I browze fridges. And you? (lighthearted thread)

I know it's weird but whenever I enter a large store of electrical appliances I just have to go to the fridge section. I inspect and criticize very one. Never cookers or washing machines or dryers. Only fridges.

It's not as if I can change mine every year and as I have a very small, fitted kitchen with inserted fridge, cannot even indulge in one of those big, double door ones with water/ice distributors etc.

I also enjoy stationer's and hardware shops bat those are more banal.

Does anyone else share my "passion" or have one equally strange?

I always loved browsing a good charity shop but my recent passion is for hot tubs. Whenever we are anywhere that has them on display I am drawn to them and could spent forever comparing the capacity, seating, finishes, number and position of jets etc. My DH drags me away with a grin and a "No, you are not having one!"
I know, but I can dream....

I like going round department stores, but sadly there are hardly any left.

Furniture and clothes are my thing, although I certainly don't need or even want more of either.

Nor can I resist toy shops - they bring back all the wonder of being a child and longing for a whole toy store.

I am putting off going to the cat and dog home for two new kittens, as I know I will want every single cat they have! I think I shall ask if they need a volunteer - extra mum for homeless cats would suit me just fine, once we have made out choice and brought two kittens or half-grown cats home with us.

I have a thing about hardware shops. I love checking out small kitchen gadgets and utensils especially when abroad as there could be something wonderful that isn't available in GB. Fortunately, DH loves ironmongers too.

Wool /fabric shops I love. It’s like Mecca to me. browsing lovely colours and thinking what I could make, also stationery shops , I think I have a thing about pens and notepaper sets. Maybe a throwback to when I was a child and had to write Thankyou letters to Aunties at Christmas and for birthday presents ,

Bookshops and stationery shops. I have drawers full of notebooks, notecards, greetings cards, postcards, sticky notes/index markers, pencils. When my family ask what I want for Christmas or birthday I invariably say " just some nice stationery or a nice tablet of soap and hand towel". I've very much turned into my mother.
I run a mile at any sign of a Lakeland. I was traumatised by my late MIL who adored every Lakeland product and constantly went on about how I needed a this and a that to rest my spoon on, measure out my cling film...

I went to my hardware shop this morning and bought a beeswax block, some paint stripper, some dressmaking pins and a file grin I almost bought some scissors..

I hardly dare go into a yarn shop - I'd only add to my stash grin

Stationary shops and craft shop obsessed

Happysexagenarian Mon 14-Feb-22 16:47:38

Children's books! Whether it's a bookshop or the supermarket, if I disappear my DH always knows where to find me, and I invariably buy one.... or two, or three...

And I won't even mention the fabric shops, stationers and old fashioned sweet shops - mmmm!

I avoid most shops normally. However I can’t pass by any type of craft or art shop.

Kitchen showrooms. I’d love a new one.

Stationery shops and ironmongers here.

Wool shops- I can get lost in them. I also love a good cheese shop/stall and enjoy unusual flavours. My latest purchase was a cheddar type with the addition of Henderson relish (might only be known to Yorkshire folk) delicious!

All of the above: stationery, household linen and china, toys, gadgets, haberdashery, fabrics, even computer accessories. Not books (all those trees shock )

Although I am phasing out plastic bottles and tubes in the bathroom, I do love studying the imaginative concoctions for shampoos and shower gels. I don't get anywhere these days apart from the local supermarkets, so these are my small pleasures at the moment.

I'm obsessed with storage, so baskets, boxes and containers are my go to. IKEA do loads, I have a great time there, plus while I'm there I have to lift packets of their tealights.

Yes! Boxes and containers are quite exciting but often far too expensive to be justified and, when I do buy, always that bit too small for what I want to contain. Grrr!

Cushions and cooking pots for me.
