Best, Best Savoury Snacks! ?

For me it’s maize based stuff as opposed to potato based.

Snaps, Quavers, Wotsits and the like… although I am partial to Hula Hoops…

And as mentioned on the Chocolate thread:
Scampi Fries and Cheesy Moments - available behind the bar of your local in the 90’s (do they still do them?)

So, what is your savoury snack of choice?

Thank you smile

I really miss Ready Salted Chip Sticks
The Salt n Vinegar ones are okay, but they make your mouth hurt if you eat too many
(which I am prone to do)

M and S cheese crispies

Beechnut Wed 23-Feb-22 06:42:28

Pringles for me. Especially the salt and vinegar ones.

M and S cheese crispies

Oh yes, and their cheese straws!

BlueBelle Wed 23-Feb-22 06:45:24

Twiglets and salt and black pepper oven cooked crisps

FannyCornforth Wed 23-Feb-22 06:45:51

Pringles really are evil.
They were spot on with ‘Once you pop, you can’t stop’.
I have to stop myself from buying them for this reason - especially when they are paired with hummus

Honey roasted cashews. Or are they sweet?

FannyCornforth Wed 23-Feb-22 06:51:39

Cashews are the food of the Gods kitty

Tyrrells ready salted crisps or salted almonds- the flat type that are hard to find. Think they’re called Marcona almonds. Delicious.

BBbevan Wed 23-Feb-22 07:08:03

I eat lots of almonds and other nuts. Crisps very occasionally. I buy the pea and bean sticks from ‘Eaten Path’ Not quite the same as a bag of Smiths crisps but o.k.

Mixed unsalted nuts for me with the occasional bag of cheese and onion crisps.

TillyTrotter Wed 23-Feb-22 07:17:11

Tortilla chips and Tesco’s fresh onion + garlic dip.
(Other dips like M&S’s aren’t so good for dipping as too sloppy. Tesco’s is just right).

My favourite are ready salted crisps. Walkers or Golden Wonder. Or for a rather tasty but naughty snack I save for a special treat.. a plate of Doritos sprinkled generously with grated cheese and black pepper and placed in the microwave for a minute or so. Then a dip of choice on the side. I recommend trying it if you haven’t already.

I certainly will Gnw!

NannyJan53 Wed 23-Feb-22 07:25:32

Seabrook crisps , plain only.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 23-Feb-22 07:26:42

I loved those Scampi fries too Fanny I’m not sure you can still buy them.
My current favourites are from M&S small cheese biscuits in a couple of different flavours. Gorgeous and go down a treat with a glass of vino ?

Grandmabatty Wed 23-Feb-22 07:30:14

Tortilla crisps with a hint of lime do it for me. I no longer buy them as I could eat the whole pack in one go.

fairfraise Wed 23-Feb-22 07:31:47

Cashew nuts. I bought them in Lidl for years but the quality has changed lately. Also Brazil nuts.

Sago Wed 23-Feb-22 07:50:36

The beautiful plain crisps in a clear bag from French supermarkets.
There is nothing in the UK anywhere near as good.
When in Ireland “ Tayto” crisps are a favourite.

Curlywhirly Wed 23-Feb-22 07:50:40

Cheese and onion or beef crisps.

dragonfly46 Wed 23-Feb-22 07:55:10

My DH worked for a famous snack company and came home with an assorted bag every Friday. Our DC were the most popular in the neighbourhood! We never touch then now. Maybe too much of a good thing!

Maggiemaybe Wed 23-Feb-22 07:57:12

I second Seabrook crisps. But prawn cocktail for me.

teabagwoman Wed 23-Feb-22 08:37:44

Cashew nuts, peanuts or a pepperoni stick for me.

MissAdventure Wed 23-Feb-22 08:41:25

Peanuts, cheeselets, hummous and breadsticks.
Sweet chilli crisps, tortilla chips, cream crackers; I love savoury snacks!!
