Good Morning Everyone,
Its just daylight here in brackley this morning.
My Doctor gave me a clean bill of health , but to watch the upper figure as to blood pressure, if that goes low then medication changes .
I am tempted to get the bus to Bicester for an hour today , before coming home to watch cycling on TV this afternoon .
Take care,
Mick

grandMattie Thu 07-Apr-22 06:21:45

Good morning from a stormy E Kent.
I’m glad your doctor gave you a clean bill of health, Mick . Very reassuring.
Not very goodnight, after another busy day. I did manage a nap, however.
Today, primary schools friends of DH are visiting. I have to make sure they don’t overtire him.
My tumble dryer died and I’m getting a new one today as well.
Seize the day, my dears. Be content. ???????

Jaxjacky Thu 07-Apr-22 06:23:40

Good morning Mick and all, a clean bill of health is excellent Mick. Rain and wind overnight here, I think it’s drying now.
I’ve been up for a couple of hours, coughing away with my covid bugs, MrJ will do a pharmacy trip later to buy stuff that I know really won’t hasten recovery, but makes me feel better!
Voluntary phone on a Thursday for me.
Have a pleasant day ??

Scentia Thu 07-Apr-22 06:41:21

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is wet and windy ?
DH had a wet ride to Portsmouth yesterday and is just boarding the boat for what promises to be a rough trip to the south of France!
Will be picking the children up from nursery at lunchtime and going to their house to help DD with the mountain of washing she seems to accrue.
DD has ADHD and really struggles to get organised with some things, mum to the rescue!!
Glad your GP gave you a clean bill of health Mick
My new cold frame arrived yesterday as the last one smashed in a storm, I will build that up tonight. Also I have a rack to fit on my new electric bike so I can put a bag on. I bought a trailer for the children too, just waiting for a nice day to take them for a ride.
Take care everyone and stay upright in this wind❤️

Ashcombe Thu 07-Apr-22 06:45:06

Good morning, Mick, and all who follow on from a windy Sarthe. I’m glad to hear that your GP found nothing too untoward. Enjoy your outing!

I hope you’re feeling better each day, BlueBalou. My DD2 has been doing too much work from home (IMO) and was very tired yesterday. Her Headteacher has told her not to come back before the holiday, thank goodness!

Brilliant news about Iris, grandMattie! ???It’s good to hear how supportive your DH's consultant is being. ? How lovely to have had your DS nearby for a few days, Gagagran! I bet you’re pleased with the decorating, coornergran. A fresh look for Spring!

I hope your DH enjoys his trip in France, Scentia; sadly, it’s windy and will be wet today but probably more clement in the South. You must be ready for a break, even though you'll be busy, Gingster!

I hope your knee has settled now, kittylester and the various appointments went to plan in your family. Your poor neighbour, Urmstongran. Hope you enjoyed your DGS’s concert.

Shopping yesterday was interesting yesterday as I chose to pay but the contactless limit here is 50€ so the pin no. was required. We are lucky to have an Intermarché supermarket of reasonable size in the nearest village so we keep fuel costs down by patronising that more often currently.

Time I made our second cuppa so I’ll sign off now and hope all with discomfort or worries have a better day. ??????

Bigred18 Thu 07-Apr-22 06:47:46

Still raining here in Sydney (3.45pm)
We feel it will never stop. So many homeless now, I feel lucky to have a roof over my head and no leaks!

BlueBalou Thu 07-Apr-22 06:55:34

Good morning everyone, it’s a damp, grey-skied start here today, it’s pretty blowy too.
Thank you Ashcombe, unfortunately the cough seems to have returned with a vengeance ☹️, and now DH has it so not a happy house here! Oh well, little choice other than to sit it out I guess.
I have finished binge-watching Bridgerton, what should I try next?
I hope you all have a peaceful day. DDog has just joined me ?

cornergran Thu 07-Apr-22 06:55:39

Morning Mick, morning All from a windy, damp corner of Somerset.

Goodness what a night. Thought we’d be blown away. Decorator has finished. We’re delighted with the his efforts, even more delighted with the reduced cost as it didn’t take him as long as he believed. Today it’s put everything back and a clean through.

That sounds reassuring Mick. The children will enjoy the trailer Scentia. Love to you both grandMattie. Hope you’re better soon jax.

