Sending love and prayers for her speedy recovery ?? .

Grandmajean Sun 27-Feb-22 13:11:35

Not the best news re Soop
Hopefully a blip that can be quickly put right. Sending all my good wishes to you Soop

Bellanonna Sun 27-Feb-22 13:05:09

So sorry for soop. I do hope the nurse can sort this setback out. Distressing for both the soops.

maddyone Sun 27-Feb-22 13:04:19

I too hope the inflammation in soop’s stoma is only a temporary setback. Maybe the nurse will prescribe antibiotics.

gillgran Sun 27-Feb-22 12:14:43

Thank you Baggs for keeping us "in the loop" about soop.
I join many others in sending warm, healing thoughts for a prompt solution to this latest problem for soop.

kittylester, I hope all goes well for your DGS & that he recovers quickly.

It's a bright, sunny, cold & breezy day here in N.,Cambs.,

Doodle Sun 27-Feb-22 12:11:09

Praying this is just a temporary setback and the inflammation is quickly dealt with. Thanks for letting us know Baggs

brook2704 Sun 27-Feb-22 11:56:09

Marydoll Sun 27-Feb-22 11:51:29

Sorry to hear that Baggs. Hopefully it's can be sorted quickly. Poor Soop. ?

Grandmabatty Sun 27-Feb-22 11:24:00

Not so good Baggs. Hopefully the district nurse can get it sorted. Poor Soop

Baggs Sun 27-Feb-22 11:19:18

Glad to hear Bertie got seen eventually. Here's hoping the sprain isn't too tiresome. It will be sore.

Bad news from soop, I'm afraid. The stoma site is inflamed. District nurse has been contacted. Healing vibes, prayers, whatever might work, are much needed. Please get busy, grans!

Grandmabatty Sun 27-Feb-22 08:52:28

Kittylester a sprain can be as painful as a break. I hope he recovers quickly.

brook2704 Sun 27-Feb-22 08:13:28

Hoping young Bertie isn’t in too much pain kitty and his arm heals quickly, it sounds like had a very long wait and a late night though, thanks for the update
Hoping you’re feeling a bit brighter today Blossoming take it easy ?

kittylester Sun 27-Feb-22 07:54:38

Just to report that Bertie has a very bad sprain. They got home at 11pm. Thank you for all the good wishes.

corner bet that was a relief!!

charley we were having cabbage for lunch - thanks for the warning! grin

Charleygirl5 Sat 26-Feb-22 22:46:41

brook I also have a large box of Maltesers which I keep forgetting about!

brook2704 Sat 26-Feb-22 22:43:56

That’s some willpower you’ve got Charley to have two bars of chocolate still in the fridge, there’s no chance here!

Charleygirl5 Sat 26-Feb-22 22:22:19

urms and corner-I am feeling really virtuous, my 2 bars of chocolate are still in the fridge. I am sure you misread the calorific content- I was under the impression it was cabbage and sprouts which I loathe, which are highest in calories!!!!

Chocolate melts in your mouth so it must be good for you. I would be rather careful with yours urms because you do not want a cracked tooth.

Urmstongran Sat 26-Feb-22 21:51:20

cornergran ? you just helped me feel less guilty.

cornergran Sat 26-Feb-22 21:42:46

Saturday treat urms. It’s allowed smile. The same as the chocolate I’ve just eaten grin.

Hope Bertie is soon sorted kitty.

Our eldest has sent photos from what he calls his great adventure. At least his anxious Mum can see he’s alive and well.
No hope for me for sure.

Pleased you had good company soop. Hope you’re more comfortable very soon.

Look after yourself blossoming.

Wow grandmabatty you put me to shame. If you’re not busy tomorrow you’d be very welcome here. grin

Sleep well everyone. TOYA.

maddyone Sat 26-Feb-22 21:38:44

Good evening everyone.
Kitty I hope your grandson is okay.
I’ve had such a lovely day. Now fully recovered from the kidney infection, I was delighted to see my niece, her husband, and two of her children today. She lives 250 miles away from us, and apart from seeing her for a couple of hours last December, when we were up north for my mother in law’s funeral, I haven’t seen her since pre Covid. It was so very lovely to see them. We went out for lunch and I invited our son and partner and grandchild to join us (our other son couldn’t join us as he’s in Brighton with his wife ready to run the half marathon tomorrow.) Anyway we all had a lovely time together, family reunited, well some of us anyway. Prior to lunch they went to see my mother, her nana, in the care home. She hadn’t seen her Nana for over two years, because of Covid.
The sad thing today was that we failed to get in touch with our daughter and her family in New Zealand. We normally video call them on Saturday night, their Sunday morning. We tried several times but no answer. I only spoke to my daughter yesterday by WhatsApp so I don’t think anything is wrong. Maybe they just went out. I just miss them and look forward to our calls, particularly this Saturday one as we get to speak with the children. She did send me some videos of them talking to us yesterday so I’ll have to be happy with those.
Anyway away to bed now I think, goodnight everyone.

Glad to hear of visitors for you Soop

Daren’t buy peanut brittle Urms I love it but I’d have no teeth left! As you say it’s so moreish too.

Urmstongran Sat 26-Feb-22 21:12:12

Hmm. Just checked the packet. The full slab is 526 cal. I’ve had about 400 cal. I’ve just pushed it to the end of the sofa but it’s winking at me.
Who am I kidding?

I am Never Buying This Again.

Urmstongran Sat 26-Feb-22 21:06:51

‘Evening All’

I’m reading your posts as I snap off (too many!) pieces of M&S peanut brittle. I dare not even think if they contain calories.
?
So delicious says she, as she breaks off another chunk.

For you Blossoming ? stick them in a handy container.

Happy to hear you went AWOL today soop for such good reason. Sounds like you enjoyed yourself. Excellent.

Grannmarie Sat 26-Feb-22 20:56:45

Good evening, lovely Kitchen people!
Dear Soop, I'm glad to hear you had entertaining company, a lovely way to pass the afternoon.
Brook, I hope your wee GS tests negative soon.
Blossoming ?? for peace of mind.
Kitty, so sorry to hear that Bertie is still waiting, poor boy, I hope he's not in pain.
Grandmabatty, what a special time with your family yesterday, I love when wee babies start telling their stories.
Jaxjacky, that sounds like an interesting comparison, I wonder what they'll discover.

We've had a restful day, nice steak dinner, now watching Saturday night telly ?

TOYA, NNGB ? ?

GrannySomerset Sat 26-Feb-22 20:34:30

Poor lamb - to say nothing of his mum! Decades ago when I was a housemaster’s wife I spent many a Saturday at the local A&E with the rugby injuries. No wonder DS took up rowing as a safer option! Hope the outcome of the wait is satisfactory.

Jaxjacky Sat 26-Feb-22 20:31:12

Hope Bertie is ok kitty and it’s not a 4 hour wait. I had my hair cut yesterday, it feels a lot shorter and ‘too tidy’, it’ll grow soon enough.
I also had a PCR test delivered soon after my ordered lft’s, a trial that’s being done to compare the two, from Edinburgh, most odd.
Rugby watched, a very close later game, dinner eaten, late for us, TV on.
Very pleased you are enjoying a wee bit of company soop.
Here’s to the easiest of journeys tomorrow Urms off to the warmth ?.
Take care of you Blossoming x
I’ll wish you all a gentle evening.
