Ashcombe Mon 14-Mar-22 06:20:29

Good morning, Mick and everyone else, from a fine but chilly Torbay.

Last night, I received a notification via the NHS App about being near someone with Covid on Saturday night. It’s the first time I’ve ever had one of those. I’d already heard that one of the cast of the play tested positive yesterday. We were both in the bar but not in close proximity. My LFT was negative.

A Lidl shop and my exercise class are on the plan for today. I hope it’s a good day for you all. ??????

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. Foggy or misty here this morning.

I’d like to go out and get a few errands and purchases done today. I’ve made a list.
I had a nice chat with my friend yesterday. She has had an offer on her house and fingers crossed for no hiccups.

Take care all ?

Good morning everyone from a clear Northampton, 3° outside at the moment, and sunny spells forecast.

An excellent day yesterday, at rugby with both my DC, and we had a win! Must wear my new away strip again! A nail-biting finish though, which doesn't do my blood pressure any good. Came home with a flag in Saints colours, which I may put in the garden.

Up early this morning as need to be out for yoga by 8.45; may go for coffee afterwards. Nothing really planned for the rest of the day; a bit of pottering, then reading/knitting.

Hope you escape Covid Ash.

Hope Monday is kind to all.

Good morning from a bright E Kent.
Rubbish day, ditto night, so I shan’t linger.
Hope you all have a good day. Carpe diem. ?????

Good morning from Palma.

Off for breakfast soon then get a taxi for our flight home. It departs at 12.40 and will get there in plenty of time as delays are the norm now due to the extra checks. We’ve had a great time and I will be online tonight looking for another break away.

Will hit the ground running once home. Will do a quick Aldi shop. Dh needs to ring the plumber as shower was on the blink the morning we left and after tea will pop over and see the family. Can’t wait to see them.

Take care everyone.

Morning all! Bit late this morning as I got up at 5 then decided it was too early so went back to bed to meditate and before I knew it it was 6.15am.

Cold and clear this morning here on the south coast. 1.8c on my weather station. It does vary quite a bit at this time of year but I love the clear spring light. In fact I like all the seasons for different reasons but spring is my favourite.

Safe journey home Grandmadinosaur - hope everything goes to plan!

Oh dear Ash - one of the hazards of having a social life these days is the chance of meeting up with the virus. We can't live like hermits though so having had three jabs (so far) I think we need to get on with it. I was a bit nonplussed at WI last week though, when one member seized me and plonked a kiss on my cheek before I could dodge her! Not keen on close contact greetings now.

Sorry you have had a difficult day and night Mattie. Fingers crossed for a better day today. flowers

Heard yesterday that my youngest brother's girlfriend has escaped Kiev and is now in Lviv. Apparently he is paying for accommodation there for her. It is a strange relationship but seems to make him happy. Well it did until the invasion.

Nothing much planned for today apart from some admin.

Take care everyone and have the best day you can. sunshine

MawtheMerrier Mon 14-Mar-22 07:06:33

Good morning everybody from sunny N Bucks. It just lifts my spirits to see blue sky and helps me cope with the worries about the “bigger picture”
Thank you for all my birthday wishes yesterday, it turned out to be a lovely undemanding day - FaceTimes with the children and grandchildren, a quick self indulgent trip to Waitrose for some goodies and a lovely extended visit from a dear friend all afternoon. A book club friend for over 20 years, we can talk for England, but it is always stimulating and somehow we always seem to be on the same wavelength. Rosie slept contentedly all afternoon and is healing nicely.
Thinking of all of you with worries or health issues and extra flowers flowers to you Grandmattie and Gingster I hope you have good friends around you who can help to support you as you take the latest big knock. You are strong, but it doesn’t always help to be told that when you are working flat out to hold things together.
Ashcombe bring “pinged” is a pain, and I hope it leads to nothing for you. Covid is clearly not done with us yet, but ??for you.
Keep safe!

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where the sun is struggling to shine through a watery looking sky.

