I'm back. We have had a bit of a crisis, this morning. The back door won't lock and we are awaiting a locksmith. There was to be family get together this afternoon, but we now can't go! ?
Yesterday was fabulous, but we did have a few disasters.
•The taxi, which was booked, only arrived after three frantic phone calls. My neighbours were ready to step in and run us there, before going back to get themselves ready.
•As I took off my mask , getting out of the taxi, my earring flew off and shot through the railings of the university, across from the church. As I turned to alert DH, he was half across the road and oblivious to my plight! Sharp eyed SIL, spotted it, a fair bit away from where I was standing in tears, while DH, strolled merrily on his way! ?
•During the evening, my DIL, (not the bride) became very unwell, with food poisoning. ( from sushi, she had a lunchtime). What a disaster. We couldn’t get hold of a taxi and a guest, kindly took her home, despite the guest having a long drive back to Oban ahead of her. I was so worried. Poor wee Dollie was understandibly upset about her mummy and having to miss the wedding.
•DS1 was trying to look after his wife, when Dollie had a massive nose bleed all over her bed! It never rains, but it pours.
Apart from that, it was a great success. DH’s speech was full of props, as a nod to my son’s childhood fixation with practical jokes and all things scary. These include a green moving hand and a skull, which had pride of place on the top table. The children present, had a great time, playing with them all night, with the adults also looking for a shot!
So here, as promised are some photos. DS has given me permission to post a photo with wee Dollie in it, I wouldn’t have considered it, without asking him!
Group of four, my friend; Dollie and us: my cousins.
