Georgesgran -wine and birdwatching - good decision ?
What do you find yourself avoiding more as you get older?
What did you never own up to ?
It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but dry outside this morning.
Yesterday , did the route to Bicester via Buckingham and met friends ,also when I got home I had received my pre ordered DVD copy of Steven Spielberg's version Of West Side Story, this is on DVD release as of tomorrow .
But I sat and watched it , I think either headphones with a good lead would be the answer, having watched the film a few months back not the same.
Today will be quiet with Cycling on TV this afternoon.
Take Care,
Mick
Georgesgran -wine and birdwatching - good decision ?
?Harri - one thing after another? Hope SIL is soon on the mend. X
Thanks for the advice Dollie.
I’ve given up! Got 2 round to the raised patio on a sack barrow, but couldn’t lift them into position!! Retired to the conservatory with a glass of wine to watch the birds!!
Hopefully, my garden chap will re-site the pots when he starts his regular visits soon.
Very late but had to express my joy at hearing about the wedding and seeing the photos from Marydoll. Stunning outfit Md and MrMd looks lovely and so happy with you and Dollie.
Sorry to hear about your SIL Harrigran - hope there will be better news soon.
Good to hear that MrGm has an explanation for his pain and hope something can be done to help him very soon.
BlueSapphire glad you enjoyed WWS and the full cinema experience with your wine & popcorn ? Grandmadinosaur also.
Ekwa my back hurts from reading your post - hope everything you’ve planted repays your hard work.
Georgesgran do not move these pots on your own - some friend or neighbour will be glad to help. I was crippled with back pain and muscle spasms for 3 weeks recently, because I thought I could just ‘roll’ the pots without actually lifting them.
Enough at this late hour - I have a library book to read before I have to give it back for the next person on the waiting list (Osebol: Voices from a Swedish Village - very good).
Oh no harrigran let’s hope for good news ?
Marydoll Thank you so much for taking us all along on your journeys, especially the wedding. Your outfit is perfect and your husband looks so smart. The show stealer is the little one though - she is so beautiful. So glad that everything came together at last.

Good afternoon from a blue skied north of Scotland.
At last GN has let me in.
Fisrt of all ?for you harrigran. Will be thinking of your SIL.
What happiness your family wedding has brought to this thread Marydoll. Wishing the happy couple much joy.
Such lovely photos of you all beautifully turned out, however as the song says “the most important thing to wear is a smile”. You are all doing that.
I am going to pick up some bits at the garden centre and think about spring.
TOYA
Good afternoon from a dark and dismal East Midlands.
Just popping in to send my very best wishes to Harri and family and praying for quick results and treatment.. ?
Harrigran just seen that your SiL is in hospital too. I hope that is sorted out promptly and good health restored.
Good morning from the small corner that I can see of what looks a sunny Algarve. I’m very tempted to nag DH about doing some washing as it’s supposed to be the best day of the forthcoming week today. I say nag because I have gently suggested a couple of times already!
Very pleased to read that grandMattie’s DH has a diagnosis, hopefully he will be feeling much better soon. Good to see that Fanny’s DH seems to be recovering as well.
Thankyou Marydoll for all those lovely photographs. My granddaughter was chief bridesmaid at her best friend’s wedding down south yesterday and as I’m looking forward to hearing about and seeing photographs of that, your family’s one made me excited all over again. I love your outfit and your clever colour combining as well, fantastic. As for wee Dollie, I too originally imagined her with shorter, more auburn hair but she is just perfect as she is, very pretty and very proud of her loving grandparents. I hope she is fine this morning.
Marydoll glad wedding when well despite a few mishaps ? Harrigranhope your sil is soon sorted and home. Have a good day all ?
Good Morning from N., Cambs., It's now bright & sunny, (hope it's the same 30 miles south, in Cambridge for you*brook*)!What a small world, brook, our 2 youngest DGD's (nearly 5 & nearly 8), have swimming on a Saturday morning!!
It's the Cambridge half-marathon today, our DD & family are amongst the closed off roads, &, as it's her MiL's 70th birthday lunch at a local (pub?), they are hosting before & after refreshments at their home.
Lovely, heartwarming photos, Marydoll, thank you for sharing.
Warm wishes to you all.
Good morning Mick and everybody. Another cold bright day in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 4°C.
Glad your DH is getting some answers GrandMattie, hope there is treatment available to help.
Thank you for the photos Marydoll, enjoy your visit with Dollie today. Your outfit looks a million dollars, style doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
Not much planned for today.
Wishing you all the best possible day. May all those with worries find some comfort and all who are under the weather find some relief. ?
Good morning, another late one I'm afraid, from Northampton; dry at the momemt, but rain is forecast later.
A worrying text yesterday morning from a neighbour to say she had just texted positive, so I tested myself without delay, as I had been at her house for coffee on Tuesday, along with other friends. Thankfully my test was negative, so was still able to have my cinema outing in the afternoon.
An enjoyable afternoon at the cinema yesterday watching "The Duke"; it actually made me laugh out loud in some places. And I enjoyed my large glass of rose, and a large bag of popcorn.
