Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside this morning.
Yesterday , did the route to Bicester via Buckingham and met friends ,also when I got home I had received my pre ordered DVD copy of Steven Spielberg's version Of West Side Story, this is on DVD release as of tomorrow .
But I sat and watched it , I think either headphones with a good lead would be the answer, having watched the film a few months back not the same.
Today will be quiet with Cycling on TV this afternoon.
Take Care,
Mick

Morning Michael and all who follow. I went to see WSS in our local cinema recently. Loved the familiar music and the new (to me) voices but thought the sets were not a patch on the original. Much too depressing and the people were so 'dressed down'. Looked out of the window to see a very heavy frost on the cars. Back to bed quickly! I did some seed planting yesterday so hope they will be ok. Think so. No grand plans for today but all sorts of little niceties have been turning up lately. I live in hope! Have a good day everyone!

Good morning Michael and all who follow, it’s very dark but too early to get up and see what the weather is doing in Oxfordshire.
MissOops and nephew to lunch, then dog sitting until tomorrow evening, so apart from a walk with the dog a quiet day.
Love the wedding pics Marydoll
Hope everyone has a peaceful day.

Good morning from a grey, unpleasant E Kent.
Marydoll, I was so pleased for you all that everything went well. Thank you for the photos showing the splendidly garbed MOG and dear little Dollie.
Phew, all the tests and fasting are over! DH’s problems are indeed due to damage caused by radiotherapy some 16 years ago. We are seeing a consultant on Tuesday for the results.
DH gave me a list of what he wanted to eat once permitted to do so. For lunch, he had smoked salmon on sourdough, and for dinner he had chicken Kyiv in support of Ukraine. He pronounced everything the nicest he’s eaten for some time.
Today, I’ve got Sunday School. We’re going to talk about Lent; a difficult topic for very small children, not easy for the older ones.
Have a good day all my dear virtual friends. Carpe diem. ?????☀️

grandMattie Sun 06-Mar-22 06:35:11

Oh, and for those crafty people, a chance to help Ukraine at the same time as making a pretty wreath for spring.
Look up “Denman online” for Friday 11 March at 1345, and for £5 you not only get a class but the tutor, Claire Salmon, is donating her fee towards a Ukrainian fund. Iunderstand there will also be links for donations.

Good morning from a chilly, cloudy Torbay. Yesterday was beautifully sunny but the North wind kept the temperatures down.

Following a walk to the hair salon and back then some fizz ?with my friend in the flat above in the evening, I have slept much more soundly than usual!

Your poor DH, grandMattie, but a diagnosis should be a start on the road to him feeling better. Lent is a difficult subject for children but perhaps you could start with the history of Shrove Tuesday because they will be familiar with pancakes, if not the reason for them. Here’s a link, which might help:-

It was good to share in the joy of the wedding, Marydoll and I hope those who suffered misfortunes later in the day are fully recovered. Lovely photos!

Every blessing today. ?????

grandMattie Sun 06-Mar-22 06:50:56

Thank you, Ash, that’s very helpful. X

Good Morning from damp Severnside. The sky looks grey.

I got some weeding done yesterday and a few other jobs. I came indoors and had something to eat, laughed at WILTY for a while and nodded off for a few hours then had an early night. Beechnutella is coming today to give me a hand in the garden.

Lovely photo’s Marydoll you all look smart on a happy sunny day.
Have a good day all ???

cornergran Sun 06-Mar-22 06:54:38

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp looking corner of Somerset.

Spent a muddy morning in the garden yesterday then had two nice surprises. A flying visit from Littlest and his minders and a message from our friends asking if they could still come as health issues seem to have settled. Of course they can.

It’s over two years since we’ve hosted other than family Now, can I remember how to do it? Preparatory cleaning for us today, admin catch up for me and a shopping list for tomorrow should ensure we all survive grin.

Pleased there is clarity about your husbands pain grandmattie. Hope there can be relief now. Mr C recommends wireless headphones Mick, easier to move around.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Gagagran Sun 06-Mar-22 07:05:48

Good Morning everyone from a 3c south coast. Dawn was a rosy pink sky and now we have a lovely pale blue sky with soft silvery clouds. Really hoping for some sunshine today after days of greyness and a thick cloud layer.

