Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry here in brackley this morning, its surprising how quickly the week has gone .
Yesterday I notice in the bus the Blackthorn is still in blossom , usually a sign of bad winter weather still about.
Today, hopefully my day will me get the bus to Buckingham ,and then to Bicester, mainly for a change of scenery , on arrival at Bicester go and have a breakfast bap in cafe , do other shops as well , before coming home to watch cycle racing on TV this afternoon, followed by a Chinese Take Away , I also like to follow the local football team scores ,as they are second in the National League North to see if they better there nearest opponents.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a dark, dank E Kent. Not expecting a nice day.
The situation in Ukraine barely bears thinking about. Poor poor people/country.
Spent a fortune in advance for one crown + bridge at the dentist. It wasn’t painful or anything - except to my pocket.
The gardener came. He’s a very nice chap, the Asperger son of a friend. He did a grand job, working very hard weeding, clearing, pruning and hopefully getting rid of most of the two invasive plants - grape hyacinth and Japanese anemone.
We are to arrange how often he is to come in future and on which day. Great!
I had a bad night, with long periods of insomnia so shall no doubt spending it moping and dozing.
Hope the wedding went well, Marydoll, thought of you and your family frequently during yesterday.
Ma4vtodayprove to be kind to you all. Carpe diem. ??❤️☀️??

Good morning Mick - I thought about you yesterday as we were driving home from Hertfordshire and passing through Bicester! Lots of traffic and new housing - busy place!

I’ve loads to catch up on with Miss Marydoll wedding outfit and gossip but hoping henetha got to grips with Zoom for a sadder day - all that travelling takes it out of you so a more leisurely trip to your sister later on will be something you’ll both treasure ?

Our friends were an absolute delight (and a hoot but we knew that from our times with them in ?? where we met them two years ago) and much Cava was popped ?? as we dined - and she’s a darned good ?‍? as well!

Spent Thursday at Bletchley Park - golly, what clever people they were - most of what I saw was above my head ? but their dedication and brilliance saved our skins didn’t it! ?

Have a lovely weekend peeps, those who can at least and may it be bearable for all x

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s dry and cloudy.

I’ll spend sometime in the garden today. It’ll mainly involve moving things around in preparation for tomorrow’s job.
Afterwards I’ll make a meal for me tonight and its supposed to taste better the second day so will be able to have it tomorrow as well.

Have the best day you can all ???

BlueBalou Sat 05-Mar-22 06:35:31

Good morning everyone, it’s dry here too in north Wiltshire.
Off to a garden centre with a friend for coffee this morning, a first in over 2 years so really looking forward to it.
Then I guess more resting my ankle before doing a bit of gardening later. I cannot get a gardener for love or money and it’s so frustrating. I have had 3 just not bothering to even turn up or let me know they can’t come ☹️ after having made appointment to come.
Hope you all have a peaceful weekend though the dreadful Ukraine situation is never far from my mind ?

Good morning, everyone, from a dry and clear Torbay with another sunny day in prospect.

I think you made a wise decision to remain at home, henetha, helped by the advice of your family, about whom I’m sure you were thinking yesterday as they represented you at the funeral. Sad times but a release, as you said. ?

Yesterday morning we had a most productive meeting at the theatre, which caused me to conclude that our elderly brains definitely function better earlier in the day! Our regular committee meetings are generally in the evening.

Today I’m having a cut and colour, which always includes a good catch up with my stylist. The timing is perfect as DH (*olddudders*) will be back in town on Tuesday! It’s such a relief that we no longer have to endure the PCR tests in order to cross borders. Our family Christmas was nearly ruined by delayed results.

Happy weekend, wherever you are! Safe travels to those on the move. ?????

Morning Mick, morning All from a chilly dry corner of Somerset.

Almost sorted our back garden after the wreckage caused by fence replacement in a downpour. It’s so muddy out there. A little more to do later today. Our friend can now walk with a boot, she hopes to venture out and come for coffee this morning. First time out alone. Disappointed because dear friends who should have stayed next week have cancelled as one is very unwell. Concerned about her.