No plans for today, so I shall read the Sunday paper, do the puzzles, make a start on my new book, and perhaps knit.
A spatchcock poussin to have for dinner tonight, hoping there will be enough left for dinner tomorrow.
Thank you for the lovely photos Marydoll; thought you looked wonderful; as did everyone!
Wishes to all for a pleasant Sunday.
Good morning all from sunny South Yorkshire. So nice to see sunshine.
So pleased the wedding went well Marydoll it sounds fantastic and lovely photos.
Good news on the husband front Grandmattie. Hope they can get him sorted.
Today involves taking DGD1 to her swimming lesson then perhaps a bit of gardening in this lovely sun.
Have a good day all x
Good morning from a sunny NE.
Woken by phone pinging, SIL was taken to hospital last night, had CT scan and admitted. Message from DD who is upset as she just returned to Brussels on Tuesday and is now trying to get back to the UK.
My SIL looks after me, takes me to appointments and shopping and spends a couple of days a week helping in the house.
DS and family visited yesterday, they had been buying GD's prom dress. They showed me photos, she looked fabulous.
Need to do some washing today, as I don't know what the next few days will be like.
Have a good Sunday.
A very late good morning from a cold, windy S Hants, sun and clouds for now. I slept until gone 9 as a niggly gallbladder played up until about 2am.
I’m very pleased your DH has a diagnosis gMattie , hopefully appropriate treatment will follow.
My daughter just txt, she’s -ve this morning after seven days, another one early tomorrow and she can go back to work.
Is your greenhouse heated Chrissielou?
Need to tidy the garden, get the rubbish ready for the tip slot booked tomorrow.
Have a pleasant day all ??.
Good morning all from grey W Kent. Marydoll love the picture of the three of you and wow what a hat, my favourite colour. GMattie pleased your husband has an answer at last.
We are quite medical ourselves, various results being waited for.
Off to see DD2 and family later today for tea and cake, will be nice to catch up and see GC.
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny and frosty Carlisle. I'm hoping to go out for a walk later but first I must wait in for a delivery of some shelving for my utility room.
Yesterday I tidied up my fruit border and planted out some strawberries, white ones so I'm hoping the birds won't recognise them as strawberries. My big problem with this border is cats using it as their neighbourhood toilet. It's the only bit of the garden not covered in weed control fabric and mulch. Apart from the health hazards of having cats poop on my edibles, they are scattering young plants about.
I also had to dig a hole for a small plant elsewhere and the job developed into a workout as I hit solid clay some 4 inches down and had to wield my mattock and hack out a big hole to put decent soil in. It's just that one side of the garden fortunately.
A beautifully put together outfit Marydoll, a stunning hat! I love the fact that it looked like an expensive ensemble but wasn't. Your Dollie put a smile on my face, what a bright and happy little girl she looks.
That's good to know what's actually the problem with your DH's interior, grandMattie, hopefully his condition can be improved now.
Have the best possible day everyone.
Grey and chilly here in Oxfordshire just now. Lots of batch cooking to be done this morning and baking for DD1 and GC. Housework and dog walking will follow, with DH in charge of the chicken curry for tonight, he doesn't cook very often, but this is his speciality and its delicious! A welcome break for me.
We have lots of seeds coming up in the greenhouse, I love growing tomatoes especially, and the produce keeps us in sauce and soup for months.
Wishing everyone a joyful Sunday.
Good morning from Durham. A second day of bright, icy blue sky - although yesterday ended in rain.
Marydoll you, your DH and little Dollie look fabulous - thank you for sharing some pics.
A nothing day today - I must drop off my donations for Ukraine, then a bit of laundry and I’m going to try and move some heavy pots in the garden. I don’t like to ask for help, so let’s see how I go.
Thanks to those GNs who sent ? and kind thoughts - very much appreciated. TBH, anticipation of the day, was worse than the day itself, if you know what I mean.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
Morning all.
It’s a lovely bright start to the day here in South Yorkshire, but very cold.
A lovely photo of you, your DH and GD, Marydoll. I’ve missed the last few days, but so pleased that everything went well, despite a few little mishaps ?. (A canny bit of shopping there, too - well done ?. You look lovely).
I, too, am pleased your DH has his diagnosis, GM, and that things can be done to help him now.
Well, take care everyone. Those of you on holiday, have a great time, and those of you not so well, I hope today you feel a little better.
Whatever your plans, have a good day.
Morning from sunny S Lanarkshire, I’ve just checked the posts that came after mine yesterday and want to say how nice your photos are Marydoll. Your hat is amazing and your DH has such a nice smiling face! Dollie is lovely too, a picture to treasure.
A good afternoon with my friend yesterday and then a very enjoyable visit to the farm to give DGD2 her birthday gift for Monday. She is a funny girl and I do enjoy her company.
Mass later and then a fairly busy day doing things I enjoy!
Wishing everyone a good Sunday and praying for some kind of resolution for the poor Ukrainian people ???
