DD reminded me today of one she played on me years ago.
She had just had oral surgery a few days beforehand and had a number of stitches in her mouth. The bits of loose thread were really annoying her and she threatened to cut them out, as she couldn't stand them any longer.
She came downstairs with blood (tomato ketchup) on her lips and pieces of black thread in her hand, saying she had pulled the stitches out.
I totally freaked out, asking whatever had possessed her to do so, saying we would need to go to hospital.
Despite having successfully played a number of April Fool jokes on my pupils that day, it never occurred to me that I would fall for one, myself!
If I hadn't felt under the weather today, I would have played one on DH or my children, as I do every year. In fact I hadn't realised that today was the first of April!
I loved playing them on my colleagues. They usually took the form of official letters from the LA education department or staff emails, directing them to do something ridiculous or utterly impossible.
