Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark and wet morning here in brackley at the moment.
Today, a quiet day for me with a small shop.
I now need to start to loose weight again ,as over last weekend having meal courses plus drinking as added to my weight but I hope I can get it down slowly as per my usual eating routine.
Take Care,
Mick

BlueBalou Wed 02-Mar-22 06:15:28

Good morning Michael, it’s wet here too.
Not a lot planned for today other than a potential gardener is coming to see me this morning, fingers crossed!
Having been told I must rest my damaged ankle DH will have to walk DDog, that’ll be fun listening to him moaning about it ☹️
Back to surgery for redressing tomorrow, I will avert my eyes ?

Good morning, Mick and all who follow from a damp Torbay.

It’s surprising how quickly a few days of indulgence catches up with us, weight wise, Mick, but I’m sure you’ll soon lose it now you’re back into your normal routine. I hope your ankle is healing well, BlueBalou.

The weather is appropriate as I have a visit from a damp surveyor this morning to inspect a mould problem that only began when the other half of the building was ripped out last summer to make flats. In the seven years since I moved here, it’s never been an issue and I’ve been quite upset about it as it has also caused mildew in the futon in my spare bedroom, which adjoins next door.

Others have far worse worries and I hope today brings relief to those in pain of any kind. My condolences to henetha on the loss of your brother in law. A difficult decision regarding the funeral, but I believe there are trains from Newton Abbot that run to Edinburgh without the need to change.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Wells next the Sea
I bet the extra pound or so will soon drop off Mick.

We had a lovely day yesterday, and visited Little Walsingham to see the snowdrops. Breathtakingly beautiful and there were sooooo many birds singing that I recorded it to send a birdsong postcard to my ACs.

Enjoy your Wednesday everyone.

Urmstongran Wed 02-Mar-22 06:38:15

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s just getting light. We have absolutely no plans for today which is nice in its own way. The forecast is for 20°C today. We will just see what we feel like doing later and follow our noses.

Enjoy Wednesday all who can. I’m dreading looking at the newspaper headlines each morning. I woke in the night and the situation was my first thought. x

Good morning from a drizzly E Kent. This weather is forecast to last.
I had a disturbed night full of weird dreams. I have been so tired these last few days that it isn’t good.
Our pancakes were delicious - the Staffordshire oatcakes were with a bolognese type sauce and salad, the sweet ones with either Nutella or lemon, sugar and blueberries. Yum!
Today, I shall go to church to be ashed. Loads of laundry to wash, dry, etc.
Since his scan ten days ago, DH has been offered a colonoscopy and a PET CT scan, one tomorrow the former on Saturday. I hope they get to the bottom of his pain.
Hope today is kind, and Marydoll gathers her energy for Friday. Carpe diem. ????❤️?☀️

Morning Mick and all

Up early as due to all the pre-moving chaos, the 7yr olds PE Kit hasn’t been washed, so I have just put a wash on.

It’s damp here in S E Essex, my cleaning fairies are here this morning, which is a good thing as we will have a full house for a couple of days as eldest AC and wife are arriving for a few days at lunch time.

It will be an early meal at a local restaurant this evening, two youngest AC and their families, us and the eldest, it’s not often this happens.

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Beechnut Wed 02-Mar-22 06:51:52

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s damp here and I see rain forecast for most of the next two weeks.

I’ve an errand to run to a diy shop to gather up a few things I need for various jobs.

I had a nice chat with my friend yesterday. She told me of going’s on in my town which I thought was funny as she lives many miles away. Will have a chat later with Beechnutella.

Have a good day all ???

Gagagran Wed 02-Mar-22 07:10:14

Good Morning everyone from a rainy south coast.7.4c. Set to rain all morning but despite that DH still plans to go out with his bike club for a ride. I suspect there will be an early return home though!

Media is still full of Ukraine and the suffering brought upon the population by the crazy man in Moscow. It is hard not to weep to see those devastated women and children trying to find safety. If this is not a war crime I don't know what is.

Nothing much on the agenda here apart from DH going cycling but my cleaners are due at 8am so need to get a shift on.

Thinking of those with health or other worries and especially of Ukraine this morning.

Have the best day you can. sunshine

Good morning Mick, morning all from slightly frosty South Lanarkshire.

My condolences to you Henetha. thanks

A lovely day yesterday, Stilllearning and I met for coffee and managed to chat for three hours. We will meet again for sure.

