Good morning from a clear, chilly, dawning E Kent, graced with apricot skies.
I’ve taken the mantle in Mick’s absence in York this morning.

Good morning from a sunny South Yorkshire. I gather it's cold and icy though. Lincolnshire grandchildren coming today for the weekend which is very exciting as we don't see them so often. Have a good day all x

Good Morning everyone from a bright and sunny but frosty (-!c) south coast. Looked in earlier but it hadn't been opened up until Mattie did her deputy-Mick duties!

Just back from getting the click and collect and having our usual treat breakfast of fresh croissants and coffee. DH is out with his cycle club this morning so I shall enjoy peaceful reading of my paper. Also expecting the third of six monthly deliveries of fresh flowers. An inspired Christmas gift from DH.

Lovely to see Iris on the mend again and hope she is soon back home. Did the house sale complete Mattie? Had my fingers crossed for you yesterday.

We had an unexpected pleasant surprise yesterday afternoon when a boyhood friend and former rugby playing colleague called in. He is a widower but has some family just down the road from us and visits them quite often so calls to see us too. DH and he were in the same form at school and played rugby together for 30 years so lots of reminiscing! I always enjoy hearing our own northern accents reflected too!

Hope the day is a good one for us all. sunshine

Good morning from Cheshire. Sunny and frosty.
Lovely pictures in the thread this morning.
Family meal out this evening to celebrate daughter's birthday two days ago. Ten if us plus eldest granddaughter's boyfriend who is meeting us for the first time. Think he's a confident 20 year old which is just as well !
Have a peaceful day all.

Good morning from a frosty Black Country.

No plans today as still feel “off” with the itchy patches and puffiness round eyes. Taken 2 prescribed tables and it seems to be easing off. It is on 2 of my fingers as well as I assume at some point I touched my face!

Gwenisgreat I had new hearing aids connected to Bluetooth about 3 weeks ago. The difference in hearing on phone calls is fantastic!

My Niece is now home from Australia after almost 3 years, so we are having a family get together next weekend at Brothers house. Then she starts a new job in London end of March. At least she is on the same Continent now smile

Wishing you all a good weekend

A beautiful morning here in Oxfordshire, I can't wait to get out and walk with DH and dog. I'm feeling much better after having a dreadful cold, thankfully not covid. Some planting of seeds and a tidy up of the garden is planned. Enjoy the ? today, a contrast to such dreadful world events that are unfolding.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Thanks for opening up grandMattie ,good to see Iris with her Lego.
I'm another who spent yesterday with the grandchildren lovely sunny day in the park, the boys highlight was to sit in the police riot van and sound the siren.
Friends coming later and we will go to the club.
Usual full English calling so will read through everyone's posts later.
Enjoy your Saturday and may you all find some ?.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Northampton. Looks cold out though.

Spent much more than intended at the shops yesterday! Came home with a new pair of yoga trousers and two scarves which caught my eye. Still not managed to spend my Next voucher though.

Spent a very frustrating time yesterday trying to renew my rugby season ticket on line without success. Next port of call is DD or DSil, then it will be an email or a visit to the ticket office at the club. I have followed the step by step instructions so carefully to no avail.

It is DS's birthday today + 43, how did that happen? He has decided he wants to cook for us all at home, so we are all gathering for his birthday dinner, and then staying overnight. Looking forward to seeing the DGDs and whatever DS decides to feed us - he is a very good cook. I think wine may be taken....

Hope Mick is having a good time in York. Lovely family pictures on today's thread.

Hope Saturday is kind to all.

Picture of DS, who turns 43 today! Think he was about 15 months when this was taken, and we were living in Cyprus.

ShazzaKanazza Sat 26-Feb-22 09:29:40

Well that’s a picture to cheer anyones day up BlueSapphire.

Good morning from Durham, bright and only breezy today. We’ve been battered by winds for weeks.
Coffee with a friend first, then a bit of container gardening later.
Will have to contact gardener on Monday about work, as I seem to have been abandoned!
Best wishes to all for the weekend.

Good morning from a lovely bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
DH has gone to do some work on his boat, I am pottering.
Rugby and football this afternoon.
I am pleased to see Iris looking so well and obviously enjoying her lego. I have a granddaughter who loves lego and has things she has built all over her bedroom.
Have a lovely Saturday whatever you may get up to xxx

GrannySomerset Sat 26-Feb-22 09:58:04

So good to see Iris on the mend though expect the weeks to come will be demanding for her parents. Let’s hope this is it so far as surgery is concerned.

Bright and cold this morning. I am stewarding at an art exhibition in church so another step back into normal life. Must buy and post birthday card for DS who will be 55 on Tuesday which I find hard to believe. Hope we all have a good enough day and enjoy the signs of spring all around us.

A later good morning from the edge of S Lanarkshire where it’s bright but windy.

Overnight stay at DD and SiL’s to celebrate her last day in her job and start of new one on Monday. She is excited about new opportunities and I hope it works out for her.

Not a good night’s sleep unfortunately because the radiator in my room is jammed ‘on’ and I sleep best when it’s cool/cold.
They’ve only been in this house for a few months and the heating system is on the list but not yet at the top!

However I’m combining this visit with a lunch in a very nice local restaurant with two old friends so I’m looking forward to that, in fact time to get ready now.

Lovely pictures of grandchildren GrandMattie and Ashcombe and I hope Mick is having a great weekend.

Safe journey tomorrow Urmston, friends left yesterday fir their ‘place in the sun* in Cala Honda, I do envy you all!

Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend, something we are all lucky to have. ???

Good morning all, the sunshine is out in W Kent and we have done a slow morning walk. Good to see Iris on the mend.
No plans today just reading the paper in the sun

Purplepixie Sat 26-Feb-22 11:23:30

Good morning from a sunny but cold East Midlands. The news is so depressing - I feel so sorry for the Ukranians.

Good morning Mick (if you’re reading this) and everybody. Thank you for kicking us off GrandMattie. It’s sunny and bright in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 8°C.

Glad Iris is doing well GrandMattie she’s a wee trouper. Hope your DH gets some relief soon.

Lovely photo Ashcombe.

Safe journey tomorrow Urmstongran.

What a cute wee boy your DS was BlueSapphire, lovely big smile.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
Hope Mick is enjoying his break.
100 Mike round trip yesterday to be with close friend down in the dumps after eye operations. Took him out for a gentle drive for the first time. The whole thing has knocked the stuffing out of him, detached retinas came out of the blue.
Today enjoying pottering about, sharpening my make up pencils ? washing etc.
My friends condition and Ukraine makes us count our blessings…
Pastel drawing of my cat.

grandMattie Sat 26-Feb-22 11:56:47

Yes, gaga, the sale was completed but not without the redemption value being wrong, the balance wrong…. You couldn’t make it up! ? Thanks …

Purplepixie Sat 26-Feb-22 13:07:07
