Good morning everyone from the east coast of Fife where’s it’s very blustery, cold and wet but I’m still in my cosy bed with the love of my life who came home from hospital yesterday. Fingers crossed he’s going to be much stronger today than he was a couple of days ago. It’s been a worrying couple of weeks for everyone in this house.

It's good to hear better news of the Covid warriors recovery, difficult and worrying times.

I'm feeling pretty low today. Yesterday, I tried to book my booster, since it's twelve weeks after my third primary, but there seems to be a block on my account.
I discovered that the record of my third vaccination has been deleted, therefore no-one can organise a fourth. The system won't allow it.
Whoever cancelled an appointment, that I didn't require, has inadvertently bu**ered up my account. Excuse my French, but this is just the last straw.

After two hours of being passed from pillar to post, I was just about in tears, trying to prove I had been vaccinated on 6th November and was coded on my record as being eligible for a fourth vaccination. A fourth is necessary, because the first two didn't really provide any protection.
The agent left me on hold for twenty minutes, before coming back to tell me an urgent case had been raised, because I was CEV and immunocompromised.

Despite the case being recorded as urgent, it will take two weeks to rectify my record. Only then can an appointment be given and I will still need to call back to organise it.
The agent paid me, what could perhaps, be regarded as a compliment, saying I was certainly on the ball! what if I had been a vulnerable person, who wasn't and had no-one to fight their corner?

DD thinks I should contact the shadow health secretary, our MSP, whose mother was a school friend and colleague and who was taught by my SIL. I don't like that kind of nepotism, but if all else fails, I will consider it.

Between that and worrying about the unhelpful phone conversation, with my GP on Thursday, when I still don't know what has shown up on my chest xray, (apart from an enlarged heart), but does require investigations, I have come to the conclusion, that I am fighting a futile battle trying to be resilient and positive. The gods continue to conspire against me.

The icing on the cake was finding out that the Glesca Grannie's meet up, clashes with my MOT, which can't be changed for various reasons. We are trying to find a way around that. I was so looking forward to seeing old friends and some new faces.

Sorry for such a miserable post, I just need to unload my worries, but I don't want to upset MrMD, who despite what I complain about say on here, has been my rock.
However, I know there are people on here in similar circumstances, who will understand how I feel.

There is a glimmer of joy on the horizon today. Firstly, I have insisted on takeaway tonight, I deserve it ? and DS is at the rugby, so DIL may bring Dollie to see us at church tonight. ?Apparently, she is missing her wee gran. ?

Thank you my dear friends on here for your ongoing support, it has got me through so many difficult times in the last few years. It would have been a very lonely journey otherwise.

Good morning from a dry and bright NE.
Had a restless night, didn't settle down until about 2.30, was woken by a text at 8am. I had a Cote at home delivery booked and it was due for delivery between 8.20 and 9.20 so I jumped up and put some clothes on, just as well it was delivered on the dot at 8.20. It is our Sunday dinner, DD and SIL will join me.
DS and family are planning to visit this afternoon as is my sister who brings my bread and milk.
Got all the laundry done and ironed so caught up on some recorded programmes last night.

Good Morning Mick and all from windy damp Carlisle where we are promised more rain during the course of the day. I may go for a walk later if the forecast proves pessimistic otherwise it's indoors for me, admin, a bit of online shopping for roses and some baking. I'm cutting back on the latter generally as I have weight to lose from Christmas and January but I do like a bun or slice with my afternoon coffee.
I was out in the garden again yesterday constructing a second compost bin. I don't need it for compost yet but I had the cunning idea of mostly filling it with removed turf and topping that off with soil left from digging planting holes for shrubs. I am going to experiment with growing potatoes in it whilst the turf below rots down.
Your DH is impressive Gagagran. Long may he forget he's nearly 80! My DH was a keen cyclist all his life but was sadly demoted to an exercise bike by the time he was your DH's age. He was getting a bit wobbly out on the road bikes, didn't take to his electric bike so I bought the exercise bike ostensibly for me. Fortunately he got hooked on it and gave up the open roads much to my relief.
Welcome, Ning! Northumberland is a lovely county, rather underrated I think. Hadrian's Wall, castles and superb beaches but not too overwhelmed with tourists.

Good morning from a increasingly brighter Black Country, with a touch of frost.

Gym yesterday morning, then a pottering afternoon. Rang Mum on a messenger video call, but accidentally rang my Aunt, so added Mum and we had a 3 way chat. My cousin was there also. So a lovely chat. We will all be meeting in Yeovil next weekend for another cousins 60th.