Take care everyone. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

MawtheMerrier Thu 07-Apr-22 07:06:03

Good morning from clear and bright N Bucks - but there’s a cold wind.
Snatching 15 minutes peace and quiet with Rosie curled up on the foot of my bed while 2 GSs watch a DVD.
Eldest(11) whom I brought down from Birmingham, yesterday, is never any trouble and proving really good company, and the other, D2’s boy, (5) has never slept away from home without one or both parents - that’s the legacy of 2 years of pandemic I suppose. His mummy brought him up on the train yesterday before going on to a meeting to do with the play she is currently working on and I met them at MK station. We also collected Rosie from her little stay at kennels and she is fine with them, loving the odd bit of biscuit or pizza she has rescued from the floor!
So, so far so good! Country park today I think and maybe MK museum .

Wishing you all a pleasant day, I can’t possibly go through everybody individually, you’d be here all day, but thinking of those with health issues or worries.

Gagagran Thu 07-Apr-22 07:15:45

Good Morning everyone from a windy south coast where the sun is rising and promising a bit better day than yesterday! Only 7.0c though. It was a windy and noisy night here too cornergran.

Our lovely cleaner is due shortly after kindly agreeing to come a day later as DS was here for breakfast ( muesli kippers and poached eggs if you are interested!) before heading back to Essex. It's been so enjoyable seeing him and hearing all his plans. I'm still smiling!

Good news from your GP Mick and you can start your travels again.

Hope the visitors realise how delicate the situation is with your DH's health, Mattie and don't overtire either of you. Did you manage to finish the quilt you were making for him? flowers

Recommend Fisherman's Friends for coughs BlueBalou. The choir I was in used to smell of them as good throat clearers!

Nothing much on the agenda here today but at some point I need a library visit as I am "read up".

Take care everyone and have the best day you can.sunshine

dragonfly46 Thu 07-Apr-22 07:15:48

Good morning from a wild and windy Leicestershire.
Feeling a little better so may venture out to Tai Chi this morning.

Wishing all my fellow Covid sufferers a good day and hoping GrandMattie has a peaceful day.

Kim19 Thu 07-Apr-22 07:26:14

Morning everyone! ? or ? as feels desirable. Mick, grand news from your GP and I hope you yield to your temptation today. Blue Balou I would recommend a binge watch of The Split on BBC1. Keep recognising you comfort zones everyone. Cheers!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 07-Apr-22 07:28:51

Morning all

Oh what a night ?? we have tremendous rain storms and really blustery wind, I am exhausted (DH slept through of course)

Going to DiL’s this morning for coffee and a catch up. I imagine the the GC (GD 4 and GS 2) will want me to play in their newly decorated refitted play room. First I must change bedding and out the washing machine on.

The Imp was reasonably well behaved at the cinema yesterday for his first ever visit. We went to the morning kids club showing so there were lots of lively audience members ?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

BlueSapphire Thu 07-Apr-22 07:34:56

Good morning everyone from a bright and very windy Northampton. Stronger winds forecast this morning. I have washing to do, but fear it may get blown off the line!

Sainsbury's delivery this morning, then ballet after lunch, and then our evening health walks restart after winter. We start and finish at a pub, so some of us will have a meal there afterwards.

Didn't get to well-being Cafe yesterday, got as far as the bus stop, waited nearly half an hour for a bus, gave up and went back home. Decided that by the time I got to the cafe it would be time to come back home anyway. So spent the afternoon reading instead.

Have a pleasant day everyone.

kittylester Thu 07-Apr-22 07:42:33

Good morning all from a calmer bit of Leicestershire than dragonfly.

Not much happening here - I may take my knee to the gp but I will be resting it anyway. It is quite a bit better today.

DH is volunteer driving today and we have Sainsbury's delivery due.

Have the best day possible everyone.

grandMattie Thu 07-Apr-22 07:47:46

Still struggling with quilt. Sewing the strips and when that is done, finishing off the edges. Both involve hand sewing. X

NannyJan53 Thu 07-Apr-22 07:50:17

Good morning from a very windy Black Country.

Lovely coffee, bacon sandwich and chat with a friend yesterday. She certainly has a lot on her plate at the moment.

Thursday walk this morning with a "walk and chat group" a lady near me set up last year. We meet every other Thursday for an approx 90 minutes walk, and usually a cafe at the end.

MrJ waited in all day for a promised parcel which never materialised! E-mail this morning now says tomorrow, and as he has to go out, looks like I will be staying in tomorrow.

