Beautiful memorial service for Prince Philip

Just that really.
I thought the Queen looked amazing, considering the time she's had. She looked so dignified as well.
I sort of agree with PA helping her in. After all, he is her son and it's a memorial service for his father.
Also it's a way of showing certain absent members that 'this is what loyalty' in a family looks like.

The children were beautifully behaved and doesn't Princess Charlotte have a look of the Queen about her?shock

It does seem a bit sad that Harry wasnt there.
If this was any ordinary family I suppose we would be saying he has gone No Contact with Prince Charles and that he and the Queen are estrangedparents/grandparents!
Seems a bit cruel to do that to an old lady, in what could be one of her last public engagements.
But that is my opinion.
I'm sure the PH fanclub will be along in a minute to disagree. hmm

Other than that, it was a lovely service.

Aye, of course.

Jezebel. Liar. Stole our lovely Prince.

Pantglas2 Sat 02-Apr-22 16:00:43

The middle one, actually - the bit where her passport was taken and she couldn’t leave the country but managed a baby shower in states...

Pantglas2 Sat 02-Apr-22 16:04:05

Oh and I forgot the we were married first in the garden by the Archbishop....methinks there are more, aye!

Oh OK. Fair enough.

Burn the witch.

Double standards? Which double standards prevents anyone on even on GN feeling sympathy for Beatrice? Regardless of how they may feel about other members if the RF, or politicians or posters on GN?

Gilly3 Sat 02-Apr-22 16:14:38

It's not a competition which young lady was the more emotional for whatever reason. It is the poster's distasteful comment which assumed that Beatrice was crying because she had just found out that not only was her father involved in sex trafficking, but now her parents have been involved in a fraud. That comment is just as bad as all the daft assumptions over the M & H stuff.

The double standards are that some people spend inordinate amounts of time criticising Meghan in the worst possible terms, because she deserves it so we can say anything about her. But say anything that is deemed disrespectful of Beatrice, and they're on you like a ton of bricks.

Well, maybe some people dislike the York girls

They’re not brilliant role models are they?

Jaberwok Sat 02-Apr-22 16:49:12

In what respect are Beatrice and Eugenie not good role models and to whom? I can't think of anything that either of them have done to deserve that criticism. They always appear to be perfectly pleasant young women, but perhaps I've missed something.

Call me suspicious but I do wonder how Beatrice's first paid employment was as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for a multinational data and software company at the tender age of 29, what with her having a 2:1 in History and all.

She's a role model to us all. Get born into the right family and the world's your oyster.

They seem perfectly nice young women to me too, although I only now from what I have seen/heard and don't know them personally.
Quite surprising really.

I think it happens a lot in all walks of life. I remember hearing well-known sons and daughters of actors saying how difficult it is to break into showbusiness when you have a famous parent grin
Not half as difficult as for Sam or Sally Bloggs from Nowhere Town.

Jaberwok Sat 02-Apr-22 17:32:16

29 isn't a particularly tender age and however 'right' your family is, no one will employ anybody who is completely hopeless . Sometimes, the 'right' family can be a handicap and not a blessing.

I agree that royals and other well known young people get offered jobs that are out of reach to most people. It’s the way of the world unfortunately. Nepotism is alive and well.

Vice President.

Of a Software Firm specialising in AI

With no experience in software. Or AI.

In other news, I just found out I'm only 3 connections away from her on Linked In. shock

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Apr-22 17:43:01

Six degrees of separation rule!

(I think I'm three degrees of separation from Meghan ?)

Gilly3 Sat 02-Apr-22 17:43:06

I think B & E are both good role models. One has spoken about her scoliosis and how she underwent back surgery to correct her spine. The other spoke out about her problems with dyslexia and how she struggled to finish her education. Both seem admirable enough in that respect.

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Apr-22 17:44:03

I think they've turned out remarkably well considering!

Mollygo Sat 02-Apr-22 17:46:46

Some people were born into the right family, have some where to live, food to eat and a device to post on social media.

And yet, the OP was largely about trashing the queen's grandson and poking fun at the people who take his part.

Take the plank from your own eye.

You're like a dog wirh a bone. You can't help yourself can you?
Is there ANY thread that you don't try and trash wirh your nastiness?

snowberryZ Sat 02-Apr-22 17:56:09

I like the York girls.

Is that what they call a delayed reaction?

It failed to quote.
(In response to Volvo saying she didnt)

Volvo?

Is that a new poster?

What's wrong with Beatrice? Leave her out of it.
What's she done to you?shock

Say what you like about the York girls.
No matter what certain members of their family may or may not have done, I doubt they'd ever go on Oprah blubbing about it, or even worse write a tacky book.

No.
Its just I've finally realised that you disrupt nearly every thread I've started.
Its taken me a while to wade through them all.
