Hello Kitcheners.
Another terrible night’s sleep with this covid but the glorious weather found me outside this afternoon doing some gardening pottering but most of the time was spent sitting under our new veranda.
MrM’s recovery seems complete as he was erecting scaffolding to enable him to get on the roof of the new build so look at the solar thermal fittings. I still hear the odd cough from him.

Easy dinner here too Jax. A ‘here’s one I made earlier’ lasagna from the freezer, jacket potato and coleslaw.

Thank you brook. I’m curious about the argy visitors. . Better get the pasty trays ready. I’ve a new filling to try out.

Do hope that baby appears again dusty. We have some pied wagtails and hoping to see them nesting. Phone camera !

Hello everyone.
Blossoming I know nothing about gout bar the fact it can be horrifically painful. I am sending you my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
At work all day so enjoying this glorious evening. The light and bird song are amazing. Easter has always been my favourite time of year.
Jax let other people do the work. Keep resting. Soop you are obviously a perfectionist. Your portrait will be much appreciated.
Best wishes to all and a wonderful Easter.

Hello to soop and all kitchen friends.
We have spent a gentle day, drove a short distance to a National Trust Parkland and found a quiet corner of grass by a lake to set our chairs down.
So many families with their children doing an Easter quiz that has been set by the NT and they had to locate certain things on their sheets of paper.
We took a picnic, just the two of us and watched the world go by.
Yes Jaxjacky Covid leaves you with a feeling of having your stuffing pulled out. An accurate analogy.

I hope everyone found some enjoyment today.

Happy and Peaceful Easter All.

Just seen a note passed under the kitchen door from Doodle saying the Argy is open for Easter Sunday and Monday with some very special guests ..
Please pop along if you can - you’re all very welcome
Hi ? FannyC nice to see you here ?

Aldom Sat 16-Apr-22 19:16:29

Sending Easter blessings to the Soop's and all who visit the warm, friendly kitchen.
I'm looking after my 'grandcats' while my family are on a well deserved holiday. Watching Easter from Kings at the moment. Enjoying the beautiful music and readings. Memories of when my late husband was Vicar choral at a cathedral.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 16-Apr-22 18:46:20

Just popping in to wish you all a Happy and Peaceful Easter ?

(I have absolute no chance of keeping up with all the kitchen news )

Jaxjacky Sat 16-Apr-22 18:39:14

Evening everyone, another lovely day. I’ve made burgers for tomorrow’s bbq and nipped into local M&S to pick up online ordered goods, this covid aftermath fair knocks the stuffing out of you doesn’t it.
An easy chicken in a bag is in the oven.
Best of luck with portrait mark ? soop, I’m sure it’ll be lovely.
Hope your foot is still easing Blossoming and is on its best behaviour tomorrow.
Photo of Easter bonnet please Hiraeth ?
I’m going to have a glass of wine and drop heavy hints for MrJ to peel potatoes, he is very good at it!
Have a pleasant evening all x

Blossoming the tablets are called Allopurinol (Generis) , I’ve just looked and Generis is the manufacturer and DH has had different brands since he was first prescribed them probably 30 years plus ago. He is very lucky in that he never seems to suffer side effects from medication whereas if there is a side effect available then I’ll get it despite never reading beyond when to take something on its accompanying leaflet.

We had a strange face peering in our front patio window early this morning. The sun was streaming in from the south so we had put that blind down to about 9 inches from the bottom. Suddenly there was a miniature football of baby bird trying to get into the dark bit. He was like a fluffy, spotted white football with no tail. I was still thinking about trying to get a photograph when DH pulled the blind up and he flew away.
I’ve been looking at photos of baby birds on and off ever since. grin

Afternoon kitcheners. I had brunch with a pal today then visited my cousin as her daughter is 21 today. When I got home I have watched cheesy science fiction films as it's quite cold here. Have a good evening all.

Hello kitchen pals, it’s been a lovely sunny day here in Inverness but a bit of a breeze has just picked up so I’m in now.

This morning DH and I went out to a local garden centre for our breakfast and then we bought a few more plants to brighten up the garden - I just can’t resist them when I’m there but we’ve got to find room to plant them somewhere now!

I hope you’re happier with the portrait this time soop and Im sure it’ll be a masterpiece indeed

Tadpoles are ok Shazza but for me it’s when they grow into frogs that the trouble starts - they scare the living daylights out of me when they jump out from under a bush when I’m gardening ?

Hoping that gout is much better tomorrow Blossoming and you enjoy your family time

soop Sat 16-Apr-22 17:13:22

Shazza Kindness goes a long, long way. Take good care of those chubby little tadpoles. Your grandchildren will be thrilled.

My friend has been. She has left me with a different photo from which to paint the pet portrait. We have discussed colouring and, with a little good fortune, I shall paint a masterpiece. wink

My best wishes to you lovely lot. I shall return tomorrow. smile moon

Good afternoon lovely kitcheners.
Soop I’m sure your third attempt at your dog will be just right this time
.
Blossoming pleased your a little better today but yes rest up then you’ll be on good form for your day tomorrow.

