I browze fridges. And you? (lighthearted thread)

I know it's weird but whenever I enter a large store of electrical appliances I just have to go to the fridge section. I inspect and criticize very one. Never cookers or washing machines or dryers. Only fridges.

It's not as if I can change mine every year and as I have a very small, fitted kitchen with inserted fridge, cannot even indulge in one of those big, double door ones with water/ice distributors etc.

I also enjoy stationer's and hardware shops bat those are more banal.

Does anyone else share my "passion" or have one equally strange?

I adore stationery shops!

There is a Turkish barber near us. I have to stop myself from going in and asking if I can watch them doing these wonderful haircuts on the men and boys. I always gawp through the window as I go past. Fascinating.

When I used to go shopping with a friend we always headed for the bedding and towels! I still have far too much bedding and should get rid of more.

I’ve gone into our 2 local Turkish barbers and asked them to cut my hair ( they are so good ?)
They seemed a bit surprised and said, no, they didn’t cut womens hair. I wanted to ask if it was a cultural thing but thought better of it.

Did you Meryl? My husband has always said he'd like one of the shaves they do with those cut throat razors but hasn't had the courage so far!

I love bedding and towels too. I’m always browsing duvet covers. I’ve got five already and one has never been used, because I’m not sure I like it anymore. I’ve got two favourite ones that I tend to use the most.

My DH had a shave at the Turkish barbers, they also deal with nose and ear hair if anyone's interested ?

Kitchenware and pots, especially small bowls. We have loads of small bowls! blush

My DH likes looking in butchers shops, especially ones abroad.

Italian delicatessens and gift shops on holiday for me.

giulia Sun 13-Feb-22 12:35:44

Yes, I also love cooking equipment. Was tempted recently to buy a kind of flame thrower device (for caramelizing). Had to talk to myself very sternly in order not to!!!

I have one! I can't resist kitchen gadgets.

Boxes and storage containers. Furniture with lots of drawers?

I’m definitely odd as I love looking at pushchairs especially for twins or multiples! I’ve not got any grandchildren in this country so not sure why but it could be because I had so many different ones for my own children! I’m fascinated by the design and different seating arrangements.

That's so interesting Kate - I too have a thing about Turkish barber shops!

When I was married we had a Turkish friend who used to arrange many of our trips to Turkey - my now Ex and later sons always had a haircut at the local barbers, as did many other British visitors.

DS2 has lived in Switzerland for some years now and wherever he is insists on a Turkish barber! smile

Fridge/freezers always for me too.
Standing family joke!

I am now taken by the French style designs which have a deep pull out freezer drawer.
Sooo many new gizmos for the fridge section, too, these days!

Cheese shops, or delis with loads of bottles of olive oils and vinegars.
Kettles too.

Jewellery. Rings in particular. I yearn for them even though I know I can't wear rings. I hate the way they feel on my hands.

Kate1949 Sun 13-Feb-22 13:14:08

Riverwalk I don't know why they are so fascinating but they are!
