Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dark and wet morning here in brackley at the moment.
Today, a quiet day for me with a small shop.
I now need to start to loose weight again ,as over last weekend having meal courses plus drinking as added to my weight but I hope I can get it down slowly as per my usual eating routine.
Take Care,
Mick

It's very grey and damp here this morning in Oxfordshire,it looks misty over the fields, not to mention wet.
Henetha my thoughts are with you.
I am trying to find some brightness and joy in every day, yesterday a lovely dog walk after work despite the cold wind and drizzle, walking in the countryside is my 'happy place' and never fails to lift me.
So much suffering in the news, so very hard to watch. We can only imagine the distress and fear these people are enduring.
May you find some comfort and joy to warm you today.

Morning from Cheshire. Wet and miserable here.
Condolences to you Henetha
Have a lovely time with your family Grannygravy and same wish to others meeting up with friends or relatives.
Another here who can't stop thinking about Ukraine.

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Mums and toddlers today and I was late out of bed this morning so I'm chasing my tail, will read everyone's happenings when I get back.
Fatal attraction was very well performed and Kym Marsh gave an excellent performance.
Enjoy your Wednesday and may you all find some ?.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Grandmabatty Wed 02-Mar-22 08:50:17

Good morning all from Polmont. No rain here but frost on the roof opposite and only 1°. I can see clouds and blue skies. Ashcombe what a worry for you about the mould. I hope it gets sorted quickly. Elsbeth I'm sorry to hear about the floods in Australia. A dreadful thing.
Yesterday was a good day. I got mounting card for my snowdrops painting, picked up a gift card for dd and headed home. Almost as soon as I was home, my friend sent a message asking if she and her partner could come for a coffee. Fortunately I had pancakes in, so they got coffee and a pancake. In the afternoon I worked in the garden for an hour tidying up the weeds.
Today is my dds birthday. She is 31. I'll nip up to see her later as they're going out to The Fort(shopping mall near Glasgow). She's ordering me a Chinese takeaway from my favourite restaurant which doesn't deliver to my village for dinner so I'll look forward to that too. Before all that, a visit to mum then art class. It's the last one for a while as the tutor has an exhibition to get sorted and she is being filmed soon. We are very lucky to have her as a tutor as her work is sought after. Anyway, I hope you all have a good day.

Good morning to Mick and all his followers. Suffolk is grey and damp again although it has stopped raining.
Today I shall finish the ironing before a haircut late in the afternoon. I think a good tidy up is in order too, then we can get out in the garden as soon as we get some dry days.
It looks awful in Australia again - floods must be so horrible to clear up from. We carefully looked at the future flood prediction maps before we bought this house.
Marydoll can you take this chance to pass on the tablet secret to your daughter? You sit in the kitchen and instruct her in the dark arts!
I hope the day is kind to everyone, particularly those who are not well.

Grammaretto Wed 02-Mar-22 08:58:46

Good Morning from the Scottish Borders, The sun is up late and so am I.
I have a funeral this morning for a familiar identity in the town. I shall be praying hard.

I am glad you enjoyed your trip to York Mick and the food was good smile

Baubles' holiday plans sound lovely envy making

flowers for all who have sorrows and grief.

Morning everyone! Wet day here in Yorkshire. I am not complaining though as we have enjoyed four lovely sunny days down south. Busy day yesterday as looking after grandchildren. Need to sort out things today and tidy up! smile wishing you all a good day.

It’s a two crumpets for breakfast day, I cannot eat them without thinking of our very own CrumpetQueen

harrigran Wed 02-Mar-22 09:21:58

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Hairdresser came yesterday but I had no plans so caught up on some TV.
DD is now back in her home in Belgium, I really miss her.
SIL will take me shopping this afternoon then we will prepare paperwork for the financial advisor's visit tomorrow.
Thinking of those who are poorly.

luluaugust Wed 02-Mar-22 09:37:24

Good morning all from a damp and overcast W Kent.
Condolences to Henetha
Ash I hope the damp is sorted out.
Another slow day here, not sure why except friends seem to have a lot of family problems and we haven't really got back to all our clubs yet

Stilllearning Wed 02-Mar-22 09:46:44

Morning from S Lanarkshire where the sky is grey but hopeful little patches of blue.

As baubles said, a really happy meeting yesterday, I feel I now have two ‘real life’ Gransnet pals which is lovely and I’m very much looking forward to meeting others at our planned Glasgow get together.

I am waiting for a call from our GP practice ( note, practice. We seem to have an unending stream of doctors passing through so no continuity of care at all and it’s really worrying)
Anyhow I won’t be able to get to church till this evening which will definitely be my Ash Wednesday sacrifice.Although it will save me from well meaning people telling me I have a dirty mark on my forehead!

