what I’ve received and I’m sure you’ll do the same when others are in need.
I hope your poorly daughter-in-law recovers soon GrannyGravy and that your son doesn’t suffer too much now that he has succumbed.
Fingers very much crossed for others with covid and for negative tests for those who are vulnerable and have had contact with this horrid virus.
A lot of money in the hands of the young and inexperienced can be a worry grandMattie, it’s good that your grandson has you and his mum working together in his best interest.
Thinking of you GrannySomerset, so much to get through.
You too Harrigran and you really need to up your game and beat your son at scrabble just once ?.
Wishing you all a day of quiet pleasure or rowdy fun whatever your preference.
?????
PS Missing your photos Alygran, they always cheer me.

Good morning Mick and everyone. I’m having a slow and lazy morning after rushing around yesterday. It’s grey but dry here, currently 8°C. Mr. B is pottering about in the garden, I’m surfing the net smile. I will shift my lazy bones and go for a walk later.

Chrissielou Thu 03-Feb-22 09:55:19

Back to grey skies and light drizzle in Oxfordshire today. So wonderful to hear of the joyous news from LauraNorder it made my heart soar for her DiL, and the whole family. We are just at the start of the cancer journey with DD1, but LauraNorder has been such support to me, as have others; and I thank you all.
Hoping your Thursday is joyful! Sending sunshine in place of the real one which is absent today!

GrannySomerset Thu 03-Feb-22 09:54:00

Sitting room curtain pole has come adrift and am not sure who to ask for help. Our lovely local handyman has retired and I so miss him for jobs like this.

Other than trying to sort that out and a friend coming for a cup of tea later I have no plans. I am altogether too good at not doing much and need to rediscover some get up and go.

At least the weather is promising and should be sunny and fair.

Beauregard Thu 03-Feb-22 09:47:34

Good morning from Derbyshire. It's cloudy but starting to brighten up.

My friend is coming over this morning after a work meeting and we're going for a coffee and, no doubt, some late breakfast or cake. I shouldn't, but can't resist!

We'll go a walk out later and then plan the week's meals before I go shopping tomorrow.

Have a good Thursday all.

Good morning all from a cloudy northwest coast.
Funeral of a very distinguished friend of the family this morning after annual check up at docs, it’s a clash, so hope I’m in good time, Otherwise will watch it online as it will be packed out.
Heard scuffling down the side of the house early on, thought it was next door, but it’s my painter. It gets me going as he’s an early starter (and I’m not).
The young gifted classical musicians gave a fine recital yesterday, so young, my friend said ‘I was playing with my Lego at that age” as we listened to a you g thing playing the cello. Then we chatted outside for so long he suggested a coffee and amazingly our department store has reopened with a cosy coffee bar, new to me. My friend could talk the hind leg off a donkey and I had to dash for my bus later. It’s the only day I take the bus, handy for the recitals.
Hope you have a good day and thoughts to the troubled.

luluaugust Thu 03-Feb-22 09:31:30

Good morning all from W Kent, grey but lightening up a bit.
Off to art group not sure what to paint.
Best wishes to all

Marydoll Thu 03-Feb-22 09:25:49

Good luck Kalu. Did you see the Glasgow meet up thread?

Kalu Thu 03-Feb-22 09:22:45

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow

DD1 is on her way to join me for coffee and a blether, well, she does most of the talking and we are good listeners!

Practice nurse phoning at 10.30 then dentist at 12.30 will be a busy morning for me.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Stilllearning Thu 03-Feb-22 09:21:17

Morning from S Lanarkshire, doesn’t look promising out there.

A home day today, I’m off to Dunoon tomorrow (wind and ferries permitting) for a long weekend with lovely sister and brother in law, and the house needs attention so I can enjoy my return!

I was really delighted to see your wonderful news LauraNorderr, prayers continue for the others for a similar outcome.

Wishing everyone a good day???

Gwenisgreat1 Thu 03-Feb-22 09:21:10

Good morning all from dry, chilly Harrogate
I’ve got a Sainsburies delivery this morning but haven’t had any confirmation from them. I am swithering whether to stay with them the last few weeks they have missed out the amendments made well before the deadline. They said I should phone the amendments in, but that takes hours.
I would if necessary go back to ASDA but they give the most unfortunate substitutes.
The man has now come to service the boiler, next will be the delivery.
Yesterday went into town to get some yarn for my DD who has started doing crochet, self taught as was I. She has been more ambitious than I ever was.
Can’t think now, I have a dog barking in my ear, it will stop when the plumber has gone and the deliveries delivered!
Have the best day you can folks!

Mapleleaf Thu 03-Feb-22 09:07:22

Good morning all,
Well, the brief spell of sunshine has now disappeared. At least it doesn’t feel as cold again, though that’s forecast to change for tomorrow.
Pilates class shortly, then I’ve a few outdoor jobs to do.
Hope those of you with illness and/or worries have a better day today. Take care.

harrigran Thu 03-Feb-22 08:52:58

Good morning from the NE where it dry and 8 degrees.
Busy day yesterday, grocery shopping in the morning and Optician's appointment in the afternoon. I told SIL I would be about 45 minutes but it took 2 hours. They had to repeat some of the tests and trying to decide on glasses was a bit of a faff but we got there in the end.
DS coming today so I must prepare to be beaten at Scrabble again.
Pleased some of you have good news to share.
Hope those with worries have an easier day.
