Online shopping frustration

Just a bit of a rant (not usual for me). I decided to start online shopping with my usual supermarket (‘every little helps’ - not sure if I can mention the name)
I booked my slot - today between 4-5pm and made sure I updated the order on Wednesday.
I’ve got my grandchildren today and am going out tomorrow so was looking forward to having everything delivered.
I spent a long time doing the order as it was a first one. This morning I received an email from them to say my order had been cancelled! No explanation so I immediately thought I had done something wrong. I contacted them and apparently they were sorry but there was a system issue and they weren’t able to offer anything else.
To add insult to injury they sent a text just now to say I haven’t been charged for my order that never was!
Have others had this experience or is it just beginner’s bad luck.

I think that’s just bad luck. I’d try again with a different supermarket.

I think you were very unlucky. I’ve used mostly Tesco for nearly four years and never had this, I would contact them to complain, they answer the phone pretty quickly.

Just read that lots of people have had the same issue with Tesco and told it's a system error. Mine was ok on Thursday but I do click and collect. Did the delivery one when I had my bunion op. I did have an issue last year when I was overcharged. Phoned the helpline and it was an error and they were getting lots of calls about it. The chap refunded it all and I got several items free due to the error.

That must be so frustrating! I've never had an issue like this with any of the grocery delivery services I've used for many years - Tesco, Sainsburys or Ocado. Unless Tesco delivery has really gone downhill lately, I think you've just been very unlucky, Thoro.

Just finished shopping!! Thanks for your replies- they said at the checkout the system had been down - at least it’s not just me!

Thanks for coming back Thoro give it another go, I had my Tesco order delivered earlier, nothing missing, no issues. Best of luck.

This has happened twice, the first time I rang them and they said it was cancelled and I went shopping the next day.

The second time they said it was cancelled and my husband went because we needed things straight away. He was at the checkout when I rang to say it had just turned up 3 hours late. Bless him he did go and put the fresh and frozen back but abandoned the rest

We use Morrisons and never have a problem but several friends have told me of problems with Tesco.

I use Tesco, but recently decided to give Asda another go, after several years away from them. Couldn`t remember my password, so made up another, was told I was already a customer, go ahead and shop. Tried to start shopping, was told they didn`t recognise my email address or password, so now back to square one!