We sat out this morning and our neighbour popped her head over the fence to give us a gluten free cake she’s made us for our Easter celebration tomorrow. What a lovely gesture.
She also gave us some chubby little tadpoles to put in our tank for the GC to watch tomorrow ours are so tiny you can hardly see them in the pond.
Just waiting for our friends to come and we are all going out enjoying the sunshine.
Enjoy your day everyone ?? speak soon. Sorry there a lovely people feeling rubbish today with the virus and other problems. Hope you all feel better soon. X

Blossoming Sat 16-Apr-22 12:48:15

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Thank you all for your concern and kindness, it does help when I’m miserable from the unrelenting pain. Your father is correct Soop, anything touching the inflamed foot is agony. It’s feeling better today and looks less angry and swollen. I will be doing very little today as we are lunching with family tomorrow and I don’t want to aggravate it. I just hope I can get a shoe on!

Hope there are more -ve tests today, enjoy Easter Saturday all ?

soop Sat 16-Apr-22 12:36:31

The sun has his hat on. It is a delightful day, 'though the stiff breeze continues to ruffle the sea.

The friend who was to have called in yesterday to advise me regarding the pet portrait, is coming by this afternoon. Once we've established the true colour of the dog's fur, I can proceed with portrait attempt number three. hmm

Enjoy your day. We're about to indulge in a hot cross bun or two. wink

soop Sat 16-Apr-22 12:31:49

Blossoming You have my sympathy in abundance. My father suffered with gout. He maintained that the pain was unbelievable and he could not bear to have bedsheets touch his feet. I hope that you get the help you need to manage the distressing symptoms. flowers

Urmstongran Fri 15-Apr-22 21:38:46

‘Evening All’

Sorry to hear you’ve got gout Blossoming I do hope it clears very soon. I’ve been binge watching ‘The Split’ on BBC iPlayer. Loved it.

We have our own bed tonight after staying over to mind the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss last night. ?

ShazzaKanazza Fri 15-Apr-22 21:25:36

Good evening lovely kitcheners. So lovely reading about your Good Friday activities.

Blossoming sorry to hear your gout is playing up. My dad is a sufferer and it debilitating when it flares up.

Soop the other day I washed our bedding it dried on the line and I put it straight back on the bed without ironing it. It was liberating lol.

Wonderful you are negative Jax hope you’ve enjoyed the pub.

We had a lovely afternoon sitting in the garden with Grandmadinosaur and her DH with lots to chat about. The time passed in a flash.
I planted some black and a peach coloured bleeding heart seeds. No idea if they’ll grow but I’m hopeful.
Chilling now in front of the tele but won’t stay up long as we have to pick up DGS in the morning.

Have a lovely evening everyone. Look forward to reading all your news tomorrow. Speak soon. X ?

muse Fri 15-Apr-22 20:49:41

Good evening Kitcheners.
Excellent news Jax, finally. ? Enjoy the meal.
The exercise you've been doing Blossoming is fantastic but so gutted to hear about the gout. Hope the tests give a clue.

I had 5 hours sleep last night and six during the day today.
Managed two short walks with Mya whilst the weather was dry. MrM and I will test again on Monday. He might be -ive then (10 days). He was still +ive yesterday but feeling fine.

Take care all those with struggles.

Jaxjacky Fri 15-Apr-22 19:02:13

Oh Blossoming how flipping unfair is that, life just kicks us sometimes doesn’t it ? for you x
soop ironing sheets, does not compute, so I’d be admonishing you at the best of times! But if it cheers, then I’m pleased you can do it.
Been to pub, I’ve left MrJ there, it was so lovely to see and interact with people, we have an Indian meal being delivered later.
Daughter and GC’s are home from the IoW, they’ve had a glorious 3 days, we’re looking forward to seeing them and my son with his family on Sunday, we do have fun altogether.
Have a gentle evening all x

brook2704 Fri 15-Apr-22 18:26:39

Sorry to hear about the painful gout Blossoming I hope it subsides soon and doesn’t spoil your family get together on Sunday ?

Bellanonna Fri 15-Apr-22 17:59:10

soop that sunset is lovely. We forgive you the ironing episode but now please sit back and relax with a G&T. It’s 6 pm so it’s allowed!
Tilly I agree the traditional buns are the best. M&S are selling marmite ones (yuk).
I hope everyone has a happy Easter, however they spend it.

Grandmabatty Fri 15-Apr-22 17:35:34

That is soo painful blossoming. I do hope it subsides soon.

Blossoming Fri 15-Apr-22 17:30:16

That’s very kind of you Dustyangel. I’m already on quite a lot of ‘lifetime’ meds so one more wouldn’t be difficult as long as there are no incompatibilities. The pain really is something, isn’t it? I’m going to be ringing my doctor after the bank holiday as I’m due a Uric acid test and overdue a hb1ac test. I’ve been doing so well with physio exercises so this is disappointing.