Not a lot happening today, we have booked a trip to Rome for later this month and I need to work out our itinerary and book museum tickets although it’s hard to believe that we haven’t already seen the inside of each and every museum in Rome. This will be our third trek through the Vatican museums, I’m hoping it will be fairly quiet, we once had the Sistine Chapel almost to ourselves.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??

Good morning Mick and all from a very soggy South Devon.
The burial of my cousin's ashes went as well as these things can, the playing of Calon Lan finished me off I must say. The cemetery is in Bishopsteignton Ash.
It was a dry drive down until Exeter then it chucked it down all day.
Have a good day everyone.

Pittcity Wed 02-Mar-22 07:23:51

Good morning from rainy Colchester. Another wet, miserable day here.
Glad it's only a ten minute walk to the weekly coffee meetup. We'll probably drive to the supermarket this afternoon to stock up. We had decided to walk there daily but life and weather has got in the way of this idea.
Love to all ? x

Morning Mick, morning All from a very damp corner of Somerset

Excellent day yesterday involving coffee and biscuits, lunch, then tea and cake before our journey home. In between we spent an hour in a calm and unhurried Cathedral, had a walk around a fascinating indoor market and found a pair of half price shoes for me. Thoroughly enjoyed letting the bus take the travelling strain. Today it’s back to routine with a grocery delivery and some cleaning. Relieved to see a midnight message reporting our son had accomplished his 8 hour solo road trip. Phew.

My condolences to henetha. Hope the surveyor can help with the mould issue ash, very unpleasant. Your husband is having speedy diagnostic intervention grandmattie, fingers crossed for a helpful outcome.

Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is gentle with us all.

kittylester Wed 02-Mar-22 07:26:28

Good morning all from a calm North Leicestershire.

Today DH has a volunteer drive this morning and I have a Carer Learning course at 9.30 at the other side of Leicester so it's all go.

Yesterday, we took a load of towels and bedding to a local Polish supermarket which is acting as a collection point.

GG, are your cleaning fairies able to come here? Our latest cleaner is not good and very expensive. We have another one coming to see us this pm.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 02-Mar-22 07:31:56

Good morning from East Yorkshire . It is a darker morning but dry.

Today I have an appointment for pedicure and lashes this morning then a hair appointment at lunchtime. Getting ready for our holiday next week. Apart from sorting out our evening meal that will be it.

Lovely holiday planning Baubles it’s a place I haven’t been but have wanted to. I’m envious!

Take care everyone.

Elspeth45 Wed 02-Mar-22 07:32:48

It's been raining all day in Sydney, and most of QLD and NSW. Terrible floods. No end in sight, and its beginning to smell!

BlueSapphire Wed 02-Mar-22 07:36:18

Good morning everyone from a wet Northanpton, with rain forecast for most of the day. And of course today I am due at the hairdressers!

I must also trek to the shops; I decided to make beef goulash today, duly got the beef out of the freezer to thaw, then realised I had no carrots. Bought some at the shops yesterday after my walk. Then yesterday evening discovered I had no onions either! So an extra journey for me after my hair appointment today.

A further phone call after lunch to sort out my travel insurance is needed, then shall spend the afternoon cooking and reading. May make pancakes, as I didn't get round to it yesterday. However, like Mick, I really need to lose a few pounds!

Hope Wednesday is kind to all.

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 02-Mar-22 07:42:05

Good morning all from dreich Harrogate
Condolences Henetha flowers
Yesterday was very enjoyable, back at the art club - I didn’t do much painting, made coffee for for all and chatted. The afternoon Tuesday Club was also very good. I also finally managed to unblock my bank account and get the printer working. The main task left is get get my hearing aid Bluetoothed to my phone, then work on the microphone which I haven’t had time to investigate.
We have a surveyor coming to let us know why our kitchen ceiling looks like it could fall at any moment and to tell us what to do about it!
BlueBalou I hope your ankle is better soon.
I also hope your DH gets to the root of his troubles GrandMattie
Have the best day you can folks

Marydoll Wed 02-Mar-22 07:49:36

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, its 1°C here.

We have a busy day here. Off to church, as its Ash Wednesday, then out to pick up DH's kilt and go the bank to get some cash for the wedding. Who carries cash nowaday?. DH, true to form, will be his very generous self and buy drinks for family and friends at the evening reception.
If I feel OK, he will take me for a fish tea after all that, if not we will get takeaway.

