Good Morning Everyone,
Its just daylight here in brackley this morning.
My Doctor gave me a clean bill of health , but to watch the upper figure as to blood pressure, if that goes low then medication changes .
I am tempted to get the bus to Bicester for an hour today , before coming home to watch cycling on TV this afternoon .
Take care,
Mick

Matt is a man after my own heart this morning Dragonfly and Urms. I laughed out loud and said 'YES'! How sad grin

Grandmabatty Thu 07-Apr-22 12:56:08

Poor wee Dolly. Lots of hugs.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 07-Apr-22 11:55:13

Aww poor Dollie ? she gets through it swiftly and you were so looking forward to seeing her Marydoll no wonder you are upset.

Urmstongran Thu 07-Apr-22 11:50:54

Thanks Blossoming. My mug of milky Horlicks is norty.
Shame!

Marydoll Thu 07-Apr-22 11:37:53

I have now had a phone call to say Dollie has Covid.
She also missed Christmas due to it. It is rife in her school.
Ironically she had her first vaccine on Saturday. Onward and upwards. It is what it is. ?

Good morning Mick and all from a rather grey Carlisle where it's looking like more rain.
Good luck with a bus trip out Mick, your previous experience must have shaken your confidence.
I've polished off the ironing and had a Tesco delivery. I had 2 substitutions in my veggie order, both for cheaper alternatives so I got larger packs. Whilst I do love my veg, it's going to be a bit challenging eating my way through this lot. Also, I wandered through M&S's food hall yesterday and spotted English asparagus so had to have some. We English do asparagus best and I usually pig out on it in these few weeks it's available. Btw, never heard of it being grown in Scotland.

Glad you're back Marydoll. Some folk could easily fall into being a 'misery guts' given your conditions but not you! Keep posting.
Have the best possible day everyone, especially if you're one of the seemingly many unwell.

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
Tired today as coach trip yesterday was long, down to Aberdovey, Wales. Left the house at 6.45 and returned at 9.50 p.m. but a lovely run, beautiful scenery and weather ok.
House stuff today and thinking of my BILs partner who has gone into a hospice in the south today and the situation not looking good. My flying DD is back from Boston Saturday and will go immediately to see her as living not too far away. She’s been, in the words of my late BILs partner “a ray of sunshine” helping her.
Watch your health Mick, it’s the main thing, and thoughts to everyone with troubles,
.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cool and cloudy and raining in my corner of Lancashire this morning, currently 7°C.

It was very windy and raining overnight, yesterday was dry but really cold wind. I tried to go for a walk but after almost getting blown over twice I decided discretion was the better part of valour and headed home.

Good news from your doctor Mick.

Hope the visit from old friends lifts your DH’s spirits GrandMattie.

Hope your symptoms improve Jax, it must be difficult manning the phone with a cough.

What a busy day Scentia, hope your DH has smooth sailing.

Enjoy your visit with Dollie Marydoll flowers

Urms our instructor on Tuesday advised us to watch the ‘extras’, such as nuts, milky drinks or wine, that may not be part of a meal but still have calories. It’s easy to consume more than you think. I don’t think staying the same is failure, piling weight on would be failure!

Glad your DH is home Grandmadinosaur.

Hope the weather is kind to you today Harrigran

A warm welcome to anybody new to this friendly supportive thread, I do try to say hello but sometimes miss people.

Thank you for the supportive messages yesterday, they really did help. I am closing the door firmly on that episode now.

Thinking of all our grans going through difficult times. I hope everyone has the best day possible.

luluaugust - so glad you found Essex people friendly. We have such a bad ‘press’, don’t we GG and Sar ?

Gingster Thu 07-Apr-22 09:18:26

Good morning from a very blustery Suffolk Coast. The wind is coming off the land so the sea is fairly calm. Bright and sunny though!
Yesterdays journey up here was tricky with heavy downpours and the spray from lorries made vision almost impossible. Scary stuff!
As I sat in the summerhouse with little pooch and classic fm on, we had thunder, heavy rain and high winds. Then the sun came out accompanied by a brilliant ? rainbow. This seemed to reflect ‘life’ - dark times are often followed by the light. !

I’m feeling quite ‘spiritual’ lately! The other night I had a dream - I was walking up my school friends path singing happy birthday to her mum who was standing at the door looking young, beautiful and happy!I phoned my friend to tell her and she said it had, indeed, been her mums birthday that day. I had no idea! We both had watery eyes! ?.

Clearing out day today. I was all for hiring a skip but Dh said we will make trips to the tip in the car. ( It’s only 5 minutes away, so it does make sense) .

Well I have rambled long enough.

Marydoll take care ?.

GM ?

Mick - go for it! ?

Scentia what fun ?????‍? ?.

Chrissielou hope you had a lovely birthday and enjoy your break away! ?.

Best wishes to all ❤️

Good morning from a very windy W Kent. Off to art group this morning. Good couple of days away for wedding of daughter of family friends. Lovely bride good catch up with family, only problem the chef at the inn we were staying in was off with covid so no evening meal, had to go and search one out for ourselves. What a friendly place Essex is great help from NT volunteers and other locals.
Marydoll every good wish and all the best to everybody.

Urmstongran Thu 07-Apr-22 08:43:05

Marydoll ? for you. I think you must be feeling scared.

grandMattie Thu 07-Apr-22 08:36:22

Glad to hear from you, Marydoll. Enjoy Dollie.
Urms, no weight is ok. Gains are the problem. It takes your body a while to adjust to dieting. X

Grandmabatty Thu 07-Apr-22 08:24:12

Marydoll lots of resting. ?

Serendipity22 Thu 07-Apr-22 08:22:51

Hold on to your hat its a wild day out there !

Morning everyone from Yorkshire, ooooops i missed out the word WINDY.

Well yesterday my GD who is 4 made yummy Jelly Baby Squares and they were mmmmmmmm.

Today, i am going to watch the Easter Parade at my GS school, he is 5, so that will be fun.

Afterwards i want more material for yet more sewing, so i will pop along to the chairty shop. I buy clothes and pillowcases then turn them into fancy drawstring bags...... da-daa haaaaaa.

Enjoy your day ( despite the fact it might be windy in your neck of the woods )

Marydoll sending hugs and ? take care

Grandmadinosaur Thu 07-Apr-22 08:16:18

Good morning from wet East Yorkshire.

I’m glad to say my DH is now home and recovering well. He wasn’t too happy with his experience the last couple of days. Just hanging around being told he could go home on Tuesday after blood tests etc, even moving him to another hospital on Monday evening that never materialised. I could go on. Didn’t get home eventually till yesterday afternoon. He hasn’t shaved for 10 days and I quite like him with the beard that’s coming along nicely but he says it’s going. Never actually seen him with one before only in a photo before I knew him.

No plans for today just GS here after school.

Hoping everyone with illness of any kind will feel better soon.

ShazzaKanazza Thu 07-Apr-22 08:16:04

Pleased to hear from you Marydoll ?