Mattie flowers

Working today so we’ll see what the day brings. Afterwards I’m meeting a friend for a bite to eat, haven’t seen her in an age so I’m looking forward to catching up with her.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy Glasgow.

GM, I hope things are more settled chez GM today and the Mr &Mrs Pittcity and anyone else with Covid is recovering.
The DDs & DILs still remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I have a busy day ahead, I seem to have gone from Billy no mates to the other extreme.
After an exhausting, but delightful weekend with Dollie, who refused to go home, saying that she had decided to stay for another couple nights, ? (forget about school!), I had decided to have a quiet day, while the golfer was out today.
It is not to be.

However, I need to go to church, to ask a co- signatory to sign a cheque, renew someone's PVG and I have been invited out by two different friends. The first invitation was to lunch, the second an offer from the Ebay queen to visit a newly opened charity shop, selling designer clothes!
There don't seem to be enough hours in the day at the moment, nor do I have the stamina required, to do everything I want to do.
For two years, I have complained about seeing no-one, now I'm complaining about being too busy! #perverseofGlasgow!

I have yet another task for today. DS1 has asked me to look for old school photos for a career talk he is giving to various classes in Dollie's school. He went to the same school, so he thought he could include the photos in his presentation. Dollie absolutely no idea he is coming to talk to her class about his job and he can't wait to see her reaction!

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans.

Grammaretto Mon 14-Mar-22 07:28:09

Good Morning from a sunny part of the Scottish Borders. Blue sky and birdsong does lift the spirits as Maw so rightly says.
gMattie thinking of you. flowers

DMiL enjoyed her birthday party yesterday. 4 of my DGC sang and danced their party pieces for her and to all our delight she sang several verses of The Laird o' Cockpen word perfect. At 97 she is more than doing well.

Lodgers move into my wee granny flat today so I shall have to move out. I am not looking forward to it really but needs must.

You have been so busy recently Marydoll I only hope you will have energy breath left for the meetup tomorrow.
.Thinking of all with troubles and also those in Ukraine and wars everywhere.

Stilllearning Mon 14-Mar-22 07:53:35

Another good morning from S Lanarkshire, lovely blue sky where I am.

I had a nice pre birthday weekend with some of the family and today is getting organised for post school childminding.

Grammaretto, your family sounds so talented, what pleasure for you all.

?grandMattie and all who are struggling.

My eldest DGD has joined the Covid warriors, very unfortunately now going to miss a week off school not long before sitting her Advanced Highers which she really needs to be accepted into the course she wants. Another family who have been so careful for two years. She isn’t too bad but very tired and unable to concentrate.
Sod’s law but we know that in the context of Ukraine it has to be kept in proportion.

Have the best day possible everyone ???

Pittcity Mon 14-Mar-22 07:55:51

Good morning from a sunny but cold Colchester. DH has done his 10 days with Covid and I am on day 7. We'll do tests later and plan accordingly.
Love to all ? x

Gingster Mon 14-Mar-22 07:56:03

Good morning all and it’s a lovely morning ☀️ here in Essex.

The twins meet up with their dad went well. They had lunch and then on to watch Batman in 4D. (He’s pushing the boat out) ?. Unfortunately on the way home , one twin fainted. He said it was the 4D experience at the cinema. Swaying and moving chairs, and other things happening all around them. Hot in the car etc. Oh dear! Anyway dad coped well and brought them home to sleep it off.
They told their mum ‘he was well alright!. We’ll see! ?.

Not much on today so will have a walk in the sunshine .

Thanks for your ongoing messages of support and your prayers for DD.?❤️

Grandmajean Mon 14-Mar-22 07:56:24

Good morning from Cheshire.
Lovely Spring sunshine here. Hope it continues.
DIL has Covid but isn't too bad. She has had a "cold" for days but negative tests until yesterday. Find it hard to believe not Covid all along. Maybe this strain takes longer to show up positive.
Hope the day brings some ? to all with worries.

monk08 Mon 14-Mar-22 08:04:54