Sluggish this morning after a disturbed night. Hope you can rest if you need to grandmattie. Looking forward to hearing from marydoll today. We also enjoyed a trip to Bletchley Park pantglas. I left in awe of the people who had worked there.

Take care everyone. Hope Saturday is kind to us all.

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sky is streaked with a soft pink light.

Work today and I’m hoping for a dry day as we are not well positioned for passers by especially in bad weather.

I’ll catch up later, have the best day possible everyone.

Newquay Sat 05-Mar-22 07:00:57

Good morning from a “lurker”. I do enjoy reading your posts while having great sympathy for those who are going through hard times.
Had a difficult week here is Staffs. DH who is usually in good health was suddenly taken ill on Monday, called 999 (a first!) Tuesday evening as I though he’d had a stroke. Ambulance turned up 4 hours later!
Admitted to hospital where he languishes with a serious UTI. He’s suddenly a poor old thing, bless him. Can only visit for 1 hour between 1-4pm and only me. He’s been moved to a side ward so at least it’s more peaceful and they don’t seem to enforce the one hour rule there.

No rain today in Sydney! Everyone in Northern NSW cleaning up. Actually saw the sun today

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 05-Mar-22 07:10:56

Morning all from a damp Oxfordshire. I’m getting up soon to take my weekly alendronic tablet. I am hoping to finish a pair of curtains for the downstairs loo, which I started the other day. The fabric is from Thornback and Peel. Pink jellies and puddings. Hopefully we will get a quotation from a decorator this weekend for our lounge, kitchen, hall and landing. This afternoon OH and I are popping over to a local second hand yard, I would like a mahogany bookcase and he would like an office chair. BTW I went to the Waitrose website yesterday to add something to my shopping list and was able to make a donation to the Red Cross in aid of Ukraine. I have never known an invaded country attract so much attention and support as Ukraine.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Hull it’s going to be cold and showery today.
Just put on the news and it’s so awful seeing those poor people fleeing for their lives ?
Today I have routine mammogram and then a walk through Beverley with DH and somewhere for lunch. Tonight friends are coming for a takeaway and drinks then staying over. Lovely lunch with DD yesterday she’s two days overdue with DG2.
Take care and hope Saturday brings everyone moments of joy.

brook2704 Sat 05-Mar-22 07:15:46

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s grey, cloudy and still a bit wet
A warm welcome to newquay but so sorry to hear about your DH, hope he’s back home again soon
Not sure what we’re doing yet today but no doubt we’ll be off our somewhere. DGSs both have swimming lessons first thing this morning so we’ve no rush to get up and ready
Exciting times ahead Shazza hope all goes well for your DD
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?No

Gwenisgreat1 Sat 05-Mar-22 07:24:05

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
I have finally got an appointment for a dental checkup at the end of the month!! I phoned last month for an appointment - Good thing it’s not urgent! Hope I don’t need and crown repairs GrandMattie
Didn’t get the uplifting news I would have liked from the consultant, but it could have been worse.
Sorry about your DH Newquay hope you have some good news soon.
Had a pretty idle day yesterday and foresee the same today, but who knows?
Looking forward to seeing some wedding photos Marydoll
Have the best day you can folks

Urmstongran Sat 05-Mar-22 07:29:40

No Matt. Perhaps he’s on holiday.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s calmer. That cutting wind has died down. It’s not sunny. We have white cloud and a temperature of 15°C.

My first thought as I logged on was about yesterday’s wedding for Marydoll and wondering how it all went. I’m early so I’ve bagged a ringside seat. Budge up a bit. Thanks! Now I shall sit expectantly waiting for The Wedding Novella. With some photos please!

Seriously, I do hope it was a fabulous day all round Marydoll.

Gingster Sat 05-Mar-22 07:37:24

Good morning all and it’s dreary again here in Essex. It seems to match everyone’s mood ?.

