Oh and a very warm welcome to . Toby hope you enjoy your venture into this forum it can be very supportive at times.
Good morning everyone it’s very dark still and I can hear the geese flying over from the east coast of Fife. Thankfully I managed a short hospital visit yesterday to see my dh who is starting to feel better unfortunately it seems the hospital staff have no knowledge of his chemo journey and they’ve been asked to get the doctor to phone our dd to discuss the missing communication. I met a new carer last night she seems lovely I hope she can cook.
but then she’s only 19 I got cookery lessons when I was at school and they are imprinted in my memory so I’ve learned how to make a very good roux for Mac cheese
Enjoy your Sunday my friends have a restful day
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and cloudy. I’m hoping at long last to get out into the garden later to see what’s growing and doing some general winter tidying up.
A warm welcome to Toby and good that you’ve joined on here
Sorry to hear about your DH struggling GM hoping things improve soon. Thank you so very much for finding time to finish my bag, you’re always busy doing something, I really admire you. I’m really looking forward to using it soon
Thinking especially of soop today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning all from wet Harrogate- it promises to be miserable all day.
Our new printer finally arrived yesterday, but DH didn’t want to get it out of the box. He waited until I was cooking, baking and dealing with washing- then he wanted me to help him!! He wanted to set it up, but it seemed I had to do it remotely on his PC!! I used to do everything on PC, but I’ve had Apple for the past 5 years. I decided to have another go this pm, might call on Curry’s Know-How if I’m stuck.
Sorry your DH has such problems GrandMattie - remember Women are from Venus and Men are from Mars. Glad your DGS is a bit happier, a difficult time for a teenager, without losing his dad.
Welcome Toby1932 good to hear from you
Have the best day you can folks
Good Morning everyone from a 6.8c and dry (so far) south coast. We are promised strong winds and heavy rain later.
Sorry to hear of your DH's travails Mattie . I too am married to a stubborn old goat/donkey/mule, all of which names apply at various times. Is it a man thing? I think they get scared at anything medical and retreat into being an ostrich. Quite a zoo we live with!
Laundry on the agenda here as there is a large pile of cycling kit needing attention plus all the usual. My Mum used to say "The better the day the better the deed" but I still feel guilty washing on a Sunday! I would leave it until tomorrow but I have booked an oven clean tomorrow so thought it best to get it done today.
Have the best day you can everyone and welcome *Toby1932"
Good morning all from a windy but dry (so far!) Torbay.
I had similar problems with Tramadol, grandMattie, when in hospital post hip replacement surgery. The staff insisted I should continue taking it along with an anti-sickness drug! I must confess to accepting them both but hiding the Tramadol in my hearing aid box to dispose of when I went home later that day. I hope your DH is better today and I’m sure your GS finds your support at every level to be a great comfort.
Signs of Spring in some gardens as I walked to the Downs yesterday, with blossom beginning to appear on flowering cherry trees. I couldn’t resist sampling a hot Cornish pasty in our favourite watering hole, The Buccaneer, along with hot chocolate. Today is the last day for mein hosts. ☹️
Welcome to Toby1932!
An early start to play for church but then lunch at my friend's house which will be a treat. I hope everyone enjoys a peaceful Sunday. ?????✝️
Thanks Urms, but a mule has everything to learn from DH. it has taken him up to now to ask for help…. I have given up suggesting things to him. He’s on his own!
? to you Toby1932 nice to have you join us!
Here’s Matt.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester. It’s still dark but it’s dry. I’d not have been surprised to see snow this morning as it was so cold here yesterday but nada. A quiet day for us mostly. No Sunday lunch with my stepfather as we all got together for a meal last night. I’ve offered to go over and mind the smalls mid morning so their mum & dad can take the opportunity of a leisurely brunch together, perhaps under us at the Loungers Bar.
Tramadol is industrial strength analgesia grandMattie. Perhaps something less powerful would take the edge off your husband’s pain without the awful side effects? I’d ring 111 this morning to ask for advice. Poor man he’s having a tough time. Better news though concerning your grandson which is heartening for you both.
Enjoy Sunday all who can. x
Good morning all. First time posting here and I hope everyone is in fine fettle today.
Still dark here in central Scotland but a faint hint of light on the eastern horizon. But for now it is dry.
Just heading out to Culross to walk the fur babies then back to hopefully paper our hall.
It’s been looking like a dogs breakfast for a year now ? so I really need to try and get it done.
Started it last January, painted all the woodwork and stripped paper off the walls then had a crappy time from my daughter which has knocked the stuffing out of me but this year I’m hoping to get back on track and stop wallowing on what I cannot change.
Onwards and upwards I say ????
Have a FANTASTIC day everyone and much love to you all
Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Dark and wet here too with more rain forecast.
DH was prescribed tramadol for something Mattie and our son-in-law asked out daughter ‘ What was up with your dad today’, because he was acting all weird. Glad to hear your GS is happier at the moment.
I’ve just put the slow cooker on for the meal later when Beechnutella and her fella come to see me. I do need some help with a computer problem but don’t feel in the mood for that today.
Have a good day all and enjoy your roasts ??
Good morning from a pitch dark E Kent. No rain yet, but strong winds forecast for later.
Poor DH was prescribed tramadol for gut pai, which has been going on for several months. The first pills were magic in analgesic effect. The next made him dreadfully sick; he was sick all day yesterday. So he’s between a rock and a hard place now.
I finished brook’s bag which I’ll post tomorrow.
DGS came over yesterday. A child transformed. He 17 with all the attendant problems of late teenage. Add to the mix, his dad’s death and he hasn’t been in a good place for a long time. He’s on mild tranx now and seems so much happier with life, it’s wonderful to see.
Early church this morning, then off to Argos to get him a new laptop - a bit of bribery to get him to finish his 2year course.
Hope today is better for us, and for all the anxious, sad, in pain, etc. Carpe diem. ??????
Good morning Michael, it’s very wet here too.
Enjoyed a lovely couple of hours trying glass fusion yesterday, I definitely want to do it again.
Absolutely nothing planned today other than a probably very squelchy dog walk or two and cooking a roast dinner.
Hope everyone has a peaceful day x
Good Morning Everyone,