Things sound a bit better chez-vous Mattie which is good to hear. There may be a plan of action when your DH sees the consultant so onwards and upwards! I think many adult struggle with the meaning and concept of Lent in these days of me-me-me now-now-now so good luck explaining it to little ones!

I thought I was seeing Ascot Ladies day on the pics yesterday but No! It was Marydoll's DS's wedding day!. Glorious hat and glamorous guests and I always love a man in a kilt! What a little sweetheart Dollie is too. So good to share in the joy filled day, (hiccups and all!) Thankyou.

Looking forward to seeing DD and DGD for brunch tomorrow as it's DD's 49th birthday and DGD has come home from university for a long weekend. Today will mean doing the chores we usually do on Mondays.

Have the best day you can everyone and please keep up the prayers for Ukraine, those who believe in their power. sunshine

brook2704 Sun 06-Mar-22 07:25:15

Good morning everyone from Cambridge where it’s still grey and cloudy, no sign of the sun coming out yet!
This morning our youngest DGS has football practice and we’re going to a nearby garden centre for a mooch around. Then a lovely Sunday lunch planned for us all later.
Hoping everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?

baubles Sun 06-Mar-22 07:36:13

Good morning Mick, morning all from bright and cold South Lanarkshire.

Glad you know the cause of your DH’s problem now Mattie, I hope the consultant can give him some relief from the pain.

We had our eldest GC staying over last night, DH brought her with him when he collected me from work. We had a lovely, chatty evening but she needs to be home by ten to go to her usual Sunday sport club. I’ll go to Mass and probably go shopping for her upcoming birthday, now that I’ve picked up some ideas from her.

Thanks for sharing your photos and wedding tales Marydoll, you looked fabulous.

Have a peaceful Sunday everyone.

Gwenisgreat1 Sun 06-Mar-22 07:37:41

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate
Loved your wedding pictures marydoll, lovely picture of Dollie and your DH too.
Will probably go to church today, last week I was horrified at how full the church was with no one wearing masks. It was a service combined with another church. Today will be just our church.
Yesterday I did a lot of nothing (could get used to it). A friend did pop round for a cuppa which was nice for a catch up before she goes to Cornwall today.
Thanks for the explanation about lent Ashcombe I had forgotten what was behind it.
GrandMattie armed with new knowledge, I hope your DH is soon free of pain

Have the best day possible folks

Pittcity Sun 06-Mar-22 07:40:07

Good morning from a cold, overcast Colchester.
I've just emerged from the spare room to find DH in his armchair watching TV. He seems to have a bad cold which is proved by the number of tissues he's got through. He did a confirmatory PCR yesterday which I went to post and had a long walk through the park. I am still negative and feeling well but bored. I may have another walk today and buy more tissues.
We have roast beef to eat as he hasn't lost his appetite or senses.
Love to all ? x

kittylester Sun 06-Mar-22 07:40:17

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is very cold - both inside and out.

I had a great time at the pantomime yesterday with Persie who was in her element joining in with everything. Our village is very far from being Ambridge fanny but has a fantastic community spirit and there is always something going on.

We left the panto to discover that Persie's cousin (dgd1) was at a&e with a gash on the back of her head caused by the lounge radiator!!

Today, we may go shopping - shops are warm!!

Hoping topsy has good news of her ggs.

Lovely photos Marydoll.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Urmstongran Sun 06-Mar-22 07:42:34

No Matt. He must be on leave. I will ? out for him but it won’t be on a Monday (tomorrow) anyway of course.

Good morning everyone from Malaga where we have sunshine ? today and no wind. No plans. Himself will be watching football ⚽️ late afternoon as it’s the Manchester derby! I’m not sure if I’m starting with cystitis. I hope not. I’ll know later ...

I’m sharing a photo of our resident ducks - the big pool will be theirs until Cesar the gardener drains it next month, cleans it and humans start swimming in it! Honestly they are so cute. A lady on the ground floor feeds them every day. They stand on the terrace with their little orange feet looking up hopefully, quacking occasionally if she’s a bit late with their dinner! They are too cute.

Your husband now has a diagnosis and a very prompt appointment with a consultant grandMattie so I hope he gets sorted soon and starts to feel much better. I bet he fell on that first plate of food!

I hope your seeds germinate Kim19 I’m not sure how far south you are but ‘oop north’ in Manchester I’d never dare try this early in the year. Early May was soon enough! Bet your gaff was quiet last night GG13 I hope you got all the Lego tidied away!