There will be an old style sweetie shop at the wedding and DS2 asked if I would make tablet and macaroon bars for it.
Initially, I said "Yes", but sadly, although I planned to do it yesterday, I just couldn't manage it. So it it won't be happening, in order for me to be well for Friday. That was a first, I'm usually happy to oblige, when friends and family ask. sad

Mick, I'm sure you will quickly manage to get back to a weight you are happy with, it was only a few days of overindulgence.
I tried on my full outfit yesterday and managed to get the zip up, with no problem, Much to my relief, I must gave lost a couple of ounces wink, so I don't think fat pants will be necessary. Phew!
My friend advised me to avoid wearing them, if possible. Half way through the night at her son's wedding, she thought she was being squeezed to death by a boa constrictor!

DH actually complimented me on my appearance, now that was unexpected! ?

Special thoughts for Henetha and her family at this sad time and Soop, who is having a very hard time of it at the moment.

Prayers for the brave people of Ukraine. I was in tears last night, watching the news and seeing their unbearable situation. What an evil man, Putin is.

I haven't read the posts yet, but have a pleasant day, whatever your plans.

GrandmaSeaDragon Wed 02-Mar-22 07:49:45

Good morning to you all. I am now back home. SonIL safely returned from Perth but DD has told me not to say anymore on here. It’s grey and misty, just seen one squirrel jumping through the trees, now he’s on the bird table raiding the nuts! The breakfast serial on Classic just now was “Sussex by the Sea”, which I chose for my Dad’s cremation as he grew up there. How I miss him. Waking up to more awful news this morning from Ukraine.

Marydoll Wed 02-Mar-22 07:51:22

Baubles ?????????????????????

ShazzaKanazza Wed 02-Mar-22 07:52:15

Good morning Mick and everyone from Hull. Elspeth45 it’s terrible hearing about your floods hoping the raining ends soon and the waters recede quickly.
Grandmadinosaur enjoy your pampering.
Today getting the fortnightly shopping for my uncle and picking up mum to go and see him. Wonder what he will be complaining about today lol. But he’s sweet.
Feeling a touch delicate after a lovely meal out last night for DHs birthday.
Listening to the news of Ukraine with a heavy heart ?
Hope Wednesday brings everyone moments of joy.

Gingster Wed 02-Mar-22 07:56:30

Good morning all and yes it’s dreary again here in Essex.

DH is going out for breakfast with two of his old school friends. I encouraged him to go as he’s becoming a bit of a hermit.

Housework and pottering for me.

Yesterday, as I walked the dog, I passed a hairdressers and on the spur of the moment popped in and asked if they could fit me in for a dry trim. Yes! Took the dog home and went back. Brilliant! It took 20 mins and was £20.
I’ve had my usual hairdresser for 30 years and I go to her house. She’s lovely and very good but it’s a bit of a journey , she talks for England and is more expensive. Just haven’t seemed to have the time lately. I will go back to her but this was so convenient.?

GG you have a busy few days. Hope all goes well with the move.?

Ash poor you with the mould. Let’s hope the damp specialist sorts it.

Elspeth - my friend is visiting her daughter in Sydney and she says the floods are dreadful. Very worrying for you. Take care. ?

Keep safe everyone and dry! ?

brook2704 Wed 02-Mar-22 07:58:15

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve blue sky but it’s frosty and cold. Hopefully it’ll warm up a bit later
Yesterday after my dance class I met DD2 and we enjoyed a walk in the lovely sunshine at Brodie Castle and a yummy lunch nearby. Today I’m going for a splash around at the Aqua class at the gym and then coffee and a catch up with my friend afterwards. We’re off to visit DD1 in Cambridge tomorrow so I also need to get a wriggle on and get my case packed including a few treats for the DGC ?
Sending condolences to Henetha ?
Hoping the damp gets sorted quickly Ash and your kitchen ceiling too Gwen without too much hassle for either of you both
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, take care all whatever the day brings ?

Jaxjacky Wed 02-Mar-22 07:58:40

Good morning all from a damp, grey, S Hants. My sincere condolences to you and your family henetha.
I had a lovely birthday yesterday, out to lunch with a friend, local in the evening, MrJ is taking me out tonight. I’m hoping my daughter will be neg at the weekend so I can see them and my son who works nights.
Have a gentle day all ??