Welcome Ning, Northumberland is one area of UK I have never visited! We must add it to our list. Congratulations on the birth of your grandchildren, happy times ahead.

Ddog Gracie has been very poorly, so I’ve been worried daft. She is now hopefully on the mend with antibiotics. She’s had blood tests and they are fine, which is a relief.

Nothing much to report, other than DH and I are making small improvements every day ?

Today myself, my DD and GC and my DD friend are all going to a lovely, quaint market town with lots of charity shops. Then we will go to the pub ( Witherspoon's) for our lunch.

Lastnight me and Mr S went just up the road to an old pub that has a wonderful, inviting open fire ( 2 actually, 1 in each room ) while there he said about us going to another old, old, country pub tonight that ALSO has open fire. Soooo looks like today my day consists of shopping and pubs!!! Hahaha.

Our two week old granddaughter slept soundly in Mr Lins's arms, he hasn't lost his touch.

Some good news! ?
When I was 21, my godfather gave me this signet ring - with (French family crest, of course #poshgrandma). In the winter, it’s a bit loose. Last night as I removed my jewellery for bed, I realised it was missing. Great sadness, DH was much more worried than me. I suspected that it had come off when I removed the blooming rubber gloves as part of the total PPE I gave to wear to visit my old friend. Oh well too bad, it is minor compared to other stuff in my life ATM.
This morning, I thought I’d check the gloves in my coat, m6 cardigan, my trousers pockets… then thought I’d look on the sofa where I had a nap yesterday after lunch, before emptying the bins at the retirement home..
Result!!! ???

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s cloudy and grey but still unseasonably warm.
Yesterday evening was spent watching my football team progress to the next round of the cup! Wholly unexpected for Middlesbrough to win at Old Trafford. Much online excitement from my girls!
Today it’s shopping and ironing then doing a bit of tidying up before a friend comes for supper and the last couple of parts of ‘Emily in Paris’.
Pleased to hear the family are recovered Mattie. Hope you feel better as the days go by. Look after yourself.

I'm up later than usual after a late night as DH was watching the football which went to extra time and penalties.

More sport today as we watch England play rugby later, so an easy dinner as it's an early evening kick off.

Good morning everyone from a clear and frosty Northampton. Sitting enjoying my tea and ginger biscuits.

For some reason was feeling very down yesterday and did not even feel like going for my usual coffee out and shop. But then I heard on the radio how good the touring production of Hairspray was at our local theatre, almost a sell-out, so on the spur of the moment looked on line and got a ticket for this afternoon's matinee, the last one left in the circle!

That spurred me on, got out to the shops, picked up my order from M&S, had a coffee and toasted sandwich and did a bit of shopping. It did me good to get out instead of feeling miserable at home. Then made a chicken curry when I got home - enough for 4 portions, one for last night and three for the freezer.

So, looking forward to this afternoon's performance! Early lunch and then into town on the bus. I too shall have a Chinese ready meal tonight, as won't feel like cooking when I get back.

Welcome Ning, I too love Northumberland; had a lovely self-catering holiday in Beadnell with DH a few years back.

A warm welcome to Ning I love Alnwick, especially the gardens and castle. My DS lived there for a few years so I used to be a regular visitor, but he’s moved on now. Enjoy your new DGDs - how lovely!
Not sure if we’re seeing DGC today yet, we usually see them on Saturdays but today SiL is off work so I don’t want to intrude too much on their family time together. Will see if I get an invite round!

Good morning from our hotel in the north west.
We had an amazing night at the Strictly tour. If anyone watches they will know the now iconic dance by Rose - it was so moving you could here a pin drop.
Today we are unable to go to Manchester Urms so the driver says as there is a March there. Not sure if that’s right or he doesn’t want to take us? So we are off to Salford Quays. Been before and not a lot there unless it’s changed. We will have coffee an amble and a long lazy lunch.

Good morning all and it’s bright but chilly here in Essex.

I had a lovely long lunch with my friend yesterday having walked into town . Fortunately it had stopped raining, so at least I arrived dry , if a little out of puff. ?. We caught up on all our ‘doings’ and will arrange a Springtime outing with a local coach company. We do this a couple of times a year. Lovely!

DGD (12) has painted me a beautiful canvas ,( which I asked her to do.). I must display it but just can’t find the ideal spot for it. It’s on a white background and my rooms have a lot of brick and wood, so it doesn’t do it justice! I have to find somewhere before she visits again ?

I’m taking little DGD to her ballet class this morning and will bring her and her mum back here for lunch afterwards.
