Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight ,and a clear sky with signs of rain on the ground here in brackley .
Today , I will hopefully go via Buckingham to Bicester and return direct to watch cycling on TV this afternoon .
I had a fish & chip takeaway yesterday lunch, and the price as leaped by 40p seems to average 20p every 2 weeks increase.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from a very sunny Malaga. About time too. Yesterday was chilly and then it chucked it down from around 4pm. Snap! dustyangel. We didn’t go anywhere. I bought a new novel on my Kindle ‘Radium Girls’ which a book club member recommended to me last time we met and I’m hooked already.

grandMattie you were my very first thought on waking.
Maw your poor Rosie dog that looks a nasty wound.

Well we will go out today for a wander. I think a stroll into Torremolinos might be a good idea as it takes us over an hour. We could get the Renfe train back - it’s only 2 stops!

Enjoy Saturday all who can. x

Good morning, all, from Torbay where the sun is shining but not certain it will last all day.

We are late waking, having been late to bed following a convivial evening at the theatre bar. A fast moving, suitably silly, farce was on stage, much appreciated by the audience.

It sounds like you are having excellent support from the hospice, grandMattie, and, your appreciation of that shines through, despite the sadness you carry in your heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

We are attending the monthly coffee morning at church today, partly because we enjoy supporting it but also because my priest will happily authorise DH's existence for his pension provider!

I hope the weekend brings happiness to you all. ??????

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy but it looks much less windy
Such a sad situation but pleased you and your DH are getting some help and support GM
Today I’m taking DGD to her dance class whilst DGS plays a round of crazy golf with grandad. We’ll then meet up with DD2 for lunch in town somewhere.
Poor Rosie Maw I hope she fully recovers soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow.

GM, that was indeed a busy day yesterday. I'm pleased to hear how much support, you are receiving and how quickly. The DNAR situation is something which I found very difficult to deal with, I was quite shocked, when my consultant broached it with me at the beginning of the pandemic. Even more difficult to broach it with MrMD. It causes so many emotions to run riot in your brain.
I hope the new medication, will improve your husband's pain relief and make the pain more bearable.

Much to our delight, our wee Dollie is coming for her first sleepover, since I started shielding two years ago. She packed her bags yesterday on arriving home from school and has issued a forward plan of activities!.
Her mum isn't too well just now, so we are trying to support her as best we can. We are quite concerned about her.
I'm struggling a wee bit at the moment, so Dollie is just the tonic I need!

Maw, I hope poor Rosie improves quickly, what a shock for you to come home to.

Have the best day you can and keeping the prayers going for all who need them.

Urmstongran Sat 12-Mar-22 07:54:40

X posts LauraN please accept my sincere condolences. ? On your recommendation I shall phone my baby sis later.

A very sad day yesterday, for you Laura, my sincere condolences. ?

Gingster Sat 12-Mar-22 08:03:07

Good morning all and it’s a lovely start to the day.
Little gd slept with me last night and we were warm and cosy snuggled up together. I kept thinking if the poor refugees who are homeless ! ?

Breakfast soon and then ballet class and singing group. We’ll then scoop her mum up and bring her back for lunch. I hope she’s feeling ok after her infusion last evening. Her appointment was at 4 o’clock and she didn’t have the procedure until 6.30, so a lot of hanging about in a not very nice environment.

Maw - poor Rosie. She will be wary of other dogs now, as is my little pooch. She’s been leapt upon by others and avoids them if she can. ?. Never been bitten though! Hope her wounds heal quickly.

LauraNorder - a sad day for you yesterday. ?

GG - hope you get to love your tv. I hate new things! ?

Gentle days for you all ! ???

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dull dry Hull.
Had lovely baby snuggles yesterday for a full two hours while mummy slept. Divine.

grandMattie it sounds like you have a lot of support for yourself and DH. When my stepfather was going through the same the McMillan nurses took all the worry off my mums shoulders. You are both in our thoughts.

LauraNorderr so very sorry you’ve lost your lovely little sister. I have 3 younger sisters I would be devastated if anything happened to them I need to appreciate them more. A big bunch of ? for you.

Grandmadinosaur take care today and have a quieter day. Worrying how you felt last night.

Today we are going into town to buy DD a gift from us for having the baby. I think a LUSH Shop is in order buying all her favourites. Also need to buy DH a birthday gift it was his birthday on the first and he didn’t know what he’d like but he’s thinking now a smart jacket. Tonight we are in Driffield visiting friends for a drink and a takeaway. I’ve got the driving job so no wine for me.
Take care everyone and hope Saturday brings moments of joy?

Gingster I hope your daughter got through the treatment without too much discomfort. Life isn't fair.
GrandMattie you have had so much to cope with for so long. flowers to you too.
Poor Rosie ! Love to her. Good that she's home.

Nannagarra Sat 12-Mar-22 08:30:18

grandMattie ?
Laura ?
A gentle, comforting stroke for Rosie. ?

Stilllearning Sat 12-Mar-22 08:36:41

Morning from damp S Lanarkshire, just a quick message for LauraNorderr, I was actually thinking about you as I opened up my iPad having noticed you hadn’t been around for a while.
My condolences on the sad loss of your sister, what a lovely tribute.??

Wishing everyone a good day ???

baubles Sat 12-Mar-22 08:46:55

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s damp and dreary again.

Good to hear you are getting support Mattie.

Poor Rosie, what a nasty looking injury.

My condolences LauraNorder.