Wishing you all a good day with special thoughts to all with ill health

brook2704 Thu 07-Apr-22 07:52:10

Good morning everyone from a very wet and cold Inverness where we’ve slushy snow on the ground and it’s looking very soggy.
Good that you were checked over by the GP mick and alls well
There’s not much chance of getting out into the garden again today so I’ll be off to the gym for an aerobics class this morning and then not sure about later - will see!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grandmabatty Thu 07-Apr-22 07:53:04

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and damp. The rain came down most of yesterday afternoon and it looks like it will be wet again later. I'm glad you got a clean bill of health Mick. That trailer looks fun Scentia.
Yesterday's visit to mum went ok. I then went to dd for a coffee and played with the boys for a while. Dgs1 wanted a badger. He kept going on about needing a badger. Finally we worked out he meant bandage! He has a tiny scrape on his arm. He's so funny.
Today I'm going nowhere. I've been running down the freezer and today I'll defrost the beast. It's badly needing it. The most difficult part will be switching it off as it's not easy to get to. Have a good day all.

Marydoll Thu 07-Apr-22 08:06:42

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow.
Excellent news Mick, that nothing serious is going on. Hopefully this reassuring GP visit will help you to regain your confidence and you can get out and about again.

I'm just popping in to say thank you to those posters, who were concerned about my absence. I haven't been taking a break, just not felt up to posting and not wanting to sound a misery guts either nor seeking sympathy.
However, I thought it was best to stop any speculation, that someone has upset me, as my reason for not posting.

Recently, my health has become very problematic, especially my heart condition, which has become quite unstable, with no more options left to improve my quality of life. I have been advised to basically accept that this is my new normal, whatever that is. It is a bugger to say the least! I really thought I was invincible! ?
Late on Tuesday night, I had a bit of a fright. Without over dramatising the incident, my angina attack was so severe, I was close to phoning 999. My immediate thought was yet another heart attack was imminent. Thank goodness, as is the nature of the beast, it eventually settled down. There is a very fine line, in deciding to make that call and not..

Our local hospital is bursting at the seams, with Covid cases, with only emergency admissions, and after my last, frightening experience there, when no safe bed for me could be found, I will only be going, if things get critical. For someone, who has been in and out of hospitals for the last forty odd years, and was never phased by it, I have developed an irrational fear of going in and never coming out again.
Hopefully, a few more days of rest will settle things down. I am so frustrated, I have turned into Victoria Meldrew, grumpy and at odds with the world!

So may on here with worries, health or otherwise. I wish you all a peaceful and hopefully pain free day.
For those spending time with grandchildren, enjoy!
I will be seeing my darling, wee Dollie today, the best possible medicine. I am ecstatic to say the least! ?

Have a good day, whatever your plans!

Pittcity Thu 07-Apr-22 08:08:51

Good morning from a bright and breezy Colchester.
I have bedding to change too and think it may be too windy to risk line drying but too expensive to tumble....dilemma grin
Ironing, shopping and awaiting a pile of muddy laundry from DH and DS who have both been camping out for a few days.
Love to all ? x

Scentia Thu 07-Apr-22 08:10:24

Marydoll ?

ShazzaKanazza Thu 07-Apr-22 08:11:51

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a very wet and windy Hull.
Pleased you are able to start on your travels Mick. Still take care.
GM it will do your DH good to see his friends. You will both be tired out tonight.??

Last night I spoke to my Dad, he’s 81 and has finally wrapped up his car business so he’s retired now. But he said he’s going to start looking for another part time job next week. My stepmum is 76 and still works four days in a mother of the bride shop. What energy!
Today i will maybe do a zoom yoga and later pick up DGS from school so not too busy.

Hoping our covid folks feel better soon and thoughts to those with family worries.
Take care everyone and hope Thursday brings a moment of joy. ??

Urmstongran Thu 07-Apr-22 08:12:20

Here’s Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester. Boy it was sooo windy last night! Calm enough now but looks chilly out and there are spits of rain on the windows. Brr!

I’m meeting a friend in the square for coffee at our local independent cafe bar. Yes, I’ve decided I’m still supporting them even though prices have gone up!

Later we take the Boy Wonder and L’il Miss for their swimming lessons.

I’m disappointed. I did my weekly weigh in and am the same as last Thursday! Where have I gone wrong? Our local bookshop has ordered me a copy of Carbs & Cals and sent me an email last night to say it’s in, ready to collect. I shall read it and see if it gives me any tips. It’s too early in my new diabetic prevention lifestyle to be ‘maintaining’!

Enjoy Thursday all who can. Thinking especially of all who are struggling and those with family members under medical supervision. x

Good morning from a bright but very windy Essex by the sea.

DH has taken the car to be serviced, food shopping later.

Have a nice day and best wishes to all xx
