Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry here in brackley at present .
My weekend break in York , the hotel was by the river ,and I had ground floor room ,and looked out onto the river, and watched the swell recede over 2 days to normal level .
I have put on weight as per the meals etc, but it was also cold s well , finding the chill effected my own heart condition.
I went to Harrogate on the coach on Saturday , with 4 hours there , the plan was to meet Gwen but that did not happen as I felt more time would be better ,anyway I have a holiday booked in August nearer to Harrogate.
To be honest I wish this trip had been later towards Easter with milder weather .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning and welcome back, Mick. Hello everyone from sunny frosty Carlisle. From your posts it sounds as though our horrible wet grey day yesterday has gone south.
I'll finish off the housework and admin today and look forward to some gardening this afternoon if it stays fine.
I've a train and a hotel to book, I'm now off to London at the end of the month for a family birthday bash. I refused to meet the wider family at Christmas but think I'll risk it now. None of us are getting any younger.

Happy St David's day to the Welsh contingent!

Nannytopsy Tue 01-Mar-22 09:06:34

Good morning Mick and all his followers from a rather damp Suffolk, where the forecast is for more rain.
I shall start on the foothills of the ironing mountain this morning then it’s WI committee this afternoon.
We need to drop off DGD’s school bag as it got left in our car.
I wish I was in Spain Urms! We have promised ourselves a trip when DH’s leg ulcers have healed but that could be years. He has had these ones for about 5 years now. One leg is virtually better so perhaps we’ll have a trip to celebrate that one!
I hope the day is kind to everyone, a pinch and a punch and white rabbits!

Anniebach Tue 01-Mar-22 08:54:12

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Kim19 Tue 01-Mar-22 08:53:49

Urms, you are one lovely lady. Thanks for the beautiful Welsh emblem and then Matt who, like yourself, never lets us down. Your day ahead sounds fun from start to finish. Enjoy. ?

luluaugust Tue 01-Mar-22 08:43:45

Good morning all and a Happy St Davids Day to my welsh cousins from a wet and miserable W Kent.
Hoping friend will pop by today but wouldn't blame her if she wanted to stay in. Pancakes later. Best wishes to all

BlueBalou Tue 01-Mar-22 08:42:28

Gosh grandMattie, I just love that bag ?
Good morning everyone, it’s a dull start here today, grey and drizzly.
I have a badly infected ankle wound from getting the long dog lead wrapped around it three weeks ago so GP and Practice Nurse have given me strict instructions to rest it elevated, strong antibiotics and painkillers, all very frustrating. DH will have to walk DDog now ?.
Hope everyone has a good day x

BlueSapphire Tue 01-Mar-22 08:32:03

Good morning and happy White Rabbits day to all!

Out for coffee to a neighbour's this morning, along with other neighbours past and present. Have just done a LF test to make sure I am not spreading the virus! Negative thank goodness.

Then if it's dry, joining my usual Tuesday afternoon health walk - the walks have now been rebranded as Ramblers Well-being Walks. It's so good to walk in company, and to socialise over a drink afterwards. Must ring up with a query over my travel insurance at some time today.

Had a good yoga session yesterday morning, then coffee with a friend at the little cafe afterwards. Spent the afternoon upgrading the security on my laptop; think I've successfully downloaded the new system as recommended ordered by BT.

Hope you have a better experience next time you go to York, Mick. Take care.

May make pancakes later, but will have to pop into the shop after my walk for some milk.

A pleasant St David's Day to all.

Good morning all from sunny South Yorkshire. I am still on grandma duties as DGD1 decided to start with chicken pox but improving now. Hopefully back at school tomorrow. She is however very tired and actually fell asleep on my knee yesterday.... unheard of for years bless her. I have an opticians appointment later this morning so himself will be chief babysitter.
Sorry your trip to York was not quite as you'd hoped Mick
Hope your husband picks up soon Scentia
Love to all x

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s a beautiful, bright, cold and frosty start to the day.

Happy St David’s Day to all our Welsh posters. ???????

I slept like a log after my busy weekend followed by a working day, they say older people need less sleep but I’m afraid that certainly doesn’t apply to me.

Another lovely bag Mattie, I hope
Iris’ pain has lessened today.

Marydoll, take it easy wumman!

That sounds like a smashing birthday GrannySomerset - belated happy birthday wishes to you.

I’m meeting up with a gransnetter who I haven’t met before, looking forward to it.

Have the best day possible everyone. ?

Gingster Tue 01-Mar-22 08:10:55

Good morning and it’s raining and dreary!

Off to do the school run so we’ll get a bit damp. Never mind . It’s not worth taking the car as the parking is dreadful.

Lovely catchup with Sar and GG yesterday. We’ll do it again soon. ?.

Wishing you all a ‘good’ day, whatever it brings. ???

Grandmadinosaur Tue 01-Mar-22 08:07:52

Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire. Happy St. David’s day. What a delightful photo * Susan* .

Also it’s pancake day and am fancying some for breakfast. Then I am of to my coffee morning.
Can’t drag myself away from the news. Praying it will come to a swift end and that that horrible man will be no more.

On a lighter note happy birthday to Mr Shazza Hope he enjoys his day. I know that restaurant. We went there on my last birthday!

Take care everyone.

Sar53 Tue 01-Mar-22 08:05:27

Good morning from a wet Essex by the sea, very miserable looking outside.
A lovely lunch yesterday with Gingster and GG13, it was good to catch up.
Not much going on here today, pottering I think.
Have a pleasant Tuesday everyone xx

kittylester Tue 01-Mar-22 08:03:40

Good morning from a calm North Leicestershire.