Your wee Dollie will pick you up Marydoll, have fun. I’ll pray for your DiL as you did for mine.

Yesterday at tea time we went to DD’s to wish my eldest GC a happy birthday. She’s a lovely, loving girl and at twelve is almost as tall as I am. ( I realise that means nothing to people who don’t know me grin).

No plans today, I just have to finish our itinerary for our upcoming visit to Rome. As entry to all the galleries and museums have to be booked in advance I’m having to be extra organised.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

Oopsadaisy1 Sat 12-Mar-22 08:53:27

Good morning from a sunny but breezy Oxfordshire, nice to see the sun after a very wet day yesterday.
A lovely tribute to your sister Lauranorder my condolences to you.
Granmattie it’s good to hear that the NHS are on the ball with your husbands welfare, you are in my thoughts.
maw poor hattie, lots of cuddles will be required and given freely I’m sure.
ginster still thinking of you and your daughter.
Well it isn’t often I get a 10 out of 10 for a test result, but my Covid Test this morning was a breeze and I passed first time! The first ‘positive’ result from a test, sadly it isn’t a good thing.? although a retake will be necessary at some stage.
Thank goodness I made a bucket of soup yesterday, now we can prop each other up whilst it’s in the microwave because neither of us feels bothered to cook, although MrOops had cold baked beans on toast yesterday evening, yuk yuk yuk.
Let’s hope I’m not so ill that I have to resort to eating that as well.
Have a good day everyone.
? for those who have sadness and worries and a hug for those who aren’t so chipper today.

Grandmabatty Sat 12-Mar-22 08:54:15

Good morning all from Polmont. 8° and grey skies outside. It's been raining and looks like it will again.
Laura my condolences. Grandmattie I'm glad you and your husband are getting support. Gingster I hope your daughter is okay today. She's having a hard time.
Yesterday I drew a dimetredon (dinosaur) for dgs1. I wasn't happy with it but I'll practise til I get it fixed. Apparently dd showed him it on her phone and he loved it. I drew a boat too and wasn't happy with that either.
Today is housework day. I have a sore throat and a cough so I'll do a test just in case, but I have no plans to go anywhere. Have a good day all.

hulahoop Sat 12-Mar-22 08:58:50

Lauranorder ?? it's hard to lose a sister I have lost 3
they were all older than me .
GM glad you are getting a lot of support .
Shazza lucky you I love nursing babies they are very relaxing and smell lovely . We are having gc overnight so taking it easy today .

Pittcity Sat 12-Mar-22 09:00:10

Good morning from a cloudy Colchester.
DH and I still have cold symptoms and are testing positive. I saw my littlest sister last week and she has Covid too...don't know if we shared it or its a coincidence. I know of lots of people who've avoided infection for 2 years who have succumbed now that masks, testing etc has been dropped.
DH is attending the course he was due to do this morning via Zoom, so he is happier. I will potter and have seedlings that need planting out.

Sending much love to LauraN and GM and all of you ?x

Mapleleaf Sat 12-Mar-22 09:16:27

Good morning,

It’s starting to dry up again here after a damp afternoon yesterday and then throughout the night.

I had a lovely catch-up yesterday with my friends. So nice to see them again and chat about all that we had been up to since we last met.

That must have been upsetting for you and Rosie, Maw. I hope she soon recovers.

A sad day yesterday for you, LauraNorder. Our sisters are precious, aren’t they?

I hope your daughter is feeling alright today, too, after her infusion yesterday Gingster.

? GM

So sorry about Rosie such a horrible thing to happen.

We share so many experiences and childhood memories with sisters, LauraNorder flowers

EkwaNimitee Sat 12-Mar-22 09:59:52

Good morning Mick and everyone from a sunny Carlisle where showers threaten.
Nothing energetic on today, I'm still lightheaded from my venesection on Thursday, it knocks me back for around 3 days usually. It's a bit frustrating when I am wanting to work in the garden. I visited Sainsbury's service station on the way home and found it closed...no diesel, but they weren't selling petrol either. I didn't think the fuel supply problem had started up again. I got petrol elsewhere on the way home, no problems there. I like to keep well stocked up in all departments in these uncertain days.
My deepest sympathies to you LauraNorderr, that's left a big hole in your life, losing a loved sister. I keep in touch with my younger sister regularly now. We didn't at one time but there are not many of us left in our family, she and I are now the head of it and next to go in theory! We have a long chat every Saturday morning. It's more difficult with our younger brother, he's just not a conversationalist on the phone or in the flesh.

Thinking of you and your DH often grandMattie and hoping he is soon made more comfortable.

Have the best possible weekend everyone.

harrigran Sat 12-Mar-22 10:18:27

Good morning from a cloudy NE.
Good you have hospice care in place grandMattie, accept all the help on offer. We got none for DH.
My condolences to you Laura, I speak to my little sister, who did the same to DH and I as a courting couple, nearly every day. She will be visiting this afternoon to have a drink with me.
Thoughts are with all the poorly people.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 12-Mar-22 10:21:19

Morning all. West Oxfordshire looks sunny and bright. The sky is blue and there is the lightest wind. I am meeting an old friend today for lunch. We used to be good friends, meeting for regular lunch, theatre trips etc. I stayed with her a few times when her late husband was very ill. For various reasons we didn’t meet for three years. Then we did and it’s obviously not the same friendship, so basically we have a catch-up maybe a couple of times a year. I will probably spend the rest of the day knitting or perhaps making a cake!