Not hard to decide what to do for Lent this year, many prayers will be offered for Ukraine.

Hope to get to my exercise class and coffee catch up at one o’clock, please doctor, call this morning!

Wishing everyone the best day possible???

EkwaNimitee Wed 02-Mar-22 09:56:41

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey but dry Carlisle though it may not stay that way.
Yesterday I planted the last of my bareroot shrub roses. More hacking out big holes, they have well developed root systems. One small part of my garden has this solid clay just below the surface and guess where the rose with the biggest root system had to go. My little mattock has been a star buy. I was relieved to get them in, the leaf buds are swelling fast. It's evident throughout the garden that plants think spring is here and it's time to wake up.
Today I've already done the ironing and cleaned more windows and it's time to down tools and get coffee.
Not before wishing you a happy belated birthday, Jaxjacky and wishing all the best possible day.

GrannySomerset Wed 02-Mar-22 10:02:41

Waiting a call from the surgery to do my annual medication check which will take all of five minutes. Nothing planned till Ash Wednesday service this evening, so bed changing and thank you letter writing will fill the day.

Keep resting, Marydoll; glad Mick’s York trip went well despite the weather, and hope for a good day.

Georgesgran Wed 02-Mar-22 10:07:04

Good morning from Durham where it is grey and only just dry. I think rain is forecast later. Ran into a lady I fell out with 20 years ago yesterday and felt life was too short, so struck up a conversation with her only to be reminded by her overbearing, boastful attitude why we had stop talking in the first place!
Coffee later with a friend of 50 years, which I am looking forward to. Hope everyone has a good day, bearing in mind the terrible situation in Ukraine.

hollysteers Wed 02-Mar-22 10:16:52

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
I too am going to cut down on goodies Mick, I’m not keen on this little tummy poking out of fitted clothes!
Very enjoyable singing session yesterday and I had the largest piece of sponge cake on the plate, so moist. One participant sang his song, holding on to my chair as he had a headache, then had a funny turn and his wife came to collect him. Hope he’s ok even though he sings the same song every week…
Off to lunchtime recital today and then to visit a friends mother in nursing home. I have a couple of books, magazines and baby spider plant from my large plant producing lots of babies.
Wish I didn’t keep falling asleep in front of the tv at night, I’m having to catch up on the programmes I only see half way through.
Thoughts to ‘henetha*?

Blossoming Wed 02-Mar-22 11:02:00

Good morning Mick and everybody. Non stop drizzle in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 7°C.

I had a good sleep last night, thanks to some vile tasting medicine from the pharmacy. I don’t care about the taste if it helps!

I’m on week 4 of the Diabetes Prevention eating plan and was pleased to find I’m now 5kgs lighter than I was when I started the program. Only another 20kgs to go grin. I’m finding it quite easy to stick to the plan, I think motivation is important.

I love Rome Baubles, have you visited the Villa Borghese? The gardens are my favourite place for a day’s meandering.

Please try and rest as much as you can before the wedding Marydoll.

I hope you’re safe from the flooding Elspeth it looks dreadful.

Jaxjacky I can’t remember if I wished you a happy birthday, the last few days were a bit of a blur. Belated greetings to you flowers

My thoughts remain with the people of Ukraine, and also those in Australia affected by floods.

Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?

Purplepixie Wed 02-Mar-22 11:26:40

Good morning from a very wet East Midlands. It is back to painting for me this afternoon - watercolours.

Purplepixie Wed 02-Mar-22 11:27:46

Blossoming - What did you take to help you sleep? I need something as I haven’t had a decent nights sleep in ages.

Auntieflo Wed 02-Mar-22 11:36:56

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. Just managing to pop in before it is Afternoon.
Had a lovely meet up yesterday with some of my GN friends. But, oh my goodness, the cafe chairs were so hard and uncomfortable, my hip was and is still suffering today.
We had pancakes yesterday, but I cheated by buying Blueberry ones from Waitrose. OK but not as nice as home made. Serves me right for being lazy.
Our lovely cleaner has been and gone, off for a run, my friends put me to shame, they are all so fit, what with running, walking and wild swimming. ?
Phone call soon from my oncologist, then a lazy afternoon with my knitting.
Have a good day one and all.

baubles Wed 02-Mar-22 11:45:58

We’ve been in the beautiful gardens Blossoming but this time we will book a slot to visit the gallery too.

Blossoming Wed 02-Mar-22 12:46:10

Purplepixie it’s a stomach medicine, the pain, nausea and acid reflux were preventing me from sleeping.

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 02-Mar-22 13:30:02

Oops! Belated birthday greetings Jaxjacky have a lovely meal out this evening.
Sorry about those in Australia with the floods - very sad. My nephew is in Sydney, so he will have the same problems.
Heartfelt sympathy to those in the Ukraine.