Yesterday we walked round the RHS Hyde Hall in the drizzle, but it was lovely to see all the bulbs appearing and the glorious swathes of daffodils. Nature is coming back to life after a long winter ???. We had a coffee and a scone and then met up with our old pals for a lunchtime drink in our usual country pub sitting by the fire. Simple pleasures and feeling grateful for what we have. ?.

Today I will take little gd to her ballet class and her mum will take her for her singing group. It’s all at the same place but an hour between classes ?. They’ll probably come back here for lunch and spend the afternoon, which will be nice. ❤️.

Elspeth glad to hear the rain has eased. My close friend is staying with her Dd and family in Yamba, which has been cut off for at least a week.

Newquay I hope your Dh recovers well. At least you can visit him now. ?

Looking forward to hearing about the wedding, Marydoll.

Hoping you all have a gentle day. Look after yourselves.?

Grandmabatty Sat 05-Mar-22 07:43:54

Good morning all from a frosty Polmont. 0° with blue skies. Welcome Newquay. I hope your dh is home soon. Gwenisgreat ? Elsbeth that's good that the rain has stopped. What a dreadful time Australia is having.
Yesterday dd messaged me she had covid. She had a headache and was tired and achy. The baby isn't well either so she was going to test him. I felt helpless so I went into baking/cooking mode. Lemon drizzle cake, smoked mackerel paté, chicken stock, chicken curry and leek and potato soup so far.
Today I will go to Aldi to get the basics and I've offered to take dgs1 for a few hours to make things easier. So it'll be dinosaurs and running and jumping this afternoon. Have a good day all.

Urmstongran Sat 05-Mar-22 07:46:09

I thought this photo in the Telegraph was poignant.
They dubbed it ‘War Paint’.
Such a cutie isn’t she amid all the carnage and worry.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 05-Mar-22 07:49:52

Morning Mick and all

It’s very quiet here in Gravy Grange, as DD and the GC are now in their new abode. I miss them so much already…

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

kittylester Sat 05-Mar-22 08:04:17

Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire- well the heating is still not working.

DH fell yesterday carrying a calor gas canister to the car - a result of the silly CH being broken. He has grazed knees and his (replaced) hip is very painful.

I am taking Persie to the village panto today.

ShazzaKanazza Sat 05-Mar-22 08:04:35

Newquay so sorry to hear about your husbands stroke hope he’s back to fitness soon.
Urmstongran that is a cute poignant picture children always give us hope.

Nannytopsy Sat 05-Mar-22 08:05:11

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
Suffolk is dreary today, like our neighbour Essex. I think it will have to be indoor jobs until this afternoon’s rugby match on TV. I am longing for sunny days, with breakfast on the patio and time to potter around the garden.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Stilllearning Sat 05-Mar-22 08:07:21

Morning from S Lanarkshire, white with frost but a lovely clear blue sky. Hopefully I’ll get a good walk with a friend this afternoon, followed of course by coffee. We’ll probably walk round Strathclyde Park, it’s about 3 miles round a small loch with quite a lot of wildlife. I always enjoy walking by water.
There are more interesting walks around where I live but my friend is still wary after a heart attack at the beginning of December, so I’ll travel to her.

Yesterday it was nice to join with the other churches in our wee town for the World Day of Prayer, never more needed.

Hope the wedding went well Marydoll and wishing everyone a good day ???

Grandmajean Sat 05-Mar-22 08:14:20

Bright but cold here in Cheshire.
Newquay a UTI can mimic many things so it's good your DH has been diagnosed. I wish him a speedy recovery.
Ukraine is on my mind all the time. How evil is Putin !

NannyJan53 Sat 05-Mar-22 08:15:32

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country.

MrJ’s DD is visiting. She lives in London where she is doing a PHD. Not sure what we are doing today, probably a walk as the weather looks fine. Out for a meal tonight.

Sorry to hear about your DH Newquay flowers

Looking forward to hearing from Marydoll about the wedding !
