Air conditioning unit

It is 1000 watts ie will use 1kw in 1 hour. I unit, every hour that it is on. Expensive to run. A fan is cheaper to buy and use, put a wet t towel on a rack in front of it, the air will cool

It needs to be reasonably big if you want it to be any good, and it will need an outlet eg. via a window. I bought mine in Feb last year and it transformed my summer. I have this one, paid £280:

I laughed at your comment on rubbish summer Wizend, honestly i hope we don't have a rubbish summer......BUT last year was unbearable for me ( menopause). I used yo LOVE LOVE LOVE the hot summers, I used to do allll my housework ASAP so i could bask in the heat whoaaaaaa NO MORE !!

We bought an air cooler from ProBreeze, cheaper than air con, no venting required and does the job.

You do realise that if you buy one well in advance, you’ll be guaranteeing a rubbish summer?

Personally I’d have a good look on the likes of Amazon and Robert Dyas , etc. - look at the dimensions and read all the reviews.

A really good (non noisy) fan could be an alternative. They were provided at a BiL’s place in France, where it does sometimes get very hot in summer. Made a huge difference in our otherwise boiler-house of a room.
