Although I haven’t viewed the video as I don’t wish to see a cat being kicked across the room, I’m amazed that this multi millionaire footballer is still playing for his London club.

Compare this to the punishment meted out to the teacher that kick

Great memory Annie x
A friend of my daughters stole a pit bull from a garden. She’d reported to the rspca three times to no effect. It lived in the garden with no shelter, cans of food thrown out fir it to scavenge. She her boyfriend (aided and abetted by my girl) enticed the dog out and rehomed successfully through a breed specific charity.

These sort of stories are so heartwarming ?

A lovely story, Anniebach, what a brave girl!

Same for me Iam and my daughters and grandchildren, this
has brought back the memory of my darling daughter age 7,
she saw a man kicking his cat in his garden, she went in the garden and stole the cat, we took it to a cat rescue refuge ,said it
was a stray and they re homed it. No, I didn’t tell her she was wrong to steal that cat from it’s owner .

Yes his cruelty to a cat was truly sickening. I have not been able to look at the (redacted) video clips or newspaper pictures, but there is a niggling thought at the back of my mind too.
Where is the ongoing outrage at “golden boy” Harry Maguire, who was found guilty of assaulting a police officer, swearing, resisting arrest and attempted bribery on the Greek island of Mykonos in 2020? No question of him not playing for Manchester United.
More recently – more repugnantly – Raith Rovers signed a known rapist to the squad. A civil case ruled in 2017 that David Goodwillie and one of his former Dundee United team-mates raped a woman after a drunken night out in 2011. Yet outrageously, the Scottish Championship side gave Goodwillie a contract. It took fury, resignations, dropped sponsorship and mutiny from fans before the club performed a reluctant U-turn.
Hmm. Double standards?
For me the bottom line is that it seems footballers are such a valuable “commodity” that they are perceived to be above the law.
Now who else has that appeared to apply to recently………..?hmm

Karren Brady is as hard as nails. As others have said it’s all about money.

Iam64 Sat 12-Feb-22 09:14:54

Anniebach, it certainly doesn’t help teach children it’s wrong to hurt and terrify a harmless pet does it. I haven’t watched the video, only seen the stills and read reports. It’s said he slapped the cat out of his child’s arms. Then kicked it the length of the room- filmed by his brother, laughter heard in the background. I grew up with cats, dogs, rabbits in cages in the garden. My dad wasn’t an animal addict but we were and mum indulged us. As adults, we always shared our lives with pets.
Imagine, seeing your father behave like that. I’d have been terrified. I’m certain my mother would have intervened and I know I would. Out the door you brute. If you can do this to a cat- we aren’t safe eithrt

TillyTrotter Sat 12-Feb-22 09:06:39

Only the ones whose parents don’t teach them otherwise Anniebach. Most children love animals.

Anniebach Sat 12-Feb-22 08:43:21

Will this cause youngsters to think it’s fun to kick animals

GillT57 Fri 11-Feb-22 23:06:26

Karren Brady is driven by money and nothing else. I heard a chilling interview with her a few years ago on R4 when she was talking about going back to work when her child was weeks old, and she expected every other working mother to do the same. Based on that, I don't expect her to think it appropriate to sack a footballer for kicking a cat. Driven only by money

Karen Brady - another like Moyes with no moral compass or ethics. Follow the money

She obviously knows the words "You're fired" as she hears them often enough in one of her jobs where she facilitates the firing of candidates on The Apprentice.

What a mealy-mouthed excuse, Karren.
It's all about money.

grannyrebel7 Fri 11-Feb-22 22:12:24

The woman who punched and kicked her horse just before Christmas was sacked from her teaching job. Maybe West Ham should think about dropping Zouma. I know he's lost his contract with Adidas, but it looks like he's going to keep his job.

Zoejory Fri 11-Feb-22 21:48:35

How disappointing. And what a load of bullocks. Just because he's their best and mot expensive player. How dare she expect people to forgive this idiot. Redemption? It wasn't an error. No accident. No mistake. Just plain old animal abuse. So no, no forgiveness from me.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 11-Feb-22 21:44:25

Very disappointed in her.

And finally we hear from Karen Brady ???

tickingbird Fri 11-Feb-22 20:36:19

In fairness I don’t know if Zouma himself has cried racism but for anyone to even bring it into the conversation is a nonsense and insulting to victims of racism.

As for his wages they’re ridiculous but my son tells me over £200,000 PER WEEK is paid to some. It’s madness and no wonder young men not brought up accustomed to such wealth go off the rails. Plus surrounded by sycophants and hangers on that convince them they’re untouchable.

Callistemon21 Fri 11-Feb-22 20:10:15

Germanshepherdsmum

I see he’s ‘available’ to play this weekend. I hope more sponsors withdraw, there’s a great deal of booing and that he, his brother and Moyes are all sacked.

Hear hear!

Karren - where are you?

Smileless2012 Fri 11-Feb-22 20:09:24

A gross miss use of racism which is an insult to anyone who has been subjected too it.

Cruelty is cruelty whatever your race, age, sex, or gender. We are not racist to accuse a cruel person of being cruel. And to play the racist card to get off only adds to the magnitude of the crime.

Smileless2012 Fri 11-Feb-22 11:31:06

hmm I wondered when racism would be brought into it tickingbird.

Callistemon21 Fri 11-Feb-22 11:29:53

Her silence is deafening.
