Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Today, I will hopefully get the bus to Buckingham ,and then continue to Bicester , plan to have a breakfast bap with a coffee as well , plus a small shop .
I will skip having a Chinese Take away , and have ready made one instead as its cheaper ,and a smaller portion as well.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all who follow, from a chilly again south coast. 0.1c at the moment. Glad we covered the car windscreen last night as we are off to get the early click and collect.

Our youngest DGD is 17 today and has grown into a beautiful girl. I miss the baby years though! We had four DGC in four years and I loved having the babies and toddlers around. Tempus fugit.

DH is off out again for a shorter bike ride this morning. He did 60 miles on Wednesday and was somewhat fatigued on his return home. He forgets he is nearly 80!

Hope the day is kind and a good one for us all. sunshine

Good morning, all, from a dark, chilly Torbay.

Thank you for all the good wishes yesterday regarding my hospital tests, especially Gagagran for arranging “green traffic lights all the way”! It worked and I arrived in good time. The two members of staff were lovely but the results will go to the cardiologist who will contact me. Last year, it took 12 weeks…..! And then it was a telephone consultation.

Following his back problems last August, DH, olddudders, finally saw the rheumatologist in Le Mans yesterday. She requires further tests to be done but has said he will need daily, self-administered injections for his osteoporosis.

Your plan regarding the Chinese meal is a good one, Mick; we always find portions are too large.

I hope those with heavy hearts will find some relief, with special thoughts of grandMattie. Here is a trailer from the charming performance I saw this week, which I hope will help to start your day. ?????

Good morning from am clear starlit E Kent.
Firstly, may I thank all you lovely people who wrote such kind messages of support. They are much appreciated and a great help. ❤️ We’re not finding life easy at the moment with so many things giving us cause to worry. Never mind, they’ll pass. Eventually!
I got caught in a dreadful rainstorm coming home from visiting my friend, it was the first rain we’ve had since Christmas. It is very frequently grey and overcast, but we don’t get much rain.
Just heard that after 20 days of one or other of Bristol lot being affected, they are now all Covid-19 free! Yay!
Nothing much happening today. I might start a tote for one Gnetter who asked. I have an aesthetic problem with it which I don’t know how to solve. Sorry, gaga!
Lots of rugby today as the 6 nations start. Shall be banned from sitting room.
May today bring comfort to everyone who needs it. Carpe diem ???????☀️☀️?

grandMattie Sat 05-Feb-22 06:18:13

Absolutely gorgeous, Ash. Thank you. Lovely start to the day.

Pantglas2 Sat 05-Feb-22 06:40:41

Morning all from a dark and blowy north Wales - not looking forward to the weekly trot for a newspaper and TV pages ??

Never mind...lunch with friends in Conwy before dashing home to catch the rugby- there’s no banishing this banshee when Wales ??????? are playing Grandmattie ! So pleased your clan are COVID free, you’ve more than enough on your plate at the moment!

So many awaiting results/treatments from various consultations (the ever patient Mr PG included) and I thank my lucky stars for my own health blessings as I’m sure many on this thread do. It’s tough enough with one to worry about isn’t it?‍♀️

Have a good weekend all you lovely peeps x

Good morning from Essex by the sea where it feels cold.
I didn't get my walk yesterday as the heavens opened about 10 minutes before I was due to leave. The first rain in a long while.
We have to go out this morning to buy DH a cover for his new phone and probably there will be coffee as well.
Rugby and football to watch later.
Have a super Saturday everyone xx

BlueBalou Sat 05-Feb-22 06:59:17

Good morning everyone, I haven’t looked outside yet so no idea what the weather’s doing. DS and family are coming for half term so i need to get DH to tidy the spare room that he uses as a dumping ground (I keep the door firmly shut!)
I will start another pair of socks today, I tried last night three times and each time I made a mistake, I need to concentrate better.
I hope you all have a good weekend x

Good morning from dark Leicestershire.

We seemed to walk a long way yesterday at a very fast pace so needed to soak in the bath when I got back.
We were led by a 91 year old who out walks us every time!

Meeting with friends from my cancer support group this morning at a new cafe in the woods which should be fun.
Then I will hang the new curtains in the bedroom.

Wishing everyone a good day.

kittylester Sat 05-Feb-22 07:19:56

Good morning all from a chilly, but dry I think, north Leicestershire.

We have to get going as the tiler is coming to do a final thing to the shower door. 9 am on a Saturday morning is a bit extreme in my view!

I have beds to change today and ironing to do before we go away tomorrow.

Have the best day possible everyone.

baubles Sat 05-Feb-22 07:20:28

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s 3* and damp.

I do hope we don’t have snow today, yesterday’s disappeared but it was quite wild for a while.

Thanks for the beautiful clip Ashcombe.

Wishing you a better day Mattie. Like yours my DD’s clan are finally covid free just in time for the Strictly Tour tonight. They are all going except for the littlest one giving us the chance to look after him this evening.

I’m in sole charge today at work, I still feel a little nervous but I’m sure it’ll all be fine. We changed a few things yesterday and the shop is looking good.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day. ??

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 05-Feb-22 07:26:46

Morning everyone. I’ve no idea what the weather is like in West Oxfordshire as I haven’t looked outside yet. Later on this morning I am driving up to West London to stay with son and his family. Should be fun. I will drive home on Sunday. Will we hear news tomorrow that Bunter Johnson had done the right thing and fallen on his sword?

cornergran Sat 05-Feb-22 07:34:54

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s a chilly start to our corner of Somerset, seems both dry and draughty outside there.

Gradually catching up with ‘stuff’, will plod on this morning. Good news your Bristol family are out of the covid woods grandmattie, please give thought to your own needs now. Enjoy your break away kitty, your trip to a cafe in the woods sounds just right dragonfly. Hope you don’t wait as long as you fear ash, stay as well as you can.

Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Ning74 Sat 05-Feb-22 07:44:55

Good morning everyone. I am posting from Northumberland, where dawn is currently happening though not fully light and somewhat chilly. Feel so fortunate to be living in this beautiful part of the country with sea and countryside on my doorstep. I moved to Alnwick six years ago from London. I am a ‘newbie’ at gransnet as my two sons and their partners have recently had baby girls within 3 months of each other. Excitement doesn’t cut it......I am thrilled to be a grandmother at the grand age of 74!

Chrissielou Sat 05-Feb-22 07:47:20

A beautiful sunrise in Oxfordshire, its dry and calm outside. Im sitting having my coffee in bed; I love weekends. Off to a coffee shop meet DSx2 and DD1 plus GC for coffee/cake, to celebrate both DSs upcoming birthdays, just days apart, eldest and youngest of my 4.
Wishing you all a happy Saturday with sunshine and smiles.

Beechnut Sat 05-Feb-22 07:48:15

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where the car is displaying beautiful patterns on its roof.

Not sure what to do today. I noticed yesterday that there’s still a diy job to be done and I can always craft.

Have a good day all and hope worries will be small ones ❄️?

Grandmajean Sat 05-Feb-22 07:52:50

Welcome Ning74 I love Northumberland too ! Have had lovely holidays there.
No idea what the weather's doing here but not planning on going far today so oot too bothered.
Hope the weekend is as pleasant as possible.
Zoom quiz for us tonight.

Grandmajean Sat 05-Feb-22 07:53:38

Where did that "oot" come from !

Gingster Sat 05-Feb-22 08:03:35

Good morning all and it’s bright but chilly here in Essex.

I had a lovely long lunch with my friend yesterday having walked into town . Fortunately it had stopped raining, so at least I arrived dry , if a little out of puff. ?. We caught up on all our ‘doings’ and will arrange a Springtime outing with a local coach company. We do this a couple of times a year. Lovely!

DGD (12) has painted me a beautiful canvas ,( which I asked her to do.). I must display it but just can’t find the ideal spot for it. It’s on a white background and my rooms have a lot of brick and wood, so it doesn’t do it justice! I have to find somewhere before she visits again ?

Thankyou for the Ballet link Ash - so beautiful.

I’m taking little DGD to her ballet class this morning and will bring her and her mum back here for lunch afterwards.

Goodness me gagagran - your dh is doing exceedingly well with his cycling. ?. Good for him ?.

Wishing you all an enjoyable day, whatever you’re up to. ???

Grandmadinosaur Sat 05-Feb-22 08:05:51

Good morning from our hotel in the north west.
We had an amazing night at the Strictly tour. If anyone watches they will know the now iconic dance by Rose - it was so moving you could here a pin drop.
Today we are unable to go to Manchester Urms so the driver says as there is a March there. Not sure if that’s right or he doesn’t want to take us? So we are off to Salford Quays. Been before and not a lot there unless it’s changed. We will have coffee an amble and a long lazy lunch.
Take care everyone.

brook2704 Sat 05-Feb-22 08:19:26

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cold, wet and icy. Yesterday we had snow which is still here but now we’ve got rain forecast for the rest of the day ☔️
A warm welcome to Ning I love Alnwick, especially the gardens and castle. My DS lived there for a few years so I used to be a regular visitor, but he’s moved on now. Enjoy your new DGDs - how lovely!
Not sure if we’re seeing DGC today yet, we usually see them on Saturdays but today SiL is off work so I don’t want to intrude too much on their family time together. Will see if I get an invite round!
Thank you for the lovely clip of the ballet Ash - magical
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Pittcity Sat 05-Feb-22 08:23:29

Good morning from a sunny but frosty Colchester. No idea what we're doing this weekend. I need a couple of bits from town which is a 10 minute walk from home so can be achieved in under an hour.
I wonder if DH has any plans.
Chilli for tea.
Love to all ? x

BlueSapphire Sat 05-Feb-22 08:24:46

Good morning everyone from a clear and frosty Northampton. Sitting enjoying my tea and ginger biscuits.

For some reason was feeling very down yesterday and did not even feel like going for my usual coffee out and shop. But then I heard on the radio how good the touring production of Hairspray was at our local theatre, almost a sell-out, so on the spur of the moment looked on line and got a ticket for this afternoon's matinee, the last one left in the circle!

That spurred me on, got out to the shops, picked up my order from M&S, had a coffee and toasted sandwich and did a bit of shopping. It did me good to get out instead of feeling miserable at home. Then made a chicken curry when I got home - enough for 4 portions, one for last night and three for the freezer.

So, looking forward to this afternoon's performance! Early lunch and then into town on the bus. I too shall have a Chinese ready meal tonight, as won't feel like cooking when I get back.

Welcome Ning, I too love Northumberland; had a lovely self-catering holiday in Beadnell with DH a few years back.

Hope everyone's Saturday turns out well. Wordle in 5 today!

Beauregard Sat 05-Feb-22 08:26:40

Good morning from Derbyshire. It's dry outside and I could see a light frost on the cars when I opened the curtains.

I'm up later than usual after a late night as DH was watching the football which went to extra time and penalties.

More sport today as we watch England play rugby later, so an easy dinner as it's an early evening kick off.

Have a good Saturday all.

Grandmabatty Sat 05-Feb-22 08:27:23

Good morning all. Polmont is wild and wet this morning. 6° so not very warm either. Welcome to Ning74. Enjoy your grandchildren! They are such fun. Yesterday I looked after dgs1 for five hours after playgroup and it was such a joy. He keeps me on my toes.
Today will be housework day and some knitting I think. I have nothing planned. Have a good day all.