A new choir, run by my singing teacher, is starting in the village today so my neighbour and I are being brave and hoping we won't be the only ones there.

It is the 82nd birthday of DH's brother today. He and his wife are getting quite frail and their children are very hands off - it's a worry!

I miss PRINTMISS every time a new month dawns.

Happy anniversary corner - do you think it will last? thanks

Ali23 Tue 01-Mar-22 08:01:57

Hello everyone from Wells next the sea, where I’m the only one who is awake so far!

Mick, I’m sorry that you break was a bit of a disappointment. Glad you’re home and in the warm now.

We spent the afternoon in Wells yesterday, eating lunch at the lovely deli there. The gulls were in abundance, sitting on car rooftops. As usual the Ddog enjoyed adoration as we ate. She is an elderly border terrier and enjoys the attention. (She’s snoring now!)

Happy Tuesday, all.

GrannySomerset Tue 01-Mar-22 07:57:53

Had a surprisingly good birthday yesterday. I decided that I would be miserable on my own so invited some local friends in for tea and cake and a very lively tea party ensued. Today is DS’s birthday so I hope he does as well even without a geriatric party.

Supermarket and later pancakes with a friend - not possible to make the mixture for one so we will combine forces and enjoy the treat together. Lemon juice and sugar for me, DH preferred orange juice.

Sounds like you need to be grounded till Friday, Marydoll. We await the wedding report impatiently so we need you there in best observer form.

monk08 Tue 01-Mar-22 07:54:33

Good morning all from the Black country, lovely sunny start to the day but it's showing up the dust so it looks like today is sorted.
We're at the theatre tonight to see Fatal attraction, will go for a meal beforehand.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed, enjoy your day and may you all find some ?.

Grandmabatty Tue 01-Mar-22 07:49:52

Should say St David's Day. My apologies.

Pittcity Tue 01-Mar-22 07:49:46

Good morning from rainy Colchester. It's feeling a bit milder.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day so I'd better get ready.

Happy Anniversary Corner

Love to all ? x

Grandmabatty Tue 01-Mar-22 07:49:21

Good morning all from Polmont. 2° and frosty with lovely blue skies. I'm sorry Mick that your trip wasn't as good as you hoped. Being chilled is so uncomfortable. Grandmattie the bag is lovely. I hope Iris gets better soon. Happy anniversary Cornergran and happy At David's Day to all Welsh grans. A lovely photo Susan.
Yesterday was a waiting in day for phonecall and a tesco delivery. I was quite lazy in between both.
Today I'm heading to town to buy a gift card for dd. It's her birthday tomorrow and she wants to renew her makeup collection so a visit to boot's is required. I will pick up card for mounting a painting I did. I will do some pastel drawing later today and begin a little oil painting. I might get into the garden for a while. Chicken for dinner. Have a good day all

brook2704 Tue 01-Mar-22 07:42:39

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright, dry but cold.
Your bag looks lovely Shazza, I’ll be using mine again today when I go to my Fitsteps dance class later - thanks again to the very talented GM!
That’s a gorgeous photo Susan such lovely smiles
Happy Anniversary Corner enjoy your day! ???
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Marydoll Tue 01-Mar-22 07:40:10

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where its only 0°.

Happy St David's Day to our Welsh grans. This would have been my late father's 116th birthday today, he was a fair bit older than my mother.

I'm sorry your trip did not live up to your expectations, Mick and you didn't manage to meet Gwen. York has always been a favourite of mine, there never seemed enough time to see everything.

Thank you GM for your kind words. Unfortunately, yesterday was a particularly bad day for me. After organising the buttonholes for Friday and having a lovely chat with the florist, who had made DD's bouquet, I started to feel really really unwell and light headed, so spent the rest of the day in bed. I woke up hours later to smell Mr MD, cooking dinner. He must have been worried, he rarely cooks!!
I had so many plans, so will need to catch up today. As Soop would say, such buggerations.
Thank goodness it wasn't Friday.

While I was in bed, I could hear the landline ringing for ages, DH never answers it, because it will definitely not be for him.
It turns out that his new car, which wasn't due until May, has been delivered!! Panic stations all round.
However, totally out of character, he told them he was too busy and he would deal with it after the wedding. Thank goodness for that, we are busy enough this week!

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans. I will go and read all your news at my leisure..

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 01-Mar-22 07:36:14

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Happy St David’s Day to those who it is appropriate.
Sorry the weather wasn’t warm enough for you Mick you have to admit it was nice and bright, though.
Yesterday spent our 52nd wedding anniversary resetting my MacBook, then finding I was locked out of it. Managed to contact Apple and they got it sorted. Now that’s done I shall have to get my bank to unblock me. DH has had the same trouble with his bank and was on the phone most of yesterday to try to sort the problem. We’d Ben told our new printer needed to be changed, so took it back, just to be told there is nothing wrong with it, where the lead goes in is meant to be very loose!
More wasted time - I was thinking to myself “happy anniversary “
Picked up a meal from M&S to celebrate, wasn’t too impressed with the choice - pie or lasagne, but DH was happy.
This morning, my art club is restarting as is another club at the church, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, so not much chance of getting anything else done. Though DH and I will have some pancakes tonight!
Sorry little Iris is in pain GrandMattie love your bag!
Have the best day you can folks

Susan56 Tue 01-Mar-22 07:33:06

Good morning from Shropshire.

We have had a really hectic few days but today should be more relaxing.DD is taking me out for lunch and then we are going to see Death on the Nile. It’s my birthday tomorrow so an early celebration.

Thinking of Iris and hoping that Marydoll is resting and feeling stronger ready for the big day on Friday.

Scentia, very difficult for you and your husband.Thinkingnof you both.
