Photos of my mother as a young woman and my lovely Nana.

Charleyg The "Little Minx" aka Sweetie Pie (feral cat) has visited several times over the hols. Three dishes of best quality cat food dined upon with each sitting. After which, a good lick, a loll on the door mat and then...hey presto...back into the forest with a well-rounded tummy.

Blossoming Keep that foot well elevated. Hope that you continue to make a good recovery.

Hello again, Pittcity smile

Dare I say that the latest pet portrait is NOT at all disappointing thus far. Concentrate! Do not overwork. Take a break and enjoy a brew wink

Blossoming Mon 18-Apr-22 14:44:40

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Sorry I missed your second post last night SeaNreeze but I see you found us anyway smile

What a lovely photo Soop. Lovely to hear from you AnnSixty.

The foot is definitely on the mend. I have just been out for a very short and slow walk across the bridge and waved to the train! I may have a photo, will have a look later. Right now I’m sitting with my feet in the foot spa, listening to the audiobook of ‘Dead in Devon’. For all those of you who follow the ‘Good Morning’ thread it’s written by a member of Ashcombe’s theatre company and I’m enjoying it so far. The reader has a lovely voice.

soop the children are growing up so quickly. That is a lovely photo, thanks. Hide the iron and admire the waves.

That minx is due a meal or three is she not?!!!

Seabreeze Mon 18-Apr-22 13:44:46

Seabreeze Mon 18-Apr-22 13:43:22

soop Mon 18-Apr-22 12:51:54

So much new activity with new people to welcome warmly to our kitchen. WELCOME Seabreeze, NanaBabs1, mimiEliza and every newcomer, I would not wish to overlook anyone but, because I am wrestling with a pet portrait, I am spending rather too much time away from you lovely lot.

Thank you, Blossoming for your description of our gathering place. Spot on. smile

A photo of middle son with his grandchildren and our great grandchildren. We still have yet to meet the two wee ones.

Welcome back, annsixty. You were missed. flowers

Grandmabatty Mon 18-Apr-22 12:14:44

Annsixty? Nice to hear from you.

annsixty Mon 18-Apr-22 11:58:43

Good morning all.
Encouraged by a regular I thought I would just check in and say that I am still here and read every day.
Too much has happened for me to comment but I send my very best wishes to you all, those with happy news, those with sad news and those ill or caring for a loved one.
It is 3 years today since my DH died, it seems like another world.
I shall pop in occasionally and keep up and think of you all.

Pittcity Mon 18-Apr-22 11:20:34

"I'm on" works too if you've posted on a thread and want to find it again.

Seabreeze Mon 18-Apr-22 09:10:42

Hi nanababs1
I didn’t find it but discovered if I click on forums and watching it comes up.
Thank you for your help.
Sea breeze.

NanaBabs1 Mon 18-Apr-22 07:29:34

Hi Seabreeze, someone who’s got a much better method than me will probably be along soon with a much better way of finding this lovely thread. This one and Michael1’s Good Morning thread don’t always feature in the daily newsletter but are my daily ‘go to’! I never usually post but love and care about our virtual friends!
If you go to the top of the page, under Gransnet Forums, there is the invitation to click on either ‘last hour’ or ‘last day’. Click on ‘last day’ and Soops kitchen will be there, happily awaiting your visit!
Of course, I’m on an iPad so it might be slightly different.

Happy Easter to All! Sorry yours hasn`t turned out as planned Maw, but some things just can`t be planned for.
Soop, I hope the latest portrait is going to be THE ONE!

Seabreeze Sun 17-Apr-22 22:37:07

What I want to know is tomorrow when I get the gransnet email sent to me there will be different threads on it how will I get to soops thread. I’ve looked on threads but didn’t see it.
I’ve clicked on watching do I just click on that. Sorry for being a pain.

Charleygirl5 Sun 17-Apr-22 22:34:59

Urms I did laugh when you described your I SPY game. I have decided you are the one who must keep up as you are the older of the two of you! She sounds to be a little poppet.

Yesterday my neighbour gave me a plate of chicken Biryani. There was so much there was enough for tonight and also tomorrow. It is delicious but to be honest it is really too hot for me.

This is a second neighbour who gives me food but to be honest, I really do not need feeding up- nothing could be further from the truth but it is the thought that counts.

Using my new washing machine I have washed everything in sight so tomorrow I really should make an appointment with a vacuum cleaner. If I must do housework I prefer to clean sinks and loos and wash floors.

Good evening lovely Kitchen people.
Thank you, Tilly, Blossoming, Soop and Brook for your kind comments on my Easter table.

It's been great to read of so many of you spending this special day with family and friends, in the sunshine ? too! Well done to all the cooks and bakers, Imogen's cheesecake looks delicious!

Our family is coming for roast lamb lunch tomorrow, we had to wait till everyone was Covid free. We've missed them, so looking forward to seeing them again.

Mawflowers, I'm so sorry to read of your DD's family's sad situation, but I'm seriously impressed with all the support you were able to give them. So much driving, what stamina you must have. I hope you've had the best day possible with Rosie. It'll be a great comfort to you to know that the family are all there for the lady.

Blossomingflowers I hope you are soon pain free.

TOYA, NNGB. ? ? ?

Blossoming Sun 17-Apr-22 21:21:24

Seabreeze. This is Soop’s thread, you’re in it smile

Dogsmakemesmile Sun 17-Apr-22 21:11:55

My thoughts are with you Maw.
Worked all day with lovely team and appreciated the beautiful warm breeze as I walked home. DH in charge of the egg hunt for grandchildren. They had a great time.
Schools back tomorrow so my usual routine starts again.
According to our local weather forecast we have two weeks of dry weather ahead...

Hi snoop. Where do I find your thread. So many ladies follow you. Would like to follow you too.

Blossoming Sun 17-Apr-22 19:29:41

mimiEliza this is a virtual kitchen where we gather for comfort, support, companionship and calorie-free cake.

Please feel free to join in if you want to.

Gransnet does have a section for recipes, and if I have done this right here’s a link.

Soop. Apologies but I have not got a clue what this thread is about, apart from possibly 'tongue in cheek' stuff. So many people have replied but I'm obviously slow and in the dark! I was looking for recipes! Nor could I find photos of your kitchen!

Hiraeth Sun 17-Apr-22 19:16:12

Just back home and glad to put my feet up ! What a lovely day . My daughter cooked a Sunday Easter lunch with all the trimmings and my Cherrypie and Easter loaf were delicious ! We went for a beautiful walk after lunch with my 2 grandchildren and Ollie the faithful ruemanian dog dog .
Thanks Soop and everyone who have taken me under their wing in the heart- warming kitchen . It’s good to read happy posts .
Stay safe everyone