Enjoy Sunday all who can. x

ShazzaKanazza Sun 06-Mar-22 07:43:53

Good morning Mick and everyone from a lovely bright Hull. Mick I never saw WSS in the cinema as I was worried I’d embarrass myself crying so much as I did with the original. It’s always been my fave musical. Always said I want ‘There’s a Place for us’ at my funeral. God don’t I sound depressing lol.
We have friends here who stayed from last night so DH will cook a full English and then they’ll go and later DD, SIL and DGD are coming for a lamb dinner so that will be my job. When everyone has gone home it’ll be lock the door and put feet up. But a houseful is always the best.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone and hope today brings moments of joy. ?

NannyJan53 Sun 06-Mar-22 07:47:37

Good morning from a cloudy but dry Black Country.

Went out for a Curry last night. Took quite a while of walking up and down the High Street to find somewhere with a free table! Note to self, must book in future.

Today we are having a family gathering at my Brothers in Redditch, to welcome my Niece back to the UK from Brisbane. We have not been all together since May 2019 when she left for Australia.

At least you have now found out your DH's problem now grandMattie hopefully now something can be done to ease his symptoms

Lovely wedding photo's Marydoll it looked a lovely occasion.

Wishing you all a pleasant Sunday

Grammaretto Sun 06-Mar-22 07:51:59

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. Sun is streaming in.

I am at a conference all weekend on-line (my church) I coped yesterday but I fear my mind will wander today. I shall go for a brisk walk beforehand.

Like you and your seeds Kim I was a bit "previous" and decided to move my potted rose outside. The rose will be fine but I don't think pots survive frost.

I hope the MoG has survived Marydoll
Thanks again for sharing some of your joyful day with us all.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 06-Mar-22 07:56:43

Morning Mick and all

There is a hazy sun in the sky here in S E Essex, such a nice change from grey and rain.

I have some sorting out to do today, and then it’s roast beef for two. It is so very quiet with just DH and myself rattling round this big old house, I miss DD and the little ones, but know that they need to be in their own home. (7 months and 10 days of Lego, Peppa Pig, kids u-tube etc)

Eldest AC and wife also went home yesterday lunchtime, it was good to have them here for a few days.

Lovely photos Marydoll pleased the day went well.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Urmstongran Sun 06-Mar-22 08:01:47

Hope your husband finds Covid has mild symptoms Pittcity. I know of 4 people with it at present - none of whom are poorly, just ‘full of a cold’ or a hacking cough but no loss of taste/smell and eating/sleeping well. x

Grandmabatty Sun 06-Mar-22 08:15:08

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 0° with blue skies and frost. A rerun of yesterday. It is very nice to have blue instead of grey for a change.
Grandmattie it's good that you have a reason for your dh's trouble. Urms lots of cranberry juice might help. I suffered with cystitis a lot when younger. It's awful. You have my sympathies. I haven't seen the remake of West Side Story yet. It's one of my favourite musicals. I acted in it as a teenager as part of a local theatre group and it was joyous.
Yesterday was housework and babysitting. I had a lovely time with dgs1. We were in the garden for a while before we had lunch and then it was full on dinosaurs. The boy loves them. Today I intend to potter about the house and garden. I'm making a large pot of bolognaise in the slow cooker so that'll do for dinner. Have a good day all.

Gingster Sun 06-Mar-22 08:20:50

Good morning all and as GG says - it’s a hazy sort of sun this morning. Better than grey and dreary!

Today we are going to have coffee with my eldest brother and his wife. They are good company and very chatty. We’ll come back for our Sunday roast late afternoon and then pop to DS1 to see his new car.

I had a phone call from eldest gd last evening . She was chatty and more upbeat than lately. She fainted at Uni last week and broke her front tooth and has bruises on her face , arm and leg. She fell on to a radiator ?. Poor girl! Anyway she’s had her tooth fixed and her friends took her out to the local pancake house, so she sounded ‘OK’. ?.

A lovely wedding, Marydoll. Nice to see the pics. ??‍♀️.

Hoping you all have a pleasant day . ?

Good morning, it is very foggy just now , but the sun is doing it’s best to get through !
Got Mass online yesterday evening , very thought provoking about Lent
