As a fairly newish poster I may be breaking Gransnet rules by asking this question but here goes. Alegrias1 is a frequent and lively poster on here, usually on the more in-depth topics but I haven't seen any responses from her in a while. I have been wondering if she is ok. I hope she is.

Lemon I was concerned, hope you will post again x

Thankyou Lemongrove for the update.

With regard to political party- bashing; it isn't the arguments that are off-putting, it is the unprovoked gratuitous rudeness, of which there are some examples on this thread.

Missing you already, lemongrove. I hope you’ll come back to see us every now and again.

nanna8 Tue 22-Feb-22 23:09:18

Enjoy your freedoms, lemon and please come back anytime you feel like it! Not much on tv these days, maybe gransnet on those off nights when you aren’t going out ?

maddyone Tue 22-Feb-22 22:58:24

You are missed lemongrove, so please pop back from time to time.

TerriBull Tue 22-Feb-22 21:45:44

Yes I always thought that about POGS which is why I mentioned her, I'm sorry she no longer posts.

Shinamae Tue 22-Feb-22 21:29:01

And may I say I haven’t noticed Vampire Queen post for quite awhile..

MerylStreep Tue 22-Feb-22 21:20:58

Callistemon
Your last sentence, so true. Never nasty or judgemental, never put anyone down. She just put forward a very reasoned intelligent post. Miss her.

Callistemon21 Tue 22-Feb-22 21:13:09

lemongrove thank you for the update and I agree with you that every day had become Groundhog Day!
Wishing you all the best and hoping you may call in occasionally in future as we miss you.
?

(Some gossip - I heard on the grapevine that lemongrove ran off with the Admiral from The Argy but don't tell anyone, it's top secret)

POGS hasn't posted for a long time. She was always so calm, patient and reasonable in putting across her views.

Galaxy Tue 22-Feb-22 17:15:48

Oh I miss POGS now you mention her, I didn't agree with her sometimes but she was interesting and polite in disagreement smile

brook2704 Tue 22-Feb-22 17:11:49

Awww I’ll miss you too Lemon but wish you all the very best and thank you for letting us know

Grannmarie Tue 22-Feb-22 16:59:55

All the best for the future, Lemongrove, I really enjoyed my Hogmanay in the Argy, your hospitality is legendary!

I, too, will miss Alegrias. She was meticulous with her research and her posts were very informative. I liked her style!

Curlywhirly Tue 22-Feb-22 16:42:45

Lemongrove agree with GillT57 thanks

GillT57 Tue 22-Feb-22 16:23:42

Nice of you to pop in lemon, keep well cafe

Curlywhirly Tue 22-Feb-22 16:16:17

I had also wondered where Alegrias1 had gone to. I always enjoyed her posts as she was so well-informed and I learned so much from her on the N and P threads.
There was also a poster (can't for the life of me remember their name) who only posted for a few months, before recently disappearing. He/she must have been a psychologist or something similar; their posts were really informative and gave an insight into people's behaviour. Pity they didn't stay I really enjoyed their contributions.

Urmstongran Tue 22-Feb-22 16:01:31

maddyone

I miss both Alegrias and Lemongrove. Opposite sides of many arguments but so what. It’s good to have different viewpoints expressed.

Me too maddyone.
I’d hate to be left with a confectioners mix of anodyne comments.
lemongrove told me she was leaving which I thought was sweet of her.

Kalu Tue 22-Feb-22 16:00:07

Wishing you all the best too Lemon

Yammy Tue 22-Feb-22 15:57:17

Galaxy

We can express views about someone leaving yammy. I am carrying on as normal grinwhilst expressing the fact that I liked her.

I hope you do keep on posting and expressing your views I hope we all do without being castigated for minor things.
After working with children for nearly 40 years bringing up a family and having grandchildren there is usually one of three reasons that people go quiet.
1. They don't want attention, in that case, leave her alone.
2, They are upset about something well you are not going to find that out it could be a bereavement or family troubles.
3. They want attention which they get by people constantly asking what is wrong and still not answering.
Your guess is as good as mine as to the answer.
Lemon grove has kindly taken her time to explain why for the moment she has withdrawn. I hope she is happy in the pursuits she is taking up again.flowers

That’s what I did Fanny. Hilarious. I looked for it the other day and couldn’t find it, perhaps the rozzers closed it down??

TerriBull Tue 22-Feb-22 15:50:39

I'm sorry GN loses prolific posters, diverging opinions are to be expected as with any cross section of individuals.

Sadly some favourite and larger than life posters on GN have died so those losses are permanent. Then there are those who sadly just go to ground and leave us wondering if they're OK, POGS for example haven't heard from her for ages and whatever became of The Misandry Officer I wonder?

Lemongrove so sorry to hear you have decided not to post, but good to let us know you're okay, I shall just say I hope you return and Alegrias too. In the meantime best wishes.

FannyCornforth Tue 22-Feb-22 15:32:43

You were indeed brilliant behind the Argy bar lemon ?
When I first joined I ‘back dated’ the threads as far as I could and read them like a book! Really, really funny ?

Marydoll Tue 22-Feb-22 14:59:00

Lemon good to see you. Fond memories of the original Argy!

Summerlove Tue 22-Feb-22 14:58:23

Be well Lemongrove ☺️

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 22-Feb-22 14:57:06

Thanks Lemon. You are missed.

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 22-Feb-22 14:55:50

Well I haven’t actually seen any posts to that effect from Tory supporters Gill. As I said, I think most keep out of it.
